Chapter 3 - 3 The Date

Alex slept well and forgot about the note she read last night. As her normal routine, she wakes up, took a bath, brushes her teeth, and dress up for work. Her family owns a small time business. She works for them daily and has an allowance to live on her own. Her parents are very supportive of what she wants do in life. She may live carefree but still deal with everyday life.

"How is my little princess doing?" Father asked.

"I'm good and still searching what I really want to do." Alex replied.

"Do you want to study anything at the moment?" Mother asked.

"Not now. I'm still helping you here in the business. I still care about both of you." Alex replied.

That made them melt their hearts.

It was 5:30pm when she remembered the note. She was in distraught if she will go or not. "I don't want his earphones anyway so I should go but I will not stay long. I will hand him his earphones and leave. That I can do."

She whispered to herself.

She bid farewell to her parents. She took a bath, changed into a sleek black dress and put light makeup on. She stashed her makeup essentials with her. She brought her MAC Powder, MAC Lipstick, ABH Modern Renneissance Palette, Charlotte Tilbury Eyeliner and Too Faced Mascara. She puts them all in a pouch. She puts her hair into a high pony tail and put on her heels. She hailed a cab and went to the restaurant holding his earphones in her pouch.

It was 10 mins past 6 when she arrived. She went inside the restaurant and did not see the mystery man. She was about to leave when the mystery man showed up. She blushed upon seeing him. He was in his black tuxedo, brushed up hair. He exudes a charismatic aura that everyone in the restaurant seems to be looking in his direction. He smiled at her like he was satisfied with what he is looking right now.

"Hi..." Alex mustered to utter a word but gulped in his presence.

"Was I late? I'm sorry. Seems like I lost track of time." He said.

"I just arrived. I think I was late. I'm sorry." Alex said.

"You were about to Lea..." He said.

"No, I was looking for you to return your earphones." Alex interrupted.

He pretended to be surprised.

"Oh, Is that why you came here to meet me?" He asked.

"Yes." Alex replied without hesitation.

"Can we have a table for 2 please?" He said to the waiter.

The waiter nodded and lead them to the most beautiful view in the restaurant.

Alex hesitates to join him but she heard her stomach rumble. She might as well join him today and never let the man see her again. As the waiter handed the menu, she sneaked a peak on the man's direction. She was caught staring at him.

She asked him, "What will you order?" She felt embarrassed. She hid in her menu and whispered, "What was I thinking?"

The man was charmed by her and smiled. He replied, "I will get a steak and the lady..."

"A steak as well." Alex replied.

The waiter left with their orders. A glass of water is served in front of them and Alex took a sip to calm her nerves.

"I came here to return your earphones..." Alex said.

"About that..." He interjected.

Alex was confused.

"I was wondering if you could be my date in my event today." He said.

Alex widened her eyes in disbelief. Is this man real? She was wondering why he choose her and not Lea.

He saw Alex's reaction. He gave her a look and added, "It is for this night, I will not ask again." He promised.

She pondered her thoughts and asked, "Why me?"

He replied, "Why you? It's simple."

His eyes sparkled like the stars in the sky. He stared deeply into her brown eyes.

"I like you."

Alex heart skipped a beat. She could not take it in. It was like a wave that engulf her into the bottom of the ocean. What have I gotten myself into. This was unreal. She can still hear his voice say, "I LIKE YOU".

Alex stood up, she could not take what she just heard. "Please excuse me, I will go to the washroom." Alex said.

Her hand was held by the man. She stood there like a statue and slowly her eyes looked at where their hands meet. She could not understand what was really going on.

His eyes stared at her genuinely. "Can you please be my date today?"

She stared at his deep brown eyes. The song playing in the restaurant was "Brown Eyes" by Destiny's Child. She felt that this guy was honest.

"Ok." Alex looked straight in his eyes. She calmly sat down.

"Thank you." He sighed with relief.

As the atmosphere tensed down, their food was served. While Alex is eating, the man secretly looks at her. He felt that this is the woman worth the wait. He was so busy with his work that he did not pay attention at any woman before but she caught his eye. She was different and now that he has her,he would not let her go away.

Alex caught him staring at her. She asked, "Is there something you want to tell me?"

He said, "Ah yes, call me..."

"Alex!!!" a voice was heard not far from their table.

They both stared at the man who is approaching their table.

"Zach, why are you here?" The man asked.

"Alex, when are you showing up at your sister's wedding?" Zach asked.

Alex was about to say, "Do I know y..."

Alexander answered, "After meeting with my date."

"That's the first. When did you have a date?" Zach asked.

"Just today. Let me introduce you to Alex. Alex, this is Zach. Zach, this is Alex." Alexander replied.

Zach and Alex shake each other's hand.

"Nice meeting you, Zach." Alex said.

"The pleasure is all mine." Zach replied.

Alex plastered a smile on her face. Deep inside, she was not expecting that she will be on a date with Alexander in his sister's wedding. This just went up the roof.

Alex and Alexander billed out and left the restaurant with Zach.

Alex wanted to hail a cab when Alexander grabbed her arm and showed her his motorbike. "We will go to my sister's wedding with this."

A shocked expression plastered in Alex's face. She had not ridden a motorbike before not even with someone too. Alex was still in a daze when Alexander handed her the extra helmet.

"This is for you. Put it on."

"..."

"Are you going to stay like a statue?"

Alex finally woke up with a tap on her shoulder and nodded.

Alexander started the engine. Alex put on her helmet and stared innocently at the seat at Alexander's back. She climbed and assured Alexander she is ready to go but Alexander took her hands and placed it on his abdomen. Alex shyly looked away to hide her nervousness.

"I need you to be stable while travelling. We need to stay balanced otherwise we will stumble along the road." Alexander said with a reassuring smile.

"Ok." Alex replied.
