Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

After getting inside the house, they checked every room to see if there was a zombie hiding inside. After making sure there were none, all the energy in their bodies suddenly got drained, and they all sat on the dirty floor. No one had the energy to clean it or complained and was disgusted about how dirty and smelly the place was.

They all took a bottle of water from the space and after just drinking for a bit, the scene where they saw the pile of zombies came back through their mind, and they started retching again.

"This can't go on," Canary said, her voice shaking. "We must adapt faster or we can't do our mission."

Violet nodded, tears in her eyes. "I know, but it's just so hard. I keep thinking about those zombies and how they looked."

Sapphire hugged her, trying to comfort her. "We'll get through this, Violet. We have to."

As they sat and rested for a while, they continued to search the house. According to the mechanical sound, some NPCs were willing to trade, and they needed to think of a good plan to survive.

"In end-time novels, movies, and TV shows, cigarettes, wine, weapons, gasoline, and canned foods are very valuable trade items," Canary said, her brow furrowed in thought. "Although we don't drink it, we might be able to trade it for a good price."

The problem was that because of their looks, it was easy to attract bad people, and they were still not strong enough. It would also affect their tasks.

"We only have a year, and we still need to save people without the Gods noticing it," Violet said, her voice barely above a whisper. "We must think of a good plan."

After sitting and resting for a while, they continued to search. After looking around, they finally found some food in the kitchen. A small bag of flour and a bit of rice in a container. They put it in the space.

All of them had not exercised for a long time, and because of their activities today, their whole body would definitely be sore tomorrow, and the situation would be even worse.

"It's not like we fought so hard," Sapphire said, rubbing her sore muscles. "Thanks to our weapons, we really didn't need to move too much."

Violet nodded. "I know, right? It's just that this kind of activity is still a bit too much for our bodies, who rarely even go outside."

Canary frowned. "We used to work from home, so we spent our time always inside the house."

The living room was on the right front, the kitchen was on the left, and a staircase in the middle led directly to the second floor. They had already searched the living room and kitchen, and they only found flour and rice in the kitchen.

"Did you notice that the living room and the kitchen have no supplies?" Violet asked, her eyes scanning the room. "Yeah, we found rice and flour, but it's very hidden under the kitchen cabinet."

Sapphire nodded. "I also notice that the dust on the table, some part of it was a bit wiped out. Like someone sat on top of it."

Canary was in deep thoughts. It wasn't surprising that someone had already come in here or maybe that person was still in here.

"Did you check the monitoring device?" Canary asked, her eyes locked on Violet.

Violet nodded. "There's no one in here except us. Do you think that person will come back?"

Canary's expression was serious. "I'm not sure, this place is in a green spot. That means this place is not that dangerous, and there's some clues or props in here. I don't know if some players have a monitoring device like us, but there's a high chance they don't since it's only the 3rd day when the game starts."

Sapphire was roaming in the house, finding some clues. "We still haven't checked the attic. Maybe the clues are in there."

The danger of the farm was not high, and there should not be many supplies. They didn't have particularly high hopes. They suspected that the materials on this island were all placed by those who organized this survival game.

The players called the aborigines NPCs and would definitely treat those people as not human beings. Also, all of those players didn't have good characters. This was a big disadvantage, but it could also be an advantage to them if they could think of a foolproof plan.

After searching the rooms on the second floor again, there were four rooms upstairs and one room located downstairs, a total of five rooms, two bathrooms, and one study room. They had found nothing except for some old clothes, magazines, and books.

They didn't need it, but they still put it all in the space, including the beds and cabinets. They took all the things that could be used.

After making sure that all rooms had been checked carefully, they went to the bathroom. Because it was too dark and it looked so gloomy, they just checked it hastily.

There was nothing on the bathroom countertop, but there were cabinets over the toilet and washstand, and the doors were tightly closed. Stepping forward to open it, Violet couldn't help but put a smile on her face.

There was a box of soap and 100 ml of shampoo that was still not used. The cabinet above the toilet had some face towels, a roll of tissues, and a pack of sanitary napkins.

"365 days, a total of twelve menstrual periods," Canary said, her voice relieved. "Fortunately, we don't need to worry about it. The body we're currently using doesn't have it."

They had already asked Zero about it, and he guaranteed that they wouldn't worry about it. But they did feel sorry for those poor female players.

"Not only did they have to face the rioting zombies during their menstrual period, but they also had to face the shortage of sanitary napkins," Sapphire said, shaking her head.

It took an hour to search the entire second floor, except for the attic. There was no food found. They took a deep breath and cautiously searched the attic.

However, the attic, where they had placed high hopes, contained nothing but dust and cobwebs. The attic was dark and gave a terrifying vibe, and it always felt like there would be a zombie that would attack from nowhere.

"I guess we're out of luck," Violet said, disappointed.

Canary nodded. "Let's just hope we can find something useful outside."

They closed the attic door, relieved to be out of the dark, creepy space.
