When the Mecha is half-kneeling, the pilot only needs to back into the cockpit, which opens like a shell, gently wrapping around the pilot before ascending to the chest.
Fatty is full of praise for this design. In critical moments, this boarding method is clearly more convenient and safer than climbing up and then squeezing into the cockpit.
