Thalia slowly blinked her eyes open. She didn't even remember when she fell asleep.
The only thing she remembered was arriving home late at night and barely being able to keep her eyes open before collapsing onto the couch for "just a while."
Looking around the bedroom groggily, she couldn't find William anywhere.
"Hubby…" she called softly.
No answer.
"Did he already leave for work?"
Still half asleep, she reached for her phone on the bedside table.
"Huh?" She blinked groggily at the screen. "Seven? It's only seven?"
Slowly pushing the blanket away, Thalia dropped her legs off the bed.
Then she padded quietly toward the bedroom door.
The moment she stepped out, she heard a faint voice coming from the balcony at the end of the second floor hallway.
"What do you mean Elijah won't be back until next year?"
William's voice became clearer the closer she got.
