Xiu Yeng was getting ready for bed when her phone beeps. She picked it up and saw the ID. It was Wung Jun. Her heart skipped but she ignores it. 'We need to plan something for our two friends. Are you in? Meet me at the the benches tomorrow first thing in the morning. Do not be late.' She was appalled at his demanding tone, she chuckled and replied. 'You better be there or else I will not talk to you ever again!' placing an angry emoji after it. On the other end Wung Jun laughed and send an in love emoji and a stuck out-tongue emoji. And then he drifted to slumber.
Xiu Yeng got up early which surprised her mother. "Is the world going to end today? her mother said. "What are you talking about mother?" "Why are you so early?" " I have a mission to plan." " Mission eh? You young kids are full of foolishness nowadays. Did you eat already?" " Yes I did. I'm leaving now, bye."
Wung Jun was at the benches walking back and forth while waiting for Xiu Yeng. "What take her so long?" He saw her walking towards him. "Ah finally, hurry up slow poke." " Shush! So what are you planning to do?" "Listen, we have a private beach resort and I already asked my dad that we will used it this weekend. I want you to convince Zhang Lei to join us. Make an alibi or something to her parents so that they will agree. Leave everything else to me. We just need a romantic ambiance for Li Jei to confess. Is that clear?" "I want to help setting up the place too!" "You can help me with that when we are there already. The important thing is that Zhang Lei can come." "Leave that to me." They high five and walk to their classroom just in time the first bell rang.
"What's up Xiu Yeng? I did not see you at the front gates this morning." Zhang Lei wonderingly asked her. "Uhm, my mom asked me to do some errands for her, I almost got late. You know my mother." " Yeah but that is just weird." Zhang Lei was not totally convinced of her reason. "Anyway, I have something to tell you later." Xiu Yeng said trying to change the subject. She just don't want to lie to her bestfriend but she needs to put up a white lie for her sake.
Good morning class, please settle down. I have an announcement to make. Everybody went silent and waited for their teacher to continue talking. "Starting today you have a new classmate, he is a transfer from the Capital city. Come in and introduce yourself." she gestured to the boy outside the door to come in. " Hello everyone I'm Tang Shen but you can call me Shen. Everybody gaped at the boy in front of them. He was like a model that came out from a magazine wearing a school uniform. The girls started to stir in there seats . "Are you really a high school student?" one of the boys asked. " Of course I am. I'm same age as you." "Enough of that, you can ask Shen questions later. Alright Shen take that vacant seat in front of Zhang Lei. Shen walked towards the vacant seat that their teacher assigned him. He looked at Zhang Lei handsomely smiled and said "Hi." Zhang Lei was speechless. She just smiled back consciously. Li Jei was watching her reaction the whole time and he felt a pang on his heart. Seeing Li Jei's reaction, although it was really subtle, Wung Jun move closer to him and whispered, you need to act fast now. Li Jei looked at him and said, "I don't see him as a threat." Wung Jun just nodded. "Right. but you still need to do something soon. Tell you my plan later."
Shen seemed quite interested to befriend Zhang Lei. He keeps on glancing towards her and had short friendly conversations. At lunch time Zhang Lei and Xiu Yeng were getting ready to go to the canteen. Zhang Lei decided to invite Shen. " Shen would you like to join us at the cafeteria for looking lunch. "Oh you should come Shen and after eating we could show you around our campus. How's that sound?" Xiu Yeng added trying to be cute to him. Witnessing all this, Wun Jun got irritated. "Ugh I would never fall for girls who try to be cute but aren't." He spoke loud enough for Xiu Yeng to hear. He walked out. "Li Jei you come with us too." Zhang Lei asked him. He nodded so the four of them went to the canteen together. Li Jei was was still wondering why his best friend reacted that way.
Wung Jun was sulking on the benches when his best friend approached him. " Here have some food I know you ditched lunch." Wung Jun thanked him. " So what was that all about? You acted weird. It's not me who got jealous. Obviously it's you. Li Jie can't help but laugh. " Oh Wun Jun I think you meet your match with Xiu Lei." "What? Li Jei stop spatting nonsense okey? By the way are you on for this weekend? We are going to our resort okey. Zhang Lei will be there too, Xiu Yeng promised to bring her. You can tell her there how you feel. Okey? We will prepare the best romantic get away for the two of you." Li Jei was just smiling about his best friend's plan but he did not go against it though. "If you say so bro. I'll give my best."
Dismissal time came. "Zhang Lei can I invite you for a snack before we go home?" Shen asked. "Okey." Zhang Lei replied. "Any place that you like?" " We'll just pick that place near here that sells milkshakes." "Lead the way." They arrived at the cafe and sat near the window. They are waiting for their orders. "How's your parents Zhang Lei?' Shen asked. She was surprised by his direct question. It's kind of weird to ask that question especially when they were just newly acquainted. Zhang Lei hesitated to answer him but he's looking at him and waiting. "Oh they are well. Thanks for asking. How about you what brought you here to our city?" 'To tell you the truth I was forced by my dad to come here. I refused to but refusing would mean that he would cut off my inheritance. I will be poor forever if that's the case. But I'm glad I did because I met you." he said while looking at her smiling but beneath those smile has an evil intent. Their orders arrived and they were silently eating. After a long pause Shen asked her another question. "Do you know any relatives from you dad side?" "He just mention that I have an uncle his half brother and he is living somewhere in another city. Do you anything about my dad's half brother?" Shen was shocked by her direct answer and he was having a hard time to give her an alibi. "No not at all. I do not know anything about who that person is. Anyway let's just finish our food and I'll take you home." "No I'll be fine going home by myself. Thanks for offering though. Shen thanks for your treat. I'll take my leave now. See you in class." Zhang Lei left that cafe thinking of what is going on with Shen and his personal questions about her family.
She was in deep thought while walking and did not see the post in front of her. Luckily somebody pulled her away from hitting her head to the post. "Watch were you are going will you." she heard from the person that suddenly pulled her away from the post. She looked up and realized that it was Li Jei. "Oops, thank you." she smiled sheepishly and embarassed. "You are seemed troubled Zhang Lei, is everything alright? Is it your grades again? You know I can always help you with that." 'My grades are good thanks to you. But I'm fine, I am just tired." she lied. "So let me take you home then. Which bus ar you taking?" " Oh no I will just walk I live a near here now." "Wait, I thought you live in Pointsville." "I was but now I am not." she replied. Point'sville was an exclusive subdivision for the rich nobody could easily get inside if they do not have permission from any of the owners inside.
