Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

There were no zombies, but there was a rotting corpse with insects, which emitted a stench, and was tied with an iron chain. It looked like a girl aged between 16 to 20 years old. The corpse was not big in size, and it could be judged from the tattered clothes and blurred face that she should be a young woman.

Based on the chain, this girl had been abused and died before the virus broke out. According to the monitoring device, the green dot was on this corpse's body.

There's one major problem. None of them wanted to check or search the girl's rotting body. So they'd decided to do the rock, paper scissors game. In the end, Sapphire was the chosen one.

She knelt down on the ground very sincerely, her hands and legs were feeling soft, and she kept on whispering, "May you rest in peace." She stretched out her hand, muttering an apology non-stop.

There was a pocket watch hanging around the corpse's neck. There was a photo inside. It was a little girl with black hair and black eyes, and she was with a big boy. They seemed to be siblings.

After apologizing to the poor girl, they clasped their hands and prayed for her soul. They took the pocket watch and observed the attic.

There was nothing in here except for some old bed and furniture. Their space was not big, so they only took some clothes in the closet.

The desk drawer was opened, and there was only a diary and a pen that had no more ink. They returned to the room contentedly. They already found the clues.

They checked the diary found in the attic. Most of the content of the diary was how the girl missed her brother and how her aunt's family abused her.

The owner of the diary was a 20-year-old girl. Her name was Lily. Her parents passed away when she was 10 years old. Her brother went to the army and never came back after that. Her brother's name was Lucas, he was 8 years older than her.

According to her, before they only locked her up, but one day, they put an iron chain on her legs. They said that her brother was a bad person who turned the island into such a hellish place. They vented their anger on her.

Then they didn't bring her any food and water. She was so hungry, her uncle and aunt hadn't brought her food for a long time.

On the last page of her diary, she knew she was dying and wished for her brother's safety and felt bad because she couldn't wait any longer for her brother to pick her up.

You could imagine how the little girl died. In her diary, she mentioned the name of her aunt's family and a girl named Nana who secretly visited her and would tell her what's happening outside.

There's an organization that leaked the virus, which led to the outbreak of the zombie crisis. Lucas, the elder brother of the black-haired oriental girl named Lily, was a soldier.

Because of some issues, he left his younger sister at his uncle's and aunt's house. As a result, the virus broke out, and the entire island country fell.

The couple, who had nowhere to vent their anger, blamed everything on the innocent Lily. The virus started 2 years ago.

They focused on finding an important piece of information in the diary. Before leaving, Lily's brother gave Lily a key or an access control card, just behind the pocket watch photo, and a series of passwords.

He didn't say the specific purpose, but let her meet a soldier in the same clothes as him and report the password, and follow them if they matched. He probably didn't expect his sister to die so early.

This island was very large, and there were many towns. This farm was located on the edge of the small town of Flower Town. Flower Town was located in F City.

All important places in the game in Flower Town were all flower names. This farm was called Rose Farm. Not far from the Rose farm was a canning factory called Marigold Factory.

They memorized the map of the entire Flower Town and surrounding towns. The surrounding towns that were important bases were Gems Town, Greenery Town, Herbal Town, and Color Town.

After memorizing the map, they began to check agricultural magazines and daily news and should be able to find some information about the island and the virus outbreak.

After finding useful information, they'd decided to rest. It was only been a few hours since they'd arrived in this place, but they felt like it was a year.

They only killed less than ten zombies, but they felt like they experienced a long war. Come to think of it, the weakness they felt was not on the physical aspect but mentally and emotionally.

"I don't know how much more I can take," Sapphire said, tears in her eyes. "This is just too much."

"We'll get through this, Sapphire."

Canary nodded, her expression serious. "We need to stay strong and focus on our mission. We can't let our emotions get the best of us."

They sat in silence for a moment, trying to process everything they'd seen and experienced.

"We need to find a way to survive and complete our mission," Canary said, breaking the silence. "We can't stay here forever."

Violet nodded. "I know, but where do we go from here?"

Canary's eyes locked on the diary. "I think we should start by investigating Lily's brother, Lucas. He might have some information that can help us."

Sapphire's eyes widened. "You think he might be alive?"

Canary's expression was hopeful. "It's possible. We won't know until we try."

They sat in silence again, thinking about their next move.

"Let's rest for now," Canary said, breaking the silence. "We'll need all the energy we can get for what's ahead."
