The village wasn't very large, with a population of just over two hundred people, but unlike the typical villages in the Chinese region of Jiangnan, the houses here were quite loosely spaced, making it not too difficult to hide oneself, especially for Mr. Su Bai and the Prince.
The two didn't rush to approach the church but merely surveyed the situation broadly before splitting up. Mr. Su Bai continued wandering around the village to observe, while the Prince was tasked with poisoning the well.
Mr. Su Bai could control the ice to refract light effectively, thus erasing his presence from others' sightlines. Therefore, whenever he saw a villager pass by, he simply stood still, and the other person would hardly see him.
As he walked, Mr. Su Bai confirmed that the village was quite ordinary, of course, excluding the church. Apart from the church, everyone living there was just a regular person.
