Shen Mei leaned against the cold wall of the college building, her thoughts scattered and restless as she tried, for what felt like the tenth time, to call Shen Yu. Each attempt ended the same way—the call ringing endlessly before being redirected to voicemail. Her grip on her phone tightened slightly as her heart pounded with growing anxiety.
The situation had already spiraled beyond what she could control.
Their entire family knew.
They knew that Shen Yu had presented as an Alpha.
And once something like that spread within their family, it would only be a matter of time before pressure, interference, and consequences followed.
She needed to warn him.
But he wasn't answering.
Letting out a shaky breath, Shen Mei pushed herself off the wall. If he wouldn't pick up, then she would just have to find him herself. There was no time to hesitate anymore. With that thought in mind, she began heading toward the university gates.
