Chapter 19 - 019 The Farm's Defense Was Upgraded To The Second Level

Chen Wei no longer needed to fret over exchange points; he could easily rack up seven million a day and use them at his leisure.

With consistent cultivation, his exchange point balance was bound to grow steadily.

Having depleted his exchange points, Chen Wei resumed his training in the courtyard, practicing the Mountain Splitting Palm and Lightning Step, while also working on his Heavenly God Physique technique.

This intense session of cultivation consumed the whole day.

By nightfall, he was just coming to.

Little Chen Mei was still playing near the farm, safely under the watch of a guard robot, allowing Chen Wei to relax. After preparing dinner, he called out to MeiMei, "MeiMei, time to come in and eat."

"Coming, brother!" Her cheerful voice floated back to him. Chen Wei watched as she rode on the shoulder of the Beginner Guard Robot, waving excitedly before they both returned to the courtyard.

Seeing this, Chen Wei's face broke into a smile. He scooped up the little girl in his arms and headed into the house.

The Beginner Guard Robot remained steadfast, keeping a vigilant eye on the courtyard.

As night enveloped the land, a chorus of beastly roars pierced the silence—a sound unheard in previous evenings.

Chen Wei's brow furrowed at the cacophony.

Clearly, the number of mutated fierce beasts was on the rise, spreading through the area.

Behind Chen Wei's farm, on the mountain, a grisly tableau unfolded.

A mutated wild wolf was besieged by three mutated wild boars. Both the wolf and the boars were massive, each the size of an adult elephant on Earth.

The wolf was riddled with wounds, sporting two gaping holes in its belly, each as wide as a baby's arm.

But the wolf did not flee. Instead, it fixed a ferocious glare on the wild boars, its eyes gleaming with increased savagery. With a deep growl, it lunged at one of the mutated boars.

Ten minutes later, the three mutated wild boars lay defeated, their blood staining the earth. The mutated wolf didn't go for their bodies; instead, it gnawed on the heads of all three boars.

Before long, the heads of the three wild boars were gruesomely split open, and from within, three black crystals, each the size of a thumb, tumbled out.

With a haunting howl, the fierce wolf issued a high-pitched cry and, in just a few bites, devoured the three black crystals.

It was evident that shortly after consuming the crystals, the wolf's wounds miraculously healed, and its menacing aura intensified.

With a thunderous roar that shook the forest, the fierce wolf unleashed an aura of unbridled ferocity, silencing the wilderness.

It had ascended to a new level, transforming into a second-level fierce beast—a true king among wolves.

Such transformations were not unique to this wolf. Across various locales, fierce beasts laid siege to human settlements, while others engaged in brutal combat within the woods, growing stronger and evolving through conflict.

The following morning, Chen Wei rose with the dawn, having spent a restless night. As darkness deepened, the roars of the fierce beasts in the forest grew louder and more ferocious, as if locked in relentless battle, leaving his mind reeling.

"System, what was with the fierce beasts' roars last night? Do you have any idea?" Chen Wei inquired, keenly aware of the shifts in his surroundings.

"The fierce beasts are engaged in combat and evolving," the system explained. "A mutated wolf king emerged last night, now at the pinnacle of a level two mutated fierce beast and on the cusp of breaking through to level three."

"The beast resides in the mountain behind the Host's residence," the system added.

"What?" Chen Wei exclaimed, his eyes widening in astonishment.

Mutated fierce beasts were capable of evolution, and now, a nearly level three mutated wolf king lurked on the mountain just beyond his backyard.

A profound sense of danger took root in Chen Wei's heart.

In a grave tone, Chen Wei pressed, "System, how do these fierce beasts evolve?"

"Mutated fierce beasts evolve by slaying one another and consuming the crystalline energy within their adversary's brain core," the system revealed.

"Crystalline energy?" Chen Wei echoed.

"Yes, Host. Mutated fierce beasts produce a unique black crystal in their brains, imbued with life energy. By devouring these crystals, they can continually strengthen and evolve," the system clarified.

The system advised, "As such, Host, you must diligently practice and grow in strength. That is the only way to gain the power necessary to defend yourself."

Chen Wei listened and gave a small nod. Truth be told, he didn't need the system to emphasize the point; he already felt a growing sense of urgency within him.

This feeling intensified when he learned from the system that a second-level peak wolf king lurked in the hills behind his home, weighing on his heart like a massive boulder.
