Chapter 159: Dawn
Laboni Forest,
Torrelsav's POV,
The morning light had began to peek through the canopy of trees as the group made their way back slowly.
Torrelsav rode atop his wolf with folded arms as his body swayed from side to side. His mind replaying everything he had just witnessed...
He had fought in arenas across three kingdoms.
He had killed things that didn't have names in the common tongue. He had survived the Shadow Fang slavers, survived the years between then and now that he didn't talk about because some things were better carried quietly than spoken aloud.
He had thought, after all of that, that he had a reasonable measure of what strong looked like.
He was revising that assessment.
Torug rode ahead of the group on Alpha, his right shoulder angled slightly wrong in a lazy posture. He watched the hand heal on its own since the end of the battle and the return journey, but the way he still refused to move it was a subtle tell of someone managing pain.
