William crossed his legs while reading through the documents Beto had brought him this morning.
Although he continued flipping through the pages calmly, his thoughts had been on Thalia the entire time.
After monitoring her all night, no tails had appeared. And her drunken words from yesterday bothering him more than her tails didn't magically appear.
"Betray her…?"
He unconsciously muttered the words out loud, causing Beto to immediately lean forward.
"What is it, Boss?" Beto asked carefully.
William slowly lowered the document in his hand.
"If…" he started quietly, "someone suddenly accused you of betraying them in their drunken state…"
Beto blinked.
"Did you?" he asked honestly.
William stared at him blankly for a second before letting out a quiet sneer.
"Let me finish my question."
Beto coughed awkwardly before quickly straightening himself. "Go on, Boss."
William leaned back against the chair slowly.
