Chapter 27 - Skill Maxing Hoarder

Aaron Dawn, finds himself in a virtual space to create his Avatar, or character simply. He had awakened a Innate Skill best suited for him, Skill Storage, labeled as S-Rank. In this game, he can store the skills he has instead of deleting, infinite amount. He can create presets which are builds with 1 minute cooldown in between Preset Switches. Individual skill switches are 10 seconds cooldown, Skill Fusion is locked.

As for his character, he left it as is, he's fine with his own appearance, and there is little player can do to change their appearance. He named himself

Teleported at the Starting Town's center, he right off look at his Status Board.

[ Baero ]

Title: None

Level: 1 | Exp: 0/125

Health: 100/100 | Mana: 100/100

Attack: 1 | Defense: 3(0+3)

Strength: 1 | Vitality: 1

Agility: 1 | Intelligence: 1

[ Active Skills: 0/10 ]

[ Passive Skills: 0/5 ]

Baero went around the Town to understand what can be found. There are a few notable places, one of them being the Training Grounds. Players are offered the tutorial quest to at least attack 100 times on a training dummy with any training weapon. The rewards are 10 Silver and during the process can learn passive skills like Basic Sword Wielding, that increases damage for that weapon.

There 4 weapons excluding the Shield, for Basic Shield Wielding, Sword, Spear, Bow, and Dagger. Baero is a Skill Maxing Addict, whenever there is a game with Skills or something close to Leveling Skills appears, he play them to create a Character with Maxed out Skills, he finds great satisfaction in it.

With 5 Skills presented before him, he started the quest and used each weapon until he unlocks them. But even then, he continues on using them, leveling the skills until they reached level 5, since he can't just be spending days on these 5 skills, there are more to find and obtain. Baero turned the quest in with 1687/50, awarded familiarity points with the instructors in town, a title, 165 exp, 3 Gold, and 30 Silver Coins.

When goes around town picking up every skill there is, at the blacksmith, he went through a trial of having to go mine out his own materials. Given a Worn Pickaxe and Ore Mining Skill, before being set off to the cave marked on the map by the blacksmith. There he would see or mine out just Copper Ore and sometimes Tin as it was the beginner area, there isn't really any rare material to find.

By the time he returned with Mining Level 5, the Blacksmith gets apalled that stayed around that long before teaching him how to smelt them. It took him awhile as the ores are coming out as impure as he isn't satisfied with that. After being a Heavy Skill Grinder, he is a perfectionist and he ain't willing to give out low quality products with his capabilities. So Baero continued on until he ran out of Ingots to make, even made Bronze as he has to use the Tin in some way...

Now for the smithing skill, he is offered to learn either to be a Armorsmith or Weaponsmith, as the Blacksmithing Skill in divided into 2. Baero wanted to do both but the Blacksmith say to learn 1 of them before going into the other, so Baero went with Weaponsmith first.

He is given 4 Blueprints, Gladius Blueprint, Arrow Blueprint, Dagger Blueprint, and Spear Blueprint. Any materials can be used but the Blueprints provided the design to have to be followed. With the copper, he started to refine ingot before shaping it. It wasn't the first time he was doing this in a game, there are other VR Games, but this game has more realism than the other. While still game-like in Leveling, and Stats, the Environment and Actions are more realistic.

Thanks to past experience in other games as a Blacksmith, hammering copper into a Gladius was quite easy.

[ Fine Copper Gladius ]

Rarity: Common

Grade: Green

Durability: 130/130

Attack: 5~16

Benefits:

> +2 Strength

Restriction: Level 1+

Description: A Gladius Sword made from Copper by a Skilled Beginner Weaponsmith.

He continues on crafting a bunch of weapons until the blacksmith stops him and teach him armorsmithing. Learned Tasset Blueprint, Sallet Blueprint, Breastplate Blueprint, Bracer Blueprint, and Greaves Blueprint. There are premade leather pieces for him to use for the armors, and if wants to do everything by hand, he needs to get Leatherworking.

Baero made a whole set first before grinding out experience by making Bracers, as they use less metal in its creation. Despite focusing on Lifestyle Skills, Crafting and Gathering Skills actually provide Exp like in Hunting. The better the end result, the more exp gained, the better the material gathered, the more Exp gained. It isn't just Skill Exp for the Skills, it is actual Char. Exp, while it is lower than hunting or fighting, it is still Exp nonetheless...

With no materials left in his inventory and the Weaponsmithing and Armorsmithing not level 5. Baero went back to Mining, brought more copper back to smelt and craft into Armor or Weapons until the skills reach Level 5.

He went to the Leatherworker for the Tanning and Leatherworking Skills. The Butcher taught him the Butchering and Dissecting Skills. Tailor taught Weaving, and Sewing to create Textile, Cloth, or Cloth-Type Equipment. Herbalist taught how to Forage, and the Alchemist showed him Alchemy, creating Potions or process ingredients, and Transmutation, transforming material into another variation. The transmutation helped with processing the Slag thrown away from the Blacksmithy into other materials contained within.

There are more Crafting or Lifestyle Skills outside the town from the forums people are posting. Since they leveled up from Hunting and was able to leave the beginner area for the Cities. Some of them being Fishing, Enchanting, Jewelcrafting(Gem/Accessories), and/or Tinkering.

But there is more in this town to pick up before going out. Gambler's Gambling Skill, Hunter's Trapping and Tracking Skills, Farmer's Seed Cultivation, Crop Harvest, and Animal Herding Skills, Tamer's Beast Taming, Beast Training, and Beast Contract Skills. Bard's Instrument Handling, and Singing Skills. A few more lifestyle skills were picked up before going into Combat Skills.

Shield's Shield Bash and Damage Block, Spear's Quick Stab and Sweeping Slash, Sword's Quick Draw and Power Slash, Axe's Power Chop and Axe Throw, Dagger's Vital Strike and Lethal Stab, Blunt Weapon's Power Smash and Heavy Impact, and Heavy(Two-Handed) Weapon's Heavy Strike and Spinning Strike. There is also Light Armor Mastery, Medium Armor Mastery, and Heavy Armor Mastery, that boost Defense when wearing the whole set.

Only then did Baero start focusing hunting mobs, diving dungeons, and actual exploration. He even found a Dungeon with the Exploration Skill that others yet to find.

[ The First to Discover: Hidden Kobold Mine ]

[ Increase Exp Gains by 100% and Drop Rate by 50% for 5 Days in this Dungeon ]

Baero started beating them up and practiced the various builds he designed with all the skills he has. The Kobolds are like Goblin-size wielding Pickaxes and Torches, the ones with torches can inflict Burning Damage.

Kobold Miners dropped 1~3 Char. Exp, Copper Ore x1, and Kobold Pickaxe x1, dismantling their corpses gave Kobold Bones x3-5, Kobold Skull x1, Kobold Hide x1-2, and Kobold Meat x1-2. The Material/Ingredient Grade just Grey but their Quality with Baero is above Mediocre, so just Average or Good. He could get Kobold Blood, but required containers or bottles for that.

Their bones are too weak for Smelting or Forging, could be used for some sort of Ritual, Alchemy, or bone-crafting skill. Kobold Meat is labeled as barely edible due small toxicity, and bad taste. When cured it mostly dried into jerky or ration. Their Hide cannot go above Average as it already in bad condition and when turned into Leather it is labeled as small, so it can only used for equipment that require little leather. It is also considered as normal leather when processed right.

Kobold Torchbearers dropped pretty much the same but instead of Pickaxes, it is their Kobold Torches, a bit of a weaponized torch.

[ Kobold Pickaxe ]

Diving deeper and deeper into the Dungeon, he soon faces Kobold Fighters and then Kobold Warrior(Boss). The comparisons, Kobold Miners and Torchbearers are like Gremlins while Kobold Fighters and the Boss are like humanoid dogs, taller and strong looking. The Fighters dropped their sword and/or leather chestpiece. The Boss dropped a Kobold Warrior Leather Armor Set piece, Kobold Warrior Shield, and Ore Detection Skill.

Baero farmed the Dungeon, with a 10 hour interval since takes 10 hours for the dungeon to reset. He went to other dungeons to experience and thankfully there wasn't many players around, Baero spent a few months leveling skills so most players have moved on from the Beginner Area. There are 3 Dungeons around in the Beginner Area: Skeletal Catacomb, Goblin Village, and ....
