Chapter 6 - Competition?

Shadow walked through the heavily guarded doors to the library. It housed powerful information which made it sought out by unsavory people. Of course most could never even get through the front gates before either dying or running away. The library didn't have the most valuable information or techniques of course but it did have stuff that wasn't common knowledge and even strong techniques for both magic and martial arts. It was only open to the royal family, nobles and those who have proved themselves at the academy.

"Prince your sister is in their are you sure you want to go in. We know how scared you are of her and we don't want a repeat of last time" one of the guards shouted out with roaring laughter. Others behind him started snickering except for one.

"You all laugh now until he undoubtedly passes us as royalty. He may be the black sheep of their family but it doesn't mean he will never rise to a status far surpassing most." He said as he leisurely was walking up behind them.

"General Sono, we didn't know that you'd be in today since you were in secluded training."

"That is what a surprise visit is men. Do not forget your place you are lower in status than that boy in front of you. As such it is not me who you should be bowing to." As he said this he got down on one knee and bowed to shadow. "In my opinion young sir, your father was a great man. As you now know I'm supposed to be in secluded training so I'll be taking my leave but let me know if you need anything.

Shadow couldn't help but notice the regret in the man'a eyes and maybe even tears when he mentioned his father. It had happened so quick that he didn't even realize that the man had already started walking towards the gate where it looked like a carriage was waiting. He wanted to stop the man and ask him questions but he thought it would definitely be rude to do so. Instead he marched pass the men who seemed drowned in shame from being talked to by their leader. Shadow walked with a little slower into the library because he realized he might've just made enemies of his protection there. If she did try to hurt him they would usually step in. Now he didn't know if they would think of him worse than before. He realized he couldn't keep hiding anymore. He came into a huge room with stair cases ascending up. The room had a big desk in the middle of the floor where about 10 or so people sat in a circle answering questions. Most were bout floor info. The first floor was info on the kingdom. The second was info on military tactics, the third was enchanting and the fourth and fifth were split into magic and martial arts. Each floor was about 500 feet long and 200 feet wide. With amazing architecture depicting the angel demon war that raised on for about 1000 years supposedly. With the floors aligned with book shelf after book shelf. It was this big but on the first floor alone their were only about 50 people. The library was huge but there was never enough people to cover just one floor alone. Wasn't enough nobles and talented people in the kingdom to come close to filling this building. Instead of stopping at the desk he went straight to the fifth floor. As soon as he walked into the corridor leading to the large room holding all the techniques one could imagine he heard a loud noise. It was definitely a group of people that he recognized. It was his elder sister and her demon friends.

"I should make direct contact and wish her the best that'll lead to less of a force with her." He said to himself while walking in a sad slow pace. He finally reached the entrance way, ready to look for the group. They were already standing in front of the door. It was his sister and about 10 people standing around her.

"Hey it's your brother Kera, why is he on the fighter floor when he can't even kill a bug." His sister was staring at him with a serious gaze. Her strawberry hair was in a bun with glasses on her face almost made her look respectable. Though shadow knew how fiery her temper was. As she was always compared to the queen's beauty with her of course losing. She would get mad if no one showed her respect by looking at her beauty.

"Wow, looking beautiful as always elder sister. I actually came to show my respect. My teacher told me you were down here and since he told me to find a book to study for fighting. She almost looked mad at first until her face broke out into a creepy smile.

"My dear younger brother let me help. You only deserve the best. Monin go get that book we talked about earlier". That kid who had made the remark earlier grinned and walked off.

"Sister I was actually going to take a look..."

"Do you not trust my advice, are you saying I'm incompetent. Shadow could only sit there and stare after what she said. He didn't want to make any wrong remarks. The kid came back pretty quick and handed off the book. Shadow stood their for a sec looking at the cover.

The cover was looked pretty old. He was going to open it until his sister spoke up.

"Leave before I change my mind on hurting you and your teacher. You got a book be happy and go."

"Don't I need to check it out with the floor monitor."

"Trust me no one will miss that book you got. So leave or I'll make you leave, but it's your choice."
