Sylvan Cheney was still watching Little Clementine; as she moved slightly, his eyelashes fluttered in response.
He hadn't said anything for a long time.
The rain outside continued, yet the soundproofing of the hospital room was excellent, preventing any disturbance. Consequently, Little Clementine slept soundly, undisturbed by external noise.
"I'll go check on her," Sylvan finally lifted his head after a while.
Before Butler Santana could react, he had already pushed open the door to the next resting room.
He saw Jasmine Yale sleeping with her head on the table, motionless, exhaustion etched on her face, with noticeable dark circles under her eyes. Her hair was messy, suggesting she had left in a hurry; she hadn't even had time to change her clothes, still wearing her pajamas.
Sylvan frowned, wasn't she cold?
It was already autumn, and with the rain having just fallen, everywhere was chilly.
Busy taking care of her daughter, she didn't have time to take care of herself?
