Thalia walked back toward her room quickly while Tiara hurried after her.
"Lia—wait!"
Tiara finally managed to catch her hand right in front of the room door.
"Did you hear everything?" she asked breathlessly before narrowing her eyes suspiciously. "And earlier—you were only asking that out of spite, right?"
Her brows furrowed deeper, "It's not like you actually forgot him again?"
Thalia immediately looked away. Seeing that reaction alone already gave Tiara her answer.
"You really heard everything…" Tiara muttered under her breath.
Thalia pressed her lips tightly together before slowly leaning her back against the wall beside the door.
"I know he said it because he was worried about me," she whispered weakly.
Her eyes slowly lowered afterward, "But hearing him talk so easily about letting me go still hurts…"
Tiara gently rubbed Thalia's hand comfortingly.
"I understand… but—"
Her words suddenly stopped midway when she noticed Thalia's gaze shifting elsewhere.
