Ethan Laurent fell silent for a long time after her words. The hand gripping the steering wheel had its knuckles squeezed so tight they'd gone a little white. "You've really decided?"
"Yeah." Summer Ford stiffly nodded.
"Give me a month to think about it." His gaze slid away from her face and, with a sharp roar, he started the car.
Summer let out a long sigh, but her mood wasn't as relieved as she'd imagined it would be.
Ethan had agreed to think it over. She should be happy about that!
Yet, all the way back, what filled her heart was a kind of indescribable disappointment…
After they got back, Ethan stayed in her place for one night, and the next day he flew straight home.
He didn't call her after that either. Summer would occasionally hear the baby mention him, saying he seemed really busy lately, running around for Rousseau every day.
For a long time after, the two of them didn't get in touch at all.
It was Leo and Tanya Dalton who came to Yorland several times instead.
