Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: So What If I Reincarnated as a Spider?

Chapter 124: So What If I Reincarnated as a Spider?

Ten minutes earlier.

After sweeping through every single trace of the inheritance left behind inside D's room, Shiro utilized dimensional teleportation to return straight back to the manor.

The night was already advanced, and the old butler alongside the maids had long since fallen asleep. The exact millisecond she materialized, she discovered a bottle of premium red wine sitting right out in the dim living room.

With D officially carried away by Meidou, the massive mountain that had been crushing Shiro's heart completely collapsed, leaving her entirely carefree and without a single worry. Clutching the bottle of wine, she hummed a little tune, skipping and hopping her way toward the bedroom.

However, right as she was about to turn the doorknob, another complication flashed through her mind.

How on earth was she supposed to confess everything to Shirazawa? Should she just flatly tell him: *Hey, I'm actually that tiny little pet spider you used to raise back in the classroom?* Would a normal human being ever willingly choose to be with a spider they used to keep as a pet?

As the saying goes, alcohol grants courage to the cowardly. Regardless of how the chips fell, she was going to bring things to a definitive conclusion today. Whether the final outcome between her and Shirazawa turned out beautiful or tragic, at the very least, she would be able to live the rest of her life without a single regret.

Therefore, she was throwing caution straight to the wind!

*Gulp~ Gulp~*

Draining half the bottle in a single breath caused an infinite reservoir of courage to surge through her chest. Pushing open the bedroom door, the first sight to greet her eyes was the red-robed youth standing beneath the moonlight, his silver-white hair drifting softly in the wind, his handsome face looking remarkably cold and aloof. That detached aura was the absolute polar opposite of his usual gentle demeanor, making it entirely impossible not to lose oneself in the sight.

"A-Zhe~"

She called out, her voice incredibly soft, her tone dripping with sweet affection. "I-I'm back... *hic*... Hehehe..."

Shiro let out a cute little wine hiccup, taking staggered, unsteady steps as she made her way toward the youth. The young girl walked remarkably slowly, every single step proving to be exceptionally difficult because her body felt entirely too hot and her brain was spinning in circles.

The exact millisecond she collapsed into the youth's embrace, a familiar, crisp scent instantly flooded her mind. Shiro's eyes shimmered with a brilliant light, the corners of her lips curving upward into an exquisitely beautiful smile.

"Huu~ Huu~~"

She panted heavily, her tiny heart beating *thump-thump-thump* at a frantic pace.

When she plucked up the courage to lean in for a kiss, only to be pushed back by the youth, a wave of profound grievance inexplicably washed over her. Yet, a fraction of a second later, she was pulled right back into his arms, causing every ounce of that misery to instantly dissolve into a deep, clinging attachment.

She lifted her head, staring blankly at the youth's profile under the silver moonlight, not daring to blink a single time.

"A-Zhe... I... you..." She tried her absolute best to stabilize her throat, yet she still let out a trembling, choked sob. "Would you... could you ever actually love a spider?"

Shiro finally vocalized the singular question she had kept buried in the deepest recesses of her heart for so long. She was filled with pure anticipation yet paralyzed with fear–terrified that the youth would flatly reject her. She braced herself, waiting for the cruel words to fall...

A long silence followed, without a single response. Her heart began to plummet into a bottomless depth. She couldn't help but let out a bitter smile; as expected, she was simply asking for too much. She should have never indulged in such wild delusions to begin with.

"So what if you reincarnated as a spider?"

"In this lifetime, we belong to the exact same species."

"You little dummy."

Shirazawa reached out, affectionately pinching her tender nose. There was absolutely zero reason to lose sleep over a question of this caliber. Furthermore, why exactly do you think I materialized in this alternative world to begin with? Wasn't it entirely because of you?

Hearing his words, Shiro froze in absolute astonishment. A fraction of a second later, her tears transformed into a radiant smile. She proactively pressed her flushed lips against his, fervently intertwining her presence with his.

So that was how it was...

She closed her eyes, her eyelashes fluttering softly. Perhaps due to the heavy influence of the alcohol, her brain was operating at an exceptionally heightened frequency, and even her very soul was leaping with pure joy.

A gentle spring breeze swept across the night sky, blowing through their long hair until the strands tangled together. Beneath the endless sea of stars, the moonlight flowed like liquid silver. Petals drifted downward through the air, accentuating the absolute tranquility of the night. The entire scene felt as though it had been frozen perfectly in time.

A long while later, their lips finally parted. Shirazawa lowered his gaze slightly, staring down at the little spider who was happily nuzzling her face against his chest, and gently wrapped his arms tighter around her frame.

"Shiro~"

"Marry me, alright?"

His deep, mellow voice carried a trace of raspy roughness, loaded with a magnetic charm that could easily captivate anyone's soul.

Shiro went entirely rigid for a brief moment. She snapped her head up to look at the youth, her eyes turning heavily bloodshot as tears welled up. She nodded with everything she had, her voice thick and raspy. "Yes..."

The corners of Shirazawa's mouth curved slightly. He leaned down to seal her lips once more, their movements rolling together in a deep, seamless, and unceasing rhythm.

A stray cloud drifted in from an unknown sector of the sky, completely masking the silver moonlight. The youth and the maiden on the balcony vanished from sight, and thick strands of white spider silk rapidly sealed the entire room shut. The curtains drew closed, completely isolating the space from any outside eyes.

Certain matters simply defied description, because the experience itself... was beautifully beyond words. Exquisitely, stunningly beyond words...

Meanwhile, next door.

Sophia was currently wrapped up like a massive white burrito, leaving only her tiny little head exposed to the elements, and even her mouth had been ruthlessly sealed shut with silk.

*That absolute bastard of a Master!*

*How dare he treat her like this!*

Sophia ground her teeth, her eyes flashing with pure malice. Lacking any urge to sleep and trapped in a state of pure insomnia, the little brat stared blankly at the ceiling, desperately racking her brain for a way to break free from her confinement.

An unknown amount of time slipped by in the dead of night. Out of nowhere, she caught the faint, muffled trace of an acoustic disturbance echoing from the adjacent room. Though the sounds were exceptionally minute, the Vampire Progenitor Sophia–who possessed fully amplified physical senses–instantly detected them.

She snapped her eyes open, her ears perking up as she listened with absolute focus. The vague, intermittent traces of soft whimpering caused her to knit her brows tightly.

What on earth was happening next door? The spatial distortion from earlier seemed to indicate that Shiro had returned. At this hour of the night, an isolated man and a woman alone in a room... *Holy crap!*

Sophia's cheeks instantly flushed a deep crimson, her incredibly hyperactive imagination immediately conjuring up all sorts of thoroughly embarrassing scenarios.

"Mgh~ Mgh~ Mgh~!"

She began to thraw and thrash with everything she had, twisting her restricted body across the mattress.

*Curse it all!*

*Master belongs entirely to Sophia! Shiro, you absolute home-wrecker of a woman, don't you dare think you can just steal him away!*

Sophia's eyes widened so hard she felt like she was on the verge of spitting blood! This was safely past the threshold of what she could tolerate!

"Mgh~ Mgh~!!"

*Let me go!!*

Riel and Sael stared blankly at the massive white burrito rolling frantically back and forth across the bed, looking completely bewildered.

"What... what exactly is she trying to do?"

"I have absolutely zero idea~"

Sophia: "@#¥%&*&!!!"

She continued to struggle and thrash like a madwoman for the entire night. Rolling from the headboard all the way to the foot of the bed, she then proceeded to wiggle her way back up like a giant caterpillar. The display left the twin spider sisters completely stunned.

Had Sophia officially lost her mind? Was she practicing some highly avant-garde form of performance art? Even if she was, there was absolutely no need to invest this much physical exertion into it. They were spiders; they fundamentally lacked the capacity to appreciate art of this caliber.

Sophia was driven to the absolute brink of insanity, continuing her frantic movements until the early morning light filtered into the room, at which point her physical stamina completely hit rock bottom, and she drifted off into a deep, exhausted sleep.

Looking down at Shirazawa, who had been thoroughly exhausted by the night's events, Shiro felt a wave of genuine guilt wash over her.

She hadn't taken his weak physical constitution into account at all; her mind had been entirely focused on fulfilling her own romantic desires, completely neglecting his baseline threshold of endurance. A fully uninhibited Shiro under the heavy influence of alcohol was a far cry from her usual quiet, gentle self, and the end result had severely penalized a certain someone.

Cheap alcohol truly wreaks absolute havoc on lives~

Of course, a word of appreciation was definitely owed to the delinquent Bloe for his incredibly generous sponsorship. Although Shiro had absolutely no idea the wine had been dropped off by Bloe, the guy had at least managed to achieve a minor sense of participation in the grand scheme of things. This bottle of wine had definitely achieved maximum utility value. If he ever discovered that he had personally engineered the definitive union of their relationship, there was a solid chance he would go completely insane on the spot.

Shiro curled herself tightly within the youth's embrace, narrowing her eyes comfortably as she drifted off into dreamland. She resolved that next time, she would try her absolute best to exercise some restraint.
