Cultivation Ladder

In this universe, cultivation is the process of absorbing, refining, and commanding Essence — the living energy that flows through bodies, souls, planets, stars, dimensions, and reality itself.

The higher a cultivator climbs, the less they remain human.

At first, cultivation makes the body stronger.

Then it strengthens the soul.

Then it bends space.

Then it bends law.

And eventually, at the highest stages, a cultivator no longer simply exists inside reality.

They begin to stand beside it.

--------------------------------

PART A — KNOWN CULTIVATION STAGES

Stage 0 — Mortal / Pre-Awakening

Power vs Baseline: 1×Lifespan Gain: NoneDestructive Class: Human-levelDefensive Class: Human-level

This is the ordinary state of most people before cultivation.

A Pre-Awakening human can train their body, learn martial arts, carry weapons, and become dangerous by normal standards, but they are still bound by mortal limits.

Knives kill.

Bullets kill.

Broken bones stay broken.

A wall is still a wall.

This is the life Kael Ashborne was born into before his awakening changed everything.

-----------------

Stage 1 — Dust Realm

Power vs Baseline: 3× to 5×

Lifespan Gain: +30 to +50 years

Destructive Class: Room-level

Defensive Class: Enhanced-human level

The first step of cultivation.

At this stage, a person opens their Essence channels and begins refining Essence through the body. Strength, speed, stamina, healing, senses, and reflexes all rise beyond ordinary human limits.

A Dust Realm cultivator can break bones easily, crack stone floors, punch through wooden barriers, and survive wounds that would kill an ordinary person.

They are still mortal.

But they are no longer normal.

Combat feel: Dust Realm fights are still personal and physical. Fists matter. Blades matter. A fight inside a room can destroy the room, but the building will usually survive.

This is the stage where people stop seeing cultivation as a dream and start seeing it as a weapon.

----------------

Stage 2 — Iron Realm

Power vs Baseline: 10× to 20×

Lifespan Gain: +100 to +150 years

Destructive Class: House-level to small-building level

Defensive Class: Wall-level to reinforced-wall level

The body becomes a weapon.

Bones harden. Muscles compress with Essence. Skin toughens. Reflexes sharpen to terrifying levels. A proper Iron Realm cultivator can run faster than vehicles, crush metal, punch through stone, and survive attacks that would turn normal humans into paste.

At this stage, the body is no longer simply strengthened.

It is reforged.

Combat feel: Iron Realm fights are brutal and loud. Bodies smash through walls. Floors crack. Streets break. A normal house cannot survive two Iron Realm cultivators fighting seriously inside it.

This is the stage where ordinary soldiers become useless unless they have heavy weapons or cultivator support.

-------------------

Stage 3 — Storm Realm

Power vs Baseline: 50× to 100×

Lifespan Gain: +300 to +500 years

Destructive Class: City-block level

Defensive Class: Building-level to city-block level

Essence leaves the body.

This is the first stage where cultivation becomes truly supernatural to the eye. A Storm Realm cultivator can project Essence outward, create barriers, release destructive blasts, fly for short periods, and use Talents with terrifying force.

A weak fire Talent becomes a battlefield flame.

A lightning Talent becomes a storm.

A gravity Talent can crush armored vehicles.

A spatial Talent can cut distance itself.

Combat feel: Storm Realm fights look like disasters. Buildings collapse. Streets split. Shockwaves throw crowds aside. A city block can be erased if two Storm Realm cultivators go all-out.

This is the stage where cultivators become military assets instead of powerful individuals.

-----------------------

Stage 4 — Void Realm

Power vs Baseline: 500× to 1,000×

Lifespan Gain: +1,000 to +2,000 years

Destructive Class: City-level to continental threat

Defensive Class: City-level soul defense

The soul awakens.

At the Void Realm, a cultivator no longer controls Essence only through the body. They control it through consciousness, will, and soul pressure.

Their senses can stretch across vast distances.

They can feel Essence moving through the air.

They can touch the fabric of space.

They can sense killing intent before a blade moves.

This is also the first realm where Kael's Hollow Throne becomes truly dangerous, because the stronger his soul becomes, the more the Throne hungers.

Combat feel: Void Realm fights are terrifying because they do not always look physical. Space bends. Pressure falls over entire districts. Weaker cultivators can be crushed by aura alone. A Void Realm cultivator can threaten cities, armies, and even planets depending on their Talent.

This is the realm where power stops being strength and starts becoming authority.

-----------------------

Stage 5 — Crown Realm

Power vs Baseline: 5,000× to 20,000×

Lifespan Gain: +10,000 years or more

Destructive Class: Continental to moon-level

Defensive Class: Planetary survival level

The cultivator begins to rule reality around them.

A Crown Realm cultivator can impose their will on natural law. Gravity, pressure, space, movement, and energy begin to obey them. They can survive in the vacuum of space, cross planetary distances, and battle above worlds.

At this stage, the cultivator does not merely use Essence.

They command it.

A Crown Realm cultivator can stand before armies and make the battlefield kneel.

Combat feel: Crown Realm combat feels divine to weaker beings. The sky changes. Oceans rise. Gravity twists. Mountains break. Entire nations can be erased if a Crown Realm cultivator loses restraint.

This is the realm where civilizations stop asking, "Can we defeat them?"

They start asking, "Can we survive angering them?"

------------------------

Stage 6 — Sovereign Realm

Power vs Baseline: 100,000× to 1,000,000×

Lifespan Gain: Near-immortal by mortal standards

Destructive Class: Moon-level to stellar-level

Defensive Class: Moon-level to stellar-level

A walking natural disaster.

Sovereign Realm cultivators are rare even among powerful galactic civilizations. Most empires have only a handful. Some have none.

A Sovereign can shatter moons, redirect stellar energy, crush fleets, bend local spacetime, and decide wars alone.

They do not need an army.

They are the army.

When Kael reaches this realm, the Hollow Throne begins to reveal its true nature. It is not only a weapon. It is a key. Something ancient. Something built for a war older than the known universe.

Combat feel: Sovereign Realm fights do not belong on planets. A serious clash can destroy moons, ruin orbital systems, and warp space around entire worlds.

This is the realm where a cultivator becomes a galactic figure.

Not famous.

Not respected.

Feared.

------------------------

Stage 7 — Mythic Realm

Power vs Baseline: Beyond standard measurement

Lifespan Gain: Millions of years or more

Destructive Class: Planetary to galactic influence

Defensive Class: Dimensional defense

The realm of legends.

At the Mythic Realm, the cultivator begins transcending biology. The body, soul, Essence, and will fuse into something greater than flesh.

A Mythic cultivator may no longer need blood.

May no longer need breath.

May no longer need a fixed body.

They can manipulate dimensions, rewrite local reality, exist as Essence, and survive destruction that would erase lesser beings completely.

Combat feel: Mythic Realm combat is no longer just destruction. It is rewriting. Space folds. Time fractures. Dimensions tremble. A Mythic cultivator does not simply attack the enemy's body.

They attack the enemy's existence.

Most people will never see a Mythic cultivator.

Most civilizations only know them through records, myths, and religious terror.

---------------------------

Stage 8 — Eternal Realm

Power vs Baseline: Unknown

Lifespan Gain: Functionally eternal

Destructive Class: Universal law-level

Defensive Class: Universal law defense

A realm of rumors.

No confirmed living being in the known universe openly claims to have reached the Eternal Realm.

Those who have touched it are said to no longer exist as individuals in the normal sense. They become woven into the universe itself — into law, time, space, stars, dimensions, or memory.

An Eternal Realm cultivator may not be located in one place.

They may be spread through an entire reality.

They may die in one age and answer in another.

Combat feel: Eternal Realm combat is law-level combat. They do not simply break mountains or stars. They interfere with the rules that allow mountains and stars to exist.

At this level, killing is not enough.

You must erase.

And even erasure may fail.

--------------------------

Stage 9 — Primordial Realm

Power vs Baseline: Impossible to measure

Lifespan Gain: Beyond time

Destructive Class: Multiversal / higher-reality level

Defensive Class: Conceptual existence defense

The unknown peak.

Even the oldest civilizations have almost no true records of the Primordial Realm. Kael's fragmented memories suggest that his previous world, the Primordial Expanse, may have existed at this level or beyond.

This means the Primordial Realm is not simply the final stage of cultivation.

It may be the doorway to higher realities.

A Primordial being may no longer be limited by one universe, one dimension, one timeline, or one version of existence.

At this stage, the difference between cultivator, god, law, weapon, and reality becomes unclear.

Combat feel: Primordial Realm combat cannot be properly described by ordinary language. It is not about planets, stars, or galaxies anymore.

It is about realities.

It is about concepts.

It is about deciding what is allowed to exist.

This is the stage where the Hollow Throne's true purpose becomes unavoidable.

The void was never just emptiness.

It was waiting for someone strong enough to sit in it.

-----------------------------------------

PART B — TALENT AWAKENING

Not every cultivator awakens a Talent.

A Talent is a special ability born from the soul during cultivation. It is not chosen. It reveals what a person's soul is shaped to become.

Some awaken fire.

Some awaken lightning.

Some awaken space.

Some awaken time.

Some awaken bloodlines.

Some awaken things that should have stayed buried.

Talent Grades:-

Common Grade: Useful but limited. Most common Talents remain practical rather than legendary.

Rare Grade: Strong enough to stand out. A Rare Talent can change a fight and give a cultivator a clear advantage.

Epic Grade: Powerful enough to affect battles, organizations, and military campaigns.

Legendary Grade: Civilization-level potential. These Talents are monitored, recruited, feared, or hunted.

Mythic Grade: One per era, if that. A Mythic Talent can change the fate of species.

Primordial Grade: A grade that may not officially exist.

Kael's Talent, the Hollow Throne, cannot be properly measured by known scanners.

Every known device reads only one thing:

ERROR.
