Gary had already asked once, and Gao Yang asked again. It wasn't because he had issues or was idle; he just needed James to confirm it once more.
James answered firmly. He could do anything, meaning as long as he gets paid, he'd have to say goodbye to his past life.
Money isn't easy to earn. Three hundred thousand British pounds is a lot of money, and getting it all at once isn't possible through lawful means, so one can only resort to crooked paths.
Maybe thinking his answer wasn't clear enough, James tightened his grip on the top hat in his right hand and shouted, "I'm willing to do anything, anything! You pay, I'll do it!"
Gary knew that Gao Yang and his group were mercenaries. He didn't have a job for James, so he remained silent. The rest was between Gao Yang and James, whether James's demands were reasonable, or whether Gao Yang's demands were reasonable, it had nothing to do with him.
