Chapter 27 - 27 The Truth About You

She approached the washroom door when she noticed it opened and an arm pulled her in. She was caught off guard when a face was near her.

Her eyes widened when she recognized the familiar person. It was the person behind the caller ID.

"What are you doing here?" She asked the person.

"Well, was it him?" A deep concerned voice echoed in the room.

"Yeah." She excitedly said and nodded. Her hands took the person's hand and shook it vigorously.

They both shrieked. Her eyes lit up and felt warm. The person was genuinely happy for her as she wraps her arms around Jasmine.

"But..." She suddenly stopped making the person look at her worriedly.

The person widened her eyes as she takes her hands to Jasmine's shoulders and anticipates as she looked at her with a pensive look.

Jasmine took a deep breath and sighed.

"He's tough." She smirked.

"Oh girl, if he is making you a hard time..." Her voice sounded terrifying.

"Don't fret. I am up for a challenge." She was elated thinking about their interaction.

"You are some kind of weird if you ask me." The person called her out.

"Lea..." Her husky voice can make a person shiver but it doesn't bother Lea one bit for she had known Jasmine for a long time. Her eyes stared deeply at her.

"I know that look." Lea sighed. She folded her arms on her chest and looked back at her meaningfully.

Jasmine's face was full of determination reeking an aura of stability and certainty. She will never let the opportunity pass her by.

"If you are that decided, then I will support you no matter what." She sighed and smiled at her.

Jasmine looked at her friend warmly as her arms hugged Lea.

"Don't get mushy with me. You are an independent woman who puts her head and heart into action." Lea proudly said.

"Thanks but you have to say that because you are my friend." Jasmine joked.

They both laughed heartily.

Lea checked her phone and saw a message. She looked at Jasmine with warmth.

"I got to go." Her voice sadly echoed.

"Sure." She casually said.

She gave her one last look and noticed Lea was dressed to impress. Her eyes lit up and took her whole look in her mind.

"What are you wearing? You look gorgeous." Jasmine blurted out and eyed her from head to toe.

"Oh, I am going on a date. I will meet him 2 blocks from here and I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the guy." She teased her.

"Knock it off. You really are damm hot in that outfit." Jasmine excitedly told her.

Lea smiled as she twirls around with her floral maxi dress. Her hair was loose making her curls natural and her skin fair as the white clouds. She had a stargazer behind her ear making her tropically ready for a date. Her makeup was simple. She used Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette in Sultry. On her lids, she used Fresh as a transition color. Next, she puts Twig on her crease line. Next, she puts dimension with Dystopian on the end of her lids. On her final shade, she used Rose Quartz making the look glow in the lights. She puts Benefit's They're Real Mascara on her lashes. On her lips, she used Colourpop's Beeper making her look natural. She held her clutched her peach Aldo purse as she looked at Jasmine.

"Oh my gosh Lea!! Look at you. I can't believe you look beautiful in that outfit." Jasmine gaped at her.

"Well..." She bashfully turned to look at her reflection as she took in her look. She sighed as she let the nerves let go.

"He will love it." Jasmine stared at her eyes in her reflection. Her eyes showed pride thinking about her brother looking at her with a shocked face.

"I wonder what he will look like when he sees you, Lea." She laughed so hard thinking what it could happen.

She laughed with her and they both hugged each other one last time.

"Enjoy this night, Lea." She whispered at her.

"Same goes with you." Lea whispered back.

They let go of each other as Lea gave her one last meaningful look before she left.

Jasmine's eyes lingered on the door. She imagined how life could have been if she had met him earlier in life.

"What if I have met you and had the courage to talk to you back then? We could have been together." Her frail voice echoed in the wash room making her reminisce that exact moment she laid eyes on him.

She stared at the mirror before her as she gazed on her reflection. She open the faucet and washed ger hands. She applied a spritz of her Jo Malone Cologne while she thought of how the day went for her. She brushed that thought aside as she took a deep breath and opened the door. She has been looking for this day to happen and it did not occur to her sooner.

She was joyful for what had happened today. Her heart rejoiced as she started humming with the song that played on the restaurant. It was Hopelessly Devoted To You by Olivia Newton John.

"Guess mine is not the first heart broken...

My eyes are not the first to cry...

I'm not the first to know...

There's just no getting over you"

She strode towards the table where she met him. He stood tall overlooking the night sky as the sea reflecting the night sky. He was lost in his own world as she stared at him with admiration. She stood like a statue staring at him.

"I know I'm just a fool who's willing...

To sit around and wait for you...

But baby, can't you see there's nothing else for me to do?

I'm hopelessly devoted to you..."

Her eyes stared at his features, memorizing each detail of his face. She was engrossed staring at him when the summer breeze swept around. Her cologne drifted through his nose when he glanced at her. She held an innocent look as if there were no one in her eyes. His eyes turned warmly but sad when he thought of someone else.

He noticed her eyes looking at him, checking him out. He smiled at her to hide the pain in his eyes.

"But now there's nowhere to hide..."

He checked his phone averting his gaze at her. A picture was flashing in his screen like he was in complicated situation.

"Since you pushed my love aside..."

She felt a little jealous over the phone. She thought of grabbing it and throwing it away since it robbed her of the moment.

"I'm out of my head..."

She felt guilty at the same time for acting like a kid and brushed that thought out.

"Hopelessly devoted to you..."

She noticed his eyes staring at her and was overjoyed when he smiled back at her. She felt like melting in his gaze. Her heart fluttered while drowning in his eyes.

"Hopelessly devoted to you..."

She approached him with a beaming smile making people around her look at her. She felt a true victory for once.

"Hopelessly devoted to you..."

She made her way on his side as he glanced at her.

"Well, that was fast." He teased her.

Her eyes widened as she fluttered her lashes. She was not hearing things, wasn't she? She was surprised as she echoed his words in her mind.

"Does he miss me and thinks about me?" Her mind went blank as her heart pounded hard. She felt the air in her lungs that will explode as she held her breath.

He was curious as he looked at her figure not moving. His eyes went from friendly to worry.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked her concerned.

She looked at him with admiration while he looked at her unguarded.

She sighed loudly and pats her chest while recovering from a shock.

He just looked at her amusingly as he deemed the atmosphere lighten. He puts his hand on her shoulder as she was elated with his touch. Her breathing hitched when their skin met. His warm hands making her melt as she savored all in.

"I'm sorry. I was not expecting a statement coming from you. That's all." She casually said and smiled hiding the emotion in her eyes.

"For a minute there, I thought you were hyperventilating." His words made thunder in her ears making her look at him in awe.

He puts his phone in his pocket and looked on his wrist watch.

She noticed him glancing on his watch and asked him, "Are you waiting for someone?"

"Yeah, sort of..." He shrugged but smiled.

His smile blinded her and made her fall for him even more. She felt her whole body jelly as she thought of his touch. She could not shake the thought when she heard him ask her, "Well, are you hungry?"

Her eyes lit up as she heard her stomach growl.

He stared at her and at her stomach. He laughed hard making her blush in embarrassment.

"Don't worry, it's on me." He insisted as his eyes smiled at her, acknowledging her as a new friend.

She looked at him in a trance while making the night memorable for her. Her cheeks turned bright pink as her gaze switch on the sky while closing her eyes, she muttered, "Thank you for this wonderful gift. I'll treasure it forever."

She felt the warm breeze as a response. Her heart filled with delight as she takes this memory deep in her mind, something to reminisce in his absence.

He turned around to a table near the sea view and signaled for her to join him. She walked slowly as she felt the rush of emotions in her heart. The hitching breaths, pounding heart and blushing cheeks are what makes her look subtle and innocent. His eyes lingered on the girl as she approaches him. His mind was thinking of another woman in his head when he looks at her. His eyes were growing depressed in a second that he shifted his gaze on a waiter who was ready to serve them. The waiter handed them a menu. While the waiter waits, she took the menu and peaked through it to catch a glance at him. He was engrossed with the menu that he noticed her action. His eyes smiled at her making her blush embarrassingly. He was amused and called the waiter.

The waiter approached when he asked, "Sir, what are your orders?" He looked at him meaningfully as he glanced at the woman seated across him.

"Give us 2 steaks. I will take medium rare." He said casually.

"For the lady?" The waiter glanced at Jasmine.

"Same as his." She smiled back at him, making eye contact with him.

He smiled at her but he felt uncomfortable with that stare of hers. He brushed it aside and stared at her indifferently.

"Also add chamomile tea for me." She added as she glanced at the waiter.

"She does do what she wants." He thought.

"Is that all sir?" The waiter asked as he checks everything that they ordered.

He looked at her while she stared at him. Their silence meant that it is all.

He glanced at the waiter and answered, "Yes, that's all."

The waiter bowed at them and left as he approached the counter. He prepared them 2 glasses of water and served it to them.

"Please enjoy your night." He said enthusiastically.

Jasmine's ears perked up. Those words lingered in her mind. It felt like this person in front of her is acquainted by the waiter. As her mind thought of possibilities, she stared at his figure while he checks his phone and taps busily.

The restaurant suddenly turned busy as people started to come and dine in. There were so many aromatic scents lingering in the air as she felt herself salivate. Her eyes searched around and settled at the view while waiting for their order to come.

"This is surreal." She sighed as she fluttered her eyelashes and glanced at him.

"If being friends with him will get me a better chance of being close to him, I'll take it." She thought as she smiled sweetly as the warm breeze passes by.

He finished what he was doing when he glanced at her. He was amused by her daydreaming.

She noticed him staring at her figure with his phone on his hand making her blush. A few strands of her hair are on her face and the breeze making her hair float in the air. She stared at the view and was aware at his stare.

A picturesque scene unfold in front of him but he was still looking at her differently. He was thinking of another person in front of him. Her heart was frustrated but she took this as a challenge to conquer his heart.

Suddenly a man approached them. He had his hair combed back wards making him look clean and sophisticated. He has a blue and white shirt that exudes a marine look. He also had his wrist watch in blue leather as his trousers are in a shade of navy blue. He also has his vans on his feet.

She glanced his way when she saw the man's face. She turned her head at the man in front of her and the man that approached them. Her eyes widened as her mouth gaped.

The man infront of him noticed her reaction and the man approached them glanced at her. They both laughed heartily and had a sympathetic smile on them.

"You guys are twins?" She had her hand on her mouth as she covered the shocked expression.

"Yeah. You are Jasmine, right?" The man that approached them asked her.

"Yes...but how did you know me?" She asked him curiously.

"I am a friend of your brother, James." He gave her a knowing look.

"Oh wow. I haven't met you until today." She laughed out loud.

"You knew her?" The man in front of her asked.

"Yeah." He looked at him and nodded. He turned at Jasmine and asked, "Did you know who he is?"

"Well, I..." She mumbled. She looked away and thought about her conflicted mind if she will tell them or not.

"How rude of you, brother. She doesn't even know your name." Charles teased while he laughed.

"Well, I wanted her to know after but then you came and you actually know her." His frustration was evident in his voice.

Charles took a seat and looked at his brother and Jasmine.

"Should I tell her or you still plan on telling her at the end?" He smirked at him.

"The latter." He replied at his brother.

"Sure. Are you guys on a date?" He asked them. His eyes scanning them like an eagle.

Jasmine's face turned red while his brother looked at him indifferently.

He laughed and choked a little.

"This is awkward. I should go. See you around, Alexander." His eyes shone as he teased his brother.

His brother glared at him while Jasmine stared at the two brothers.

"Alexander..." She mumbled but still can be heard.

He glanced at her making her blush.

"It's a wonderful name." She smiled at him.
