Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Defense

After school, Sephiroth and Takagi Saya went to the Kendo club. Upon entering the dojo, they saw the club's commander, Busujima Saeko, practicing.

Noticing Sephiroth and Takagi Saya, Busujima Saeko approached them, bowed, and politely smiled at Takagi Saya, "Sephiroth-kun, did you bring your girlfriend to visit today?"

"That's right!"

"No way!"

Sephiroth and Takagi Saya's voices rang out simultaneously.

Takagi Saya immediately turned her head and glared at Sephiroth, readily admitting it without hesitation.

"Haha. Sephiroth-kun is teasing a girl again. That's not what a gentleman would do." Busujima Saeko chuckled, looking at Sephiroth, who was turning his face away from Takagi Saya.

"I've never been a gentleman." Sephiroth shrugged and went into the changing room.

"This guy..." Takagi Saya gritted her teeth, watching Sephiroth's retreating back.

"Cough!" Busujima Saeko cleared her throat, waking Takagi Saya.

"Excuse me! I'm Takagi Saya, and I'm here to visit the Kendo club today." Takagi Saya quickly bowed.

"Excuse me. I'm Busujima Saeko, the head of the Kendo club. It's an honor for us to have you here, Takagi-san. Please follow me." Busujima Saeko returned the greeting, gesturing with her hand.

"Thank you." Takagi Saya thanked her and followed Busujima Saeko to the dojo.

"Then I'll excuse myself first." After seeing Takagi Saya to her destination, Busujima Saeko walked towards Sephiroth, who had already changed his clothes and was standing nearby.

"Sephiroth-kun seems to have quite an opinion about my attire today, doesn't he?" Busujima Saeko said, standing in front of Sephiroth and smiling.

"I was complimenting Saeko-senpai's beauty," Sephiroth said seriously.

"Oh? Could I interpret that as Sephiroth-kun teasing me?" Busujima Saeko narrowed her eyes at Sephiroth.

"I am teasing," Sephiroth nodded solemnly.

"As the captain of the Kendo club, it seems I need to properly teach you proper etiquette towards your senpai," Busujima Saeko said with a smile, pointing her wooden sword at Sephiroth.

"Then please, senpai, instruct me." Sephiroth bowed and led the way towards the dojo's airspace.

"Here we go again..." Takagi Saya heard a member of the resting club muttering to herself.

"Excuse me, does this happen often?" Takagi Saya asked curiously.

"It happens once every two or three days," the student nodded slightly.

"I see..." Takagi Saya frowned, looking at the two men locked in a sword duel.

"Initially, it was because Sephiroth was constantly eyeing the commander, and as a result, the commander's admirers found them. Sephiroth used his swordsmanship to defeat them all, so the commander, who also studied swordsmanship, sought out Sephiroth. After that, for some reason, the two of them frequently found excuses to spar in swordsmanship." The student was very gossipy, which saved Takagi Saya the trouble of asking further questions.

"Swordsmanship?" Takagi Saya wasn't skilled in sports, so she didn't understand the meaning of swordsmanship.

"That's the ancient sword technique, a shortened name, the true swordsmanship used for combat, not the current competition swordsmanship. Ah, I really want to learn swordsmanship. I wonder where that Sephiroth guy learned it from; he's not inferior to the captain." The student muttered.

"Not inferior to Busujima senpai? But that guy doesn't have any fame at all?" Takagi Saya said strangely.

"Because he doesn't have a rank, he doesn't qualify to participate in the competition." The gossiping student explained.

"No rank?" Takagi Saya felt that today was the day she used the most questions.

According to his way of speaking, it's "Too boring." The Eight Trigrams student spread his hands and said.

"Uh..." "He really will do it." Takagi Saya thought of Sephiroth's absent-minded appearance all day.

While Takagi Saya was talking to the Eight Trigrams Academy students, Sephiroth and Busujima Saeko's training, or rather, their sparring, had begun.

Busujima Saeko stepped forward, her wooden sword slashing towards Sephiroth's head.

Sephiroth swung his sword, deflecting Busujima Saeko's sword, then made a half-circle thrust.

Busujima Saeko dodged the blow, then raised her sword and thrust towards Sephiroth's chest.

Sephiroth dodged the sword with a sideways movement, then swung his sword towards Busujima Saeko's shoulder.

Busujima Saeko retracted her sword, using it to block the attack.

"You're very excited today, senpai," Sephiroth said, suppressing his anger. Busujima Saeko leaned closer and whispered, "Because Sephiroth-kun disappeared for a few days, I'm so lonely. So lonely." Busujima Saeko used both hands to resist Sephiroth's grip.

"Well, I really am guilty of a grave sin. As an apology, I'll accompany senpai to vent my frustrations properly." Sephiroth said, taking a step back, releasing the restraint and assuming a defensive posture.

"Haha." "As expected of my junior," Busujima Saeko revealed her charm and smiled, taking a straight step forward and slashing towards Sephiroth.

Slashing vertically, parrying, slashing horizontally, parrying, obliquely, parrying, thrusting upwards, parrying...

Watching Sephiroth completely one-sidedly parry Busujima Saeko's attacks, Takagi Saya was a little confused, "Are you sure that guy isn't inferior to Busujima senpai?"

"Because Sephiroth disappeared for a few days before, the commander probably planned to teach this guy a lesson again. Sephiroth usually lets the commander vent his anger. Ah, everyone clearly thinks the two of them are a couple, and they have feelings for each other, so why haven't they officially started dating?" "I'm not sure?" The Eight Trigrams student started thinking nonsense again.

Takagi Saya turned her head and looked around, noticing that the surrounding students had stopped observing, all calmly watching as if it were a habit. Noticing this, Takagi Saya couldn't help but clench her fists, staring intently at Sephiroth, who was still acting like a pile of sand.

"Your little girlfriend seems to be watching you," Busujima Saeko said in a low, breathless voice, after delivering a heavy blow to Sephiroth.

"Not yet, she still has someone she can't let go of." "But my ideal main partner is definitely Senpai," Sephiroth chuckled, looking at Busujima Saeko.

Thanks to Xenovia's cell regeneration ability, he can quickly divide into new, vibrant cells and break down useless ones. As long as the rate of consumption is slower than the rate of cell regeneration, Sephiroth can achieve unlimited stamina.

"Hmph!" "Let's see if you have that trick up your sleeve." Busujima Saeko tightened her grip again, trying to restrain Sephiroth.

"Haha, I think so, senpai." Sephiroth's hand moved slightly, the wooden sword swung, and Busujima Saeko was thrown to the ground along with it.

Although Busujima Saeko managed to regain her balance before hitting the ground, Sephiroth's whispered words still made her blush.

"Again, Saeko~" Unable to bear hearing it several times, Busujima Saeko glared at Sephiroth, then left the dojo to change her clothes.
