"Alright, wait a moment," He Jingyao said as he stood up and walked into the bedroom.
Zhixi was still quietly sleeping.
He Jingyao smiled faintly, placing a hand on her stomach, but didn't feel any movement. It seemed the baby, like their mother, was also asleep.
He leaned down and kissed Zhixi on the forehead.
She woke up with a start, her eyes wide open: "Jingyao?"
"Yes," he smiled slightly, "Did you sleep well?"
She nodded dazedly as she sat up with his help.
Seeing the man's somewhat gloomy expression, she suddenly understood: "Is it... is it..."
"Yes." He Jingyao gently ruffled her hair, "I'll have someone take you back to the old house soon. You and Xiaobao wait for me there."
Zhixi felt her heart pounding.
"So... so you're planning to stay and face Lawrence and that bomb codenamed N39 alone? What if... what if something unexpected happens..." Zhixi clutched his collar tightly, her voice a bit stammered.
