Chapter 1 - What feels like a dream

(I had no mother. No father. Nor sister nor brother, just me and myself. That was it, only me. Nothing had stopped. I learned skills, magic, sorcery, witchcraft, dark magic and even Physical craft. Essentially I became the master of everything…but I wasn't. I had no love, no desire, no passion and no self respect. I had no family to care for, no wife to provide or protect. I had nothing. I just listened to orders. Killed because I had too, not because I wanted too. Blood dripped off my hands in droves and in oceans waves. Guts hanged off every part of my bone and skin. Soul drench in a never ending torment of screams! I WANTED IT TO STOP! IT HURT! IT HURT SO MUCH! And so I made it stop, my first desire and passion. I died by killing myself.)

Summer Rose came up over a hill, a place that was familer and less dangerous then were she was just hours ago. She heard the sounds of playful laughter that so gently tugged at her heart and warmed the inside of her soul. When she came just slightly over she could see two children running around in joyous circles, one hopping to get the other. A man sat on a small porch with a soft tender smile full of gladness, her husband Taiyang Xiao long. Her two children play before, Yang and Ruby.

When the two children saw that their beloved mother arrived they rushed over in delight, hugging her legs and berating her with questions. "Mom! You came back! Tells us about the mission! Please!" That was Yang, her eyes were full of burring energy that sprang with every movement. "Yea! Tell us! Tell us!" And that was Ruby, her silvers eyes matching her mothers like they were twins. "Now, now. Your mother just got back." Tai interrupted with a calm chuckle as he came over. "Maybe if you let her rest for bit, she might possibly tell you." Tai added with a tease. The two children looked up at their mother with pleading eyes. "Promise?" Ruby asked tenatively, extending her pinky. "Promise." Summer replied, kneeling down on one leg and holding Ruby's tiny pinky with hers, sealing the promise.

With that said the the children then rushed back to playing around, letting Summer and Tai have some time to themselves. "How was the mission. Was it difficult?" Tai smiled looking at Summer. "Nothing a few Beowolves couldn't handle!" Summer said. Then she looked around curious like someone was missing. "Where's Amethyst?"

Tai sighed and gestured inside the house and it's a finger. "Inside. I think he said his head was hurting." Tai said.

Amethyst lay on his bed, dazed and confused. (Does reincarnation really exist? How? I thought- how did that even- why? When it come to this? I never did one thing right in my whole life, never once. Just killed and destroyed. I never had a…family before?) "Amethyst? Hey, you feeling any better?" Summer asked knocking on side of the door frame. (Right, that's my name now. Guess I should get used to it.) "S-sort of." Amethyst mumbled out, turning his head. Summer studied him for a moment before walked over to his side and plopping down beside him. "Moms gonna make dinner soon, will be able to join us?" Summer ask looking at Amethyst.

(I assume it wouldn't hurt. I haven't eaten anything since this morning so…) "Yea." Replied softly. Summer smiled and leaned down to kiss him on the forehead. "Okay. Get some more rest while I make dinner."

A day past like Summer break and Amethyst was still slightly dazed by the events but was working around the house. He cleaned the beds, washed the dishes, and even helped clean the house too despite Summer's disapproval.

Today though was a special as Summer and Tai came inside the house carrying boxes. "Kids! We have something special for all of you!" Summer exclaimed setting down a box on the living room floor. Yang and Ruby crawled from the couch onto the floor toward the boxes. "What is it!" Ruby asked, her body buzzing with excitement. Yang quickly opened the box as she could contain herself anymore. "It's paper for you three to draw on." Tai chuckled out with a smiled as he watched the two children take out the tools and paper and start drawing. "I'm gonna draw Mom!" Yang exclaimed in a contest, Ruby grinned and started scribbling. "Well then I'll draw our Family!" She retorted back just as eagerly.

Amethyst sat at the table looking at his siblings with wonder. (Is this how siblings interact with each other or must they draw to care for each other? How does this work?) Thoughts plauged him like dust particles and confusion was staring to rise. So to evade more of these thoughts he grabbed a pen and started to draw silently drew on his body, particularly his torso and chest area. It was in a circle with four small humps outside a in diagonal angle. Next he drew lines inside that make towards the middle, then he drew two more circles making small squares. (Phew. Seems being precise is still my specialty.) He thought mildly as he continued. He then drew an A on the top left hump for Armor, S for Strength on upper right hump, R for Regeneration and E for Evlove on both lower humps. When the process was done, Amethyst sighed. This was a risk, but a necessary one at that. If he needed to survive in this new world while trying to learn about his family then he needed a strong body. "Amethyst! Look! Do you like it!" Ruby asked showing her drawing, snapping him out of his thoughts. Amethyst turned to look at the drawing. It was as good a child could draw and for some reason…a smile creeped up on his face. "Yes, yes. I very much love it. It's pretty." Amethyst mutter softly in awe. Ruby beamed with joy and hugged her brother. "Thank you!" She shouted as she then released and rushed back over to Yang.

Later, Summer walked over to Amethyst to see if he drew anything but found he didn't, which was a stark contract to Ruby and Yang. "Is something the matter Amethyst?" She asked looking her son. Amethyst looked up at her mother with surpise. "Oh! Nothing, just wondering what to draw. I'm thinking of drawing a tree with you next to it? Wha do think?" He asked inquisitively. Summer smiled and kissed his head gently. "Sounds lovely." She said heading back over to Yang. Amethyst decided that's what he would draw so he started working. The streaks of the pencil, the slow motion of the filling and the smooth flow of the hand slowly created the tree. Next was his mother. The curving up lines of the body and the circular shapes of the head and the short cut hair. (Almost done. But what will she think? Is this perfect enough for her? Does this need more refinement? Will be enough for her love? Is this how human understand love? I'm still trying to undertand) More dejecting thoughts started to intrude his mind but he shook them off, but they lingered and stayed as he finished drawing.

When he had finally finish drawing, hand hurting and eyes straining he set down the pencil and leaned back in his chair. Summer came over to check up on him and gasped in suprise. "Wow. Amethyst, did you make this? This is amazing. So pretty and beautiful, I love it." Summer muttered softly in awe. Tai walked over to see and even he was surprised. "This is abnormal skill for a child your age, but hey I can't complain." He said with a smile. The rest of the family awed and praised Amethsyt for this work which was incredible for his age.

Later that night, Amethyst was outside on the porch. Staring up at the shattered moon. Memories collected inside his head. Three moons, red, blue and white. One was destroyed in half, red. The other look had a hole in the middle, blue. While the white moon was whole. So to him seeing a shattered white moon was normal. "What's wrong sweetie, what are you doing out here?" Summer asked softly walking out onto the porch. Amethyst didn't even glance at her, he could hear her walking from the living room. "Couldn't sleep well, that's all. Why are you awake, Mom?" Amethyst asked calmly. Summer strode over and sat next to him on the porch, legs hanging off. "I see." She smiled. "Isn't the moon beautiful. Nobody knows how become like that." She continued. Amethyst glanced at her with mild interest but looked back at moon. "Yea, it's very pretty. However…do you ever imagine what it be like if it was whole?" He asked looking at his mother. Summer turned to look at her son before her. "What do mean?" She questioned. "Like do you imagine stuff? Like being loved?" Amethyst continued, voice softly trembling. Summer hugged her child tightly, nuzzling her face in his shoulder. "Oh, Amethyst. I always love you. You don't have to imagine it nor pay or obtain it, you know it. It's always there!" Summer told as tiny drops of tears dripped down her face. Amethyst hugged back in return and he too, started to cry.

That night, he slept with passion, desire, care and love.
