He opened his eyes in Blackrock Village.
He was six again. Small hands. Small body. Lin Yue was alive, hanging laundry. The sun was warm. No system. No crown. No blood.
A man stood at the village gate. Tall. Gold of hair, white of robes. Angel God. The real one.
"Xiao Zhan," the Angel God said, voice like bells. "You have climbed well. You took a mortal system and made it a throne. Now you stand at the door. I am the door."
"I know," Child Xiao Zhan said.
"To pass, you must answer. Not with words. With truth. The trial is a deep dream-like illusion of testing the heart. I will show you three futures. You will choose one. Your intention for becoming the God King will be judged."
The world shifted.
*First Future: The Tyrant God*
He was on a throne of skulls. The continent was his. Every city had a statue of him. Every child was Marked at birth. No war. No crime. No choice. Qian Renxue knelt at his feet, Consort and prisoner. She was beautiful like a born angel, and her eyes were empty.
"Order," the Angel God said. "You can end all chaos. All you give up is their will. Is it worth it?"
*Second Future: The Absent God*
He was alone in a white space. He was powerful. He could see every atom. He could hear every prayer. He answered none. The continent below burned and rebuilt and burned again. Qian Renxue died old, surrounded by grandchildren, never knowing why he left.
"Freedom," the Angel God said. "You give them all choice. All you give up is yourself. Is it worth it?"
*Third Future: The Mortal God*
He was twenty-four, Rank 99, standing on the balcony. Renxue was beside him, hand in his. The continent was not perfect. Heaven Dou had corrupt nobles. Star Luo had bandits. Spirit Hall had politics. His Marked argued with him. His Vassals made mistakes. He bled when he was stabbed. He aged one day at a time.
But when a Blood Phoenix came, he flew out to meet it. When a child starved, he sent grain. When Renxue laughed, he heard it.
"Balance," the Angel God said. "You remain. You rule. You serve. You can die. Is it worth it?"
Child Xiao Zhan looked at all three. He was six, but he'd lived twenty-four years and died once.
"I died ordinary," he said. "I won't die a tyrant. I won't die a ghost." He pointed at the third. "That one. I want to be a king they can kill. So they have to choose not to."
The Angel God stared. Then he smiled. It was not kind. It was proud.
"Intention: Protection Without Imprisonment. Verdict: Pass."
