Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Aze, Cuddle Me...

Chapter 50: Aze, Cuddle Me...

"Munch, munch... Munch, munch..."

Under the moonlight, by the campfire.

The two little spiders were buried in their food, eating with great relish.

*Crunch, crunch, crunch...*

"Waaah, so hot!!" Shiro puffed out her cheeks as she chewed on a piece of meat, her teary-eyed expression looking quite pitiful.

Both had just endured a massive battle and were now so hungry their stomachs were growling; their eating speed naturally quickened. Eventually, the four Greater Taratects were devoured. The two leaned against each other in a pleasant mood, enjoying the silence of the night.

"Ah~ I feel alive again." Shiro stretched comfortably.

Shirazawa also wore an expression of having survived a disaster. If Shiro hadn't arrived just in time, he was one second away from transferring his consciousness to revive elsewhere.

"By the way, Shiro, how did you activate that teleportation magic back then?" Shirazawa asked curiously. "Did you find a way to counter the Dragon Scale Barrier?"

"Nope," Shiro said, spreading her legs. "I just hollowed out my body in advance, let the magic circle construct itself inside me, and released it from within the moment the barrier flickered."

Hearing this, Shirazawa fell silent.

*Was that really necessary?! Hollowing out your own organs to house a spell?!!!* Only this girl could pull off such a psychotic maneuver.

"Anyway, thank you." Shirazawa smiled and hugged Shiro tightly.

"Hehe!" Shiro giggled and rubbed against him.

After hugging for a while, Shirazawa suddenly remembered something. "Right, I haven't looked closely at my status yet. Let me see what good stuff I got from Mother."

[Monster]: Zana Horowa, Shirazawa

[Level]: Lv 36

[Attributes]: Omitted (Approx. 25,000)

[Skills]: (Four screens of skill descriptions.jpg)

Key New Skills: Heavenly Fate, Heavenly Demon, Heavenly Motion, Abundant Heaven, Fortitude, Fortress, Heavenly Path, Heavenly Defense, Emperor...

"Tsk, tsk, tsk... these are all attribute correction skills. The future looks bright."

Shirazawa looked at his status panel in admiration. What is attribute correction? Simply put, if you level up from Lv 1 to Lv 2, your attributes might increase from 1 to 2. But if you have the skill at Lv 10, that same level-up might boost your HP from 1 to 10. The gap is massive.

Like the skill they obtained long ago; with every level, their attack stats increased by hundreds more than a normal monster's would. Such scaling was terrifying.

"A pity. If we had these skills from the start, our attributes would be at least 70,000 or 80,000 by now." Shiro felt a bit of regret. She felt these skills arrived too late; if they had them earlier, they might have actually stood a chance against the Demon Lord.

Of course, she knew that was unrealistic. Unless someone started with a massive amount of skill points and had a guardian to provide a safe training ground, they wouldn't have the luxury of "level-locking" to max out skills for explosive growth. Starting with 100 skill points in a death-trap like the Great Labyrinth, they were lucky just to stay alive.

So while Shiro was regretful, she wasn't discouraged.

"Alright, let's call it a day." Seeing that it was late, Shirazawa patted Shiro's head and stood up with a yawn.

Shiro understood immediately and wove a soft bed of spider silk on a tree branch.

"Mmh, Aze, cuddle..." Shiro jumped into the bedding and waved a claw at Shirazawa.

Shirazawa: "..."

This girl was getting more and more clingy. She wasn't usually like this. Besides, what was there to "cuddle" between two spiders? Wouldn't it just be pointy and uncomfortable?

Feeling helpless, Shirazawa climbed onto the bed and lay down beside her. "Go to sleep."

"Mmh-hmm~" Shiro obediently closed her eyes and soon drifted into dreamland.

Looking at her sweet sleeping face, Shirazawa couldn't help but kiss her forehead before gently pulling back to create some distance. He was genuinely afraid that if she rolled over in the night, the serrated blades on her back would give him a "heart-piercing" surprise. That was no joke. Even if they didn't feel pain and healed quickly, he couldn't handle that kind of "passion."

Pulling up the silk covers, Shirazawa closed his eyes.

...

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the trees. After a good night's rest, Shirazawa was full of energy.

"Shirazawa, wake up!" A tender, girlish voice startled him awake.

Shirazawa snapped his eyes open to find Shiro's smiling face right in front of him. "Time to get up," she urged, poking his forehead.

"Good morning." Shirazawa rubbed his head and sat up, looking around. "Are we still in the County of Keren?"

"Of course. Spatial Magic can only teleport to places I've been before, so I could only bring us back here."

"I see," Shirazawa understood. "Where to next?"

"Let me check." He leapt into the air, standing on a spatial maneuver platform and activating Clairvoyance. "Oh? The Elves are making a move?"

In his vision, a group of cloaked, suspicious-looking Elves were gathered near the Count's estate. Shirazawa knew they were likely sent by that old elf Potimas to kidnap Sophia for research.

When dealing with Elves, there was no need for hesitation. He immediately unleashed a barrage of Thousand-Mile Cursed Evil Eyes. The unsuspecting Elves collapsed one by one, unable to even scream before they died. Taking out enemies from a distance—Evil Eyes were truly convenient.

"Are? Why kill the Elves? Aren't they supposed to be a nature-loving, peaceful race?" Shiro didn't understand.

"Don't be misled by appearances. No one in this world is truly innocent," Shirazawa sneered.

Humans and Demons are greedy and selfish, while the Elves are currently draining MA energy, accelerating the world's destruction. While there were certainly ignorant bystanders, some things are what they are. Even if you do something wrong unconsciously, you still pay the price.

Shirazawa briefly explained the Elves' actions to Shiro, who listened in shock and anger. "How dare they?! Do they want the world to end that badly?"

"Hmph." Shirazawa's lips curled in a mocking smile. "That old elf doesn't care about any of that. So, in the future, if you see an Elf, just take them out."

"Got it." Shiro nodded solemnly. "To save this collapsing world, the Elves must die."

Next, Shirazawa glanced over at the Count's "vampire baby." She was currently drinking milk, living quite comfortably.

"Don't look!" Shiro noticed where Shirazawa was looking and quickly covered his eyes, acting fierce. "Look again and I'll dig your eyes out!"

"...It's not my fault the Countess didn't pull the curtains," Shirazawa said, sounding aggrieved.

Shiro's eyes went round. "Hmph! If you peek again, I'm throwing you down from here!"

"Okay, okay, I won't look."

"..."
