Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: William G2 Form

Although the accidentally acquired G-Virus didn't turn Ryan into an Ultimate Being overnight, he was already quite satisfied.

Just kidding—being able to kick a zombie to death with one foot, what else could he be dissatisfied with? Did he want to achieve Heaven (lol)?

Following the route from his memories, Ryan groped his way to the monitoring room.

The technology of 1998 wasn't that advanced (at least excluding Umbrella), and the monitoring room could only show the situation in the incinerator through a window.

Through the floor-to-ceiling glass, Ryan saw Ada, who had collapsed and fallen unconscious in the incinerator due to her injuries, and he felt relieved.

Even from this distance, Ryan could still make out Ada's alluring figure.

Despite her weakened state, Ada was still a beauty in Ryan's eyes.

A beauty in a red short skirt, unconscious in the incinerator—what kind of shameful scene is this?

Even so, Ryan wasn't exactly obsessed with Ada.

When playing the game, although Ryan, like many others, called Ada "wife," this feeling was greatly reduced in reality.

It was a bit like the disillusionment of a 2D character becoming a 3D one.

Furthermore, Ryan and Leon were now friends who had experienced life and death together. Even in the original world in 2020, Ada's attitude toward Leon was still distant. Aside from giving players a bit of "fan service" in Resident Evil 6, there really wasn't much between them.

Even so, Ryan had no intention of taking what others loved.

Ryan checked the situation in the monitoring room and found that the door to the incinerator hadn't been opened by Leon yet, so he felt relieved.

The door to the incinerator was secured with a heavy mechanical lock, and next to it was a mechanism that required six chess pieces as keys.

Leon must have gone to look for these chess piece keys. Fearing that he might take a different route than Leon, Ryan sat in the monitoring room and waited quietly.

Before long, the door to the monitoring room was pushed open with force.

Ryan, who had been sitting on the chair counting sheep, was startled by the loud noise and jumped up, immediately raising his gun toward the door.

The person who burst in was none other than Leon. Seeing someone suddenly inside, Leon was also startled and drew his gun, pointing it forward.

"Ryan!? You're still alive!"

"Leon!"

Seeing Ryan alive and well, Leon was surprised, but a smile quickly appeared on his face.

He holstered his pistol and gave Ryan a big hug.

"God bless! You really are still alive! Do you know how dangerous that was!? The machine room was bottomless, and we were supposed to escape together. If you had died like that, how could you face Marvin? How could you face me? Blablabla..."

Ryan pushed Leon away and looked at him in surprise.

"God bless! Since when were you so naggy!?"

The two looked at each other and burst into laughter.

In the monitoring room, Ryan told Leon about being infected with the virus and gaining power. Leon wasn't jealous—he was simply happy for his friend.

"By the way, you were infected with that virus… are you really okay?"

Ryan laughed and struck a dramatic pose.

"What could happen to me? Immortal and unaging! An undying body! Stand… Virus Power! I, Ryan, feel amazing!"

Unfortunately, his body showed no mutations, and he couldn't even demonstrate anything, which made him a bit frustrated.

Leon looked at him with concern.

"Did the virus fry your brain?"

Leon also told Ryan about Ada.

Although Ryan knew the plot well, listening to Leon, he somehow felt like he could smell romance in the air.

The two tidied up their gear, and Leon used the chess piece keys he had collected to open the incinerator door.

Once again, they teamed up.

Ryan couldn't help but think that if Resident Evil 2 Remake had both characters acting together, the sense of fear would probably be reduced.

Leon's journey had been quite something—first Claire, then Ryan, then Ada, and now Ryan again.

Yeah… Leon really is the protagonist.

When they reached the incinerator, they discovered that the power had been cut.

So they began searching for the power source.

The switch was in the room opposite the incinerator. As before, Ryan stood guard while Leon adjusted the transformer.

At this moment, Ryan knew William's second form was about to appear. He heightened his senses and watched everything around him.

With Ryan present, Leon's path had already changed. Who knew what would happen next?

After restoring the power, they turned to leave.

Suddenly, Ryan heard footsteps above the door. He immediately grabbed Leon.

A massive claw burst from the ceiling and slammed into the door.

Leon barely avoided being crushed and broke into a cold sweat.

Sparks from the claw ignited an oil drum nearby—

Boom!

The room was instantly engulfed in flames.

Ryan and Leon quickly retreated to a safer corner.

Heavy footsteps echoed from above.

"What… is that!?"

A claw lashed down toward Leon.

Leon rolled aside, narrowly dodging.

Ryan lay on the ground, watching the claw probe around.

"I think it's the monster from the sewer… but stronger now."

Leon turned, shocked.

"No way… didn't it die from the fall?"

Ryan frowned.

"I didn't die, so why would it?"

"...Fair point."

William dropped down and began smashing the rolling shutter.

"Get ready!" Ryan shouted. "The moment it breaks through, we run!"

Leon nodded.

After a few hits, William tore the shutter open.

"Now!"

They rushed forward.

Leon slipped past first, but Ryan stayed behind, drawing William's attention.

William lunged at Ryan.

Ryan slid under the claw attack, sprang up, flipped him off, and ran.

Enraged, William chased them.

They reached a platform near a half-built water purification area—nowhere to run, just a crane and a container.

Leon jumped down and activated the crane.

"Ryan, hold it off!"

"Got it!"

Ryan opened fire with his MP5, targeting the giant eyeball.

Bullets rained down, forcing William to kneel.

"Leon, now!"

Leon slammed the button.

The container swung toward William—slow at first.

But William began to stand again.

Too fast.

Ryan charged forward and slammed his fist into the eyeball.

"Stay down!"

Wryyyyyyy!!!!
