Ajay was waiting for Diya so he could drive her to her workplace. Seeing him yawn, Karl and Veer giggled to each other; glancing at him with a knowing look. Ajay gave them an irritated look, "What's so funny?"
"It looks like someone didn't sleep well yesterday. What could be the reason?" Karl said; mischievously smiling at him. Ajay signed and decided to stay quiet. He didn't want to argue with them early in the morning. He didn't even know what they were doing that early in his house.
"What are you two even doing here?"
"Don't mind us. We're here to see sister-in-law."
Just as Ajay opened his mouth to retort, he saw Diya coming down. "Good morning," Diya said smiling at them.
Everything still felt surreal to Ajay. He was married to the woman he saw a few days ago. The woman he felt attracted to for the first time in his life. And they're living together; greeting each other 'good morning' like it's a normal thing to do. He did go back to their room to sleep yesterday night but he couldn't do it so with her being so close to him. So he ended up staying awake all night.
"Good morning. Did you sleep well?" This time Ajay didn't give time for those two to talk first. Diya nodded at him and saw her breakfast already prepared on the table. "Ajay, you made this?" she asked him after taking the first bite.
Ajay proudly nodded his head, "Yes. Do you like it?" Diya was once again surprised by his talent. She vigorously nodded her head; smiling at him. "The noodles are delicious." Ajay smiled back at her cuteness and signaled her to continue to eat.
Karl and Veer were happy after seeing the frozen Ajay slowly melting and his smiles changing from being rare to often. They decided to do everything so those two can be together forever. The least they could do for their savior.
Diya was originally going to reject Ajay's request for driving her. But she thought it would be good timing to ask him about yesterday night. "Ajay."
Ajay glanced at her. "Hmm?"
"Why didn't you sleep in the room, yesterday night?" Ajay was surprised at her question. He turned to look at her with a troubled face.
"If you don't want to stay in the same room with me, you can say so. I can move to the guest room. You married me when I asked you for it as a favor without much thought so I'm doing my best not to disappoint you or your family. But you don't need to do the sa-" she was interrupted when Ajay called out her name sternly.
He stopped the car on the side and turned to face her. "First of all, stop mentioning our marriage as a burden. Second, I did come back to the room and lay down in the bed but I couldn't sleep. Why? I'm not sure. Hearing you breathing so close to me somehow drove me crazy. I couldn't afford to stay any longer when I knew I was slowly losing my self control."
Diya was shocked when he said that.
