His face turned dark when he noticed his brother in the opposite direction at the corridor of the their room.
Zach noticed his friend looking at a figure and glanced at the direction he was looking at. He put his arm in Alexander's shoulder and suggested, "Do you want to know what I saw?"
Alexander glanced at him and said, "Nah, I know what happened."
"Hmm, ok. Though you seem really upset seeing someone tonight. How about we catch up another time." Zach suggested.
"Ok. See you soon." Alexander said.
Zach pats his friend's back and saw his friend leave the resto with take out food in his hands. He hoped for Alexander's happiness. He took out his phone and tapped the game he was playing a while ago. He glanced at the disappearing figure in front of him. He felt sorry for his friend.
"If only he knew what peril he is in..." He whispered in the wind and heavily sighed.
In the corridor near Alexander's room...
Charles wanted to say his regards to Alexander when he realized Alex was in the room with him. He hesitated to knock on the door and turned the other way around when a voice called out his name.
"Charles..." a man voice called out. His aura was so cold. Anyone hearing his voice right now might tremble from their knees and regret turning around. His eyes was looking at his figure. It's like there are icicles forming in his path.
Charles turned around and saw his brother approaching him. He put on his serious plastered face and looked at his direction. He saw Alexander with a take out bag on his right hand and saw through Alexander's thoughts.
"Is that for Alex? I was just passing by and I was about to tell you that we are leaving." His demeanor changed when he saw Alexander's eyes calmed down. He knew Alexander not just because they were twins but they were close when they were little. They do everything together and go to same classes. They always have each other's back no matter what. Twins may look alike but are different inside.
"Hmm yes, it's for her." Alexander nodded and looked at his watch. He looked at Charles and added, "You have to go now. Your honeymoon awaits."
Charles looked at him and nodded. "Yeah, I should get going. See you soon brother." He looked at Alexander with a smile hiding his frustration and left.
Alexander stared at the Charles back until he turned around and went opposite to where Alex is. He sighed a breath of relief. He thought to himself, "Why do I get a feeling that Charles has feelings for Alex? Hmm probably just because they were childhood friends. It's probably nothing." When he reached the door, he just stood there and wandered through his thoughts. "What if..." He shut his eyes for a moment when suddenly his eyes went big.
In the room...
Alex finished showering when the song ended. She changed into her new set of clothes prepared by the housekeeper. She went to the washroom to dry her hair and decided to turn on the tv. She sat on the bed and changed channels when she stopped at a horror movie.
She saw a woman dress in white panting in the screen. She was running through the forest on her feet when she looked behind and hear breaking branches not far away from her. He facial features was so innocent not even the dirt on her face can't ignore her beauty.
Alex whispered to herself, "Run girl, run!"
Even though she was exhausted from running, she put on a determined face. The screen was directed on her face when she heard someone shouting, "Help! Please somebody, anybody..." A woman's voice trailed of. She was so distressed that she tried to find where the voice is coming from. She leaned on a tree to rest and heard another voice.
"Help anyone. We are lost in these woods. Please help us!" The voice of another woman was heard. The sound of heart pounding was heard in the tv.
Alex grabbed the pillow beside her and dugged her fingers on it. She was feeling the intensity of the scene. She held the remote control near her and half of her face is now hiding in the pillow.
The woman in white searched for them until she saw flashlights on her way. She went into the direction where the lights where when all of a sudden the lights are on her. She breath a sigh of relief and said, "Yes, actual people. I have been running so long." She catches her breath.
Alex breath a sigh of relief too. She was immersed in the movie.
She looked at the people flashing their lights on her and asked her, "What is this place? We are lost and we were camping when something chased us out of nowhere."
"This forest is full of stories, legends to be exact. Some stories are true about this place. To be honest, this is the place we should not be in right now." The woman answered. She was about to ask them when they heard broken branches. The lights flashed where she came from but nothing was there. The music turned down but the atmosphere changed. It turned cold suddenly and felt someone was watching them. One character said, "Probably just one critter out there." The woman in white felt chills run her spine.
She suddenly said, "Someone is following me." The woman looked behind them and her face changed. The screen was only showing the woman's face when it shifted into a horrible monster. The music turned up when the door of the room suddenly opened.
"Aaahhhh!!" Alex shrieked.
"Aaaaahhhh!!" Alexander was surprised.
Alex threw the pillow at the door, grabbed the remote and her hand stopped midway when she looked at the figure who entered the room. She realized that it was Alexander that opened the room. She was embarrassed by what had happened. She jolted up and walked calmly at Alexander. Her face was red when she stood in front of Alexander.
"I'm sorry if I scared you. I was watching a movie and it got intense." Alex shyly said.
"You scared the crap out in me."
He laughed.
She giggled.
"This is for you. I ordered it since you were drenched in the rain some time ago. This will help you warm up. Eat it." Alexander said.
"Uhm, why don't we eat it together? Since you were drenched also and tired as well. You should join me. I can't eat it all you know." Alex suggested.
Alexander looked at Alex and nodded.
"Ok but I have to change as well. Be back in a bit." Alexander said.
"Take your time. It will be ready when you are finished." Alex said.
Alexander went into the shower and got changed. He then thought about what Zach told him. His thoughts wandered but he threw them all at the back of his mind and finished changing. When he was done, he saw Alex prepared the table for them to eat. He stared at her and noticed how she was calmly waiting. His heart warmed up. "She really is a wife material." His thoughts trailed of when he heard Alex voice.
"The food is ready. Let's eat."
Alexander shook his head, went to the table and sat across Alex. He looked at the soup prepared for him. He was touched.
She glanced at him and was glad that he liked how she prepared the soup. She wanted to thank him so much that she sat there staring at him thinking of ways to repay him.
Suddenly, she had butterflies in her stomach when she saw Alexander not touching the soup.
She asked him, "Is there something wrong?"
He stared at the soup vaguely.
"Is it hot?" She got worried.
He did not move any muscle.
