SOMEWHERE IN THE CITY.
"If you don't do your job properly, I will kick you out, even if you are from the great scholar family." "Now get out of here!" An old man screamed at Philip.
He walked out of the room, closing the door on the way.
Philip is from a famous Larkin family where everyone was known for their great minds.
But Philip was an oddball in that family and was nearly kicked out, but because of his father's power, he got a job at the public library in Ziro.
"How can he yell at me like that?" Philip spoke with anger as he walked down the road.
"Fucking old man, when I get the chance, I will fucking kill you," he cursed as he entered the bar.
"One beer, please." Order a drink for him.
"What happened, Philip?" A man in a black cloak asked as if he were close to Philip.
He looked at the owner of the voice.
"Why the fuck do you care, Alex?" Philip asked as he took a sip of his beer.
"Ooh, nothing, just asking," Alex said.
"That hit the spot," Philip said after taking the sip. He then looked at his friend Alex McCoy, who is from a rich family and is now taking on his father's business.
"Hey, listen, that old bastard is working me to death."
Every time I arrange the book that was left on the table by some bitch, when I return, another book is left on the table where I just cleaned.
"It doesn't happen once or twice, but every fucking time, and not only that."
He pauses for a second to take another sip of his beer.
"Burp. Where did I stop?"
"And not only that," Alex replied.
"Yes, yes, that old bastard yells at me every time he sees a book on the fucking table as if I am one of those putting it on the table, and which fucker reads that many books in that short span of time?" "If I were to get my hands on him, I would fucking kill him." Philip continued to curse the head librarian.
"Then why not buy a slave?" Alex suggested.
"Who the fuck will willingly come work at that shithole, even if someone did sign the slave contract with me?" "The next day he would resign and run away." "I can't even stop them because their low-ranking willing slave contract does not have a time limit set for it, which means they can just quit whenever they feel like it."
Philip said this to Alex, who was listening carefully.
"If you want, I have another way," Alex whispered to Philip.
"What else are you referring to?" forced slave contract "Hell no," Philip said as he took another sip of his drink.
"You do know that they are banned in the city, and if they find one on any body inside the city, they will be faced with heavy punishment by the mortal safety federation," Philip said as he finished his drink in one large sip.
"No, not the forced slave contract, but something else that is as effective as the latter." Alex said
which piqued Philip's interest.
"What is this new way of yours?" he asked.
Hearing it, Alex smiled and looked around to see if anyone was looking at them.
"Let's not talk about that here; let's move to my office," Alex said as both of them walked out of the bar and went to Alex's office.
After reaching Alex's office, both sat down, and Alex started to explain.
"My plan is called kidnap and rescue."
"What kind of naming skills did you need to come up with that name?" Philip said, after hearing the childish name.
"Don't go for the name; go for what it does," Alex said.
"Then say your great plan of yours," Philip asked sarcastically.
Alex did not mind his sarcastic tone.
"The plan is simple: I find someone whose ability comes under your criteria of work, kidnap him or her, we then slightly torture them for one week, then you come and buy them from us, saving them from their torture, becoming their savior, and to repay their debt to their savior, they will work their asses off."
You can just lay back and enjoy your free time.
"And if the head librarian asked why you let them work, just say that they are your new assistant; that's all problem solved, but it does cost a little bit more than usual."
Hearing this plan from Alex, he said:
"Okay, go on with your plan; bring me a good assistant."
Philip said with a creepy smile as he felt the plan that Alex said was full proof.
Both laughed with a creepy smile as they went their separate ways.
ONE WEEK LATER IN THE WAGON
Alex was now going from one age to another, attending ceremonies in many villages, to find the person who fit his criteria for being his first customer for his new business.
until he reached a peculiar village where the father of the orphanage was a drunkard and gambling addict.
Not only that, they are also supported by the Roar family.
"It's not like I can find someone that fits the criteria in this odd situation," he said as they reached the village in the morning.
Now what kind of ability will I see today?
One by one, many passed until a kid awakened the ability to swordsmanship, and so on until five others awakened their abilities.
They came one with golden hair and different-colored eyes. Alex looked into this kid's eyes.
which felt like looking inside hell at the same time as looking into the depths of the sea with his red and blue eyes.
but he came out of the daze as fast as he went in.
When the kid placed his hand on the crystal, it started to glow, which meant he had awakened.
But after hearing what Odin said, Alex was shocked to his core.
"You are the one I was searching for," he thought to himself.
He focused his attention on him from then on.
As the age-coming ceremony ended, he always kept an eye on this kid from start to finish.
At night, inside the party, he did find two people missing, one being the kid and the other being the father.
Inside Father Benedict's Room
Inside, Benedict was drinking alcohol, and with that, he was having multiple mood swings, from anger to crying to self-pity.
"What scene?" "A father drinking and self-pitying themselves."
Hearing the sudden voice, Benedict was startled.
"Who is it?" he asked in a room where there was little to no light. The only light in this darkness was his lamp on his table.
"Don't be startled; I am here to make a deal with you that can put your life back on track." Alex, with his hood on, said he had stepped out of the darkness into the light under the lamp.
Hearing this startled him, and he calmed down a little bit.
but still felt fear because after that man came out of the darkness, a new form of pressure was being applied to him, which was only possible if the person he was talking to was a mage or a warrior who could exert force by simply existing until the holdback.
"What deal, sir?" Benedict asked, understanding that his life was at the mercy of the person he was talking to and that the only way out was to hear him out.
"Now we are talking," Alex said as he sat down on the chair in front of Benedict.
"The deal is simple: I need you to give me something, and in return, I will clear all your debt." Alex said as he leaned forward.
"What does this broken man have that, sir, is this generous to pay off my debt?" Benedict said it as respectfully as possible.
"Nothing special; I just want Jishnu."
AFTER A WHILE.
Alex walks out of the room.
"We are clear to pick him up," he said.
"yes master"
as two guards in black cloaks replied as they
INSIDE THE ROOM.
"sorry...sob...sorry..i... didn't...have...choice."
Benedict was crying as he accepted the deal.
"sob...it...was...my....sob...only...way"
OUTSIDE
Jishnu was on the shoulder of one of the guards.
moving out of the orphanage.
as they ran through the corridor.
Anna opened the door to let fresh air in.
only to see startled men with a kid on one of the men's shoulders.
As she thought of screaming, she saw the face of the kid.
Seeing the face, she slowly returned to the door and closed it as if she did not see anything.
the guard, who were startled by the appearances of the women.
as they both thought of killing her, not wanting to leave behind a witness.
but stopped as things can get messy.
as the guard was thinking of how to handle the situation.
The woman turned around at the door and closed it on her way in.
The guards were confused by what the women did, but they started to run faster, not wanting to waste any more time.
They come out of the corridor to the back side of the orphanage, where a horse wagon is standing.
As they closed up to the wagon, they saw Alex standing near it.
"Did anything happen in your way?" Alex asked.
Both guards nod sideways, not wanting to convey the mishap they just had.
"Bring him into the Rat House and say this to Frank."
"only submissive"
Hearing the command, the guards entered the wagon and rode away.
A light wind touched his face, removing his hood from his head.
Alex McCoy, aka Aka, the young priest, looked at the wagon that was slowly disappearing from his sight.
