Ethan Laurent remained silent after that phone call, not responding for quite some time.
"What's the matter? Are you shocked?" Raine Sullivan's voice came through again, her tone was relaxed and it was clear they had a close relationship, with even a hint of playfulness.
"Why didn't you give me a heads-up?" Ethan Laurent snapped back to reality, his expression quickly returning to a nonchalant appearance.
"You're not happy?" Raine Sullivan seemed momentarily taken aback, counter-questioning instead of answering.
Ethan Laurent rubbed his temples with his fingers and fell silent once more.
"I called you several times before but you didn't pick up. I'm not familiar with Central City. I've been at the airport since morning, could you come pick me up?" Raine Sullivan avoided the previous question and continued.
Ethan Laurent glanced sideways at Summer Ford next to him, seeming to hesitate for a moment, but ultimately agreed, "Alright, I'll be there soon. Wait for me at the airport."
