Kladuk's heart hammered in his chest, his legs burned as he ran as fast as he could, while he held his nine-year-old daughter firmly against his chest.
His wife was trailing after him, with their newborn clasped firmly in her arms.
They were running for nearly an hour, and even with the physique of a Tauron, it was becoming difficult for him to continue.
Kladuk was not the only one who was not feeling their muscles burn; his wife, along with seven other adults in a similar position, would have given up if it were not for the little ones they were carrying.
Kladuk reigned in his emotions as he was reminded of his parents' fate, how they sacrificed themselves with a smile on their faces, so that his family might survive. Unfortunately, it was becoming impossible with every passing second.
"Kladuk, I cannot. This is too much.", one of them spoke with a pained look.
"Wribur, stop being selfish, your child's life... huff... is in your hands."
