Chapter 7 - Dragons and Detentions

On the platform Lyra kept her eye out for her curly headed companion, "I don't want to go back yet" Draco held her hand tightly with a deep pout.

"And why not Dragon?" Lyra turned to the boy.

"We never get to speak anymore"

"We can talk at Hogwarts and now we have our journals" she sent him a wide beam hoping to help, he was such a possessive little thing.

He sighed "Well yeah but it's not the same, Crabbe and Goyle can hardly talk in full sentences and don't even get me started on Parkinson"

"You have Theo and Blaise, Daphne isn't too bad" Narcissa cleared her throat and both eleven years olds turned to face her.

"That's very impolite children, at least wait until you are in private settings yes?" she scolded the pair who nodded.

"Sorry mum" Draco whispered.

"Sorry Narcissa" Lyra shot her a small smile and Lucius smirked at the pair shaking his head.

"Say your goodbyes, the train leaves soon"

Both children hugged Narcissa followed by a few loving words from Lucius, the pair boarded the train "I guess this is where you leave" Draco whined gently and Lyra chuckled.

"We have a few hours before we reach Hogwarts Dragon, if you wish for me to sit with you i shall"

~~~
Hermione burst into the carriage a few hours after the train had started it's journey "Oh there you are! I've been looking for you everywhere"
"You are meant to knock" Draco scolded the muggleborn witch sharply knowing Lyra would be leaving with her.
"I did!"
"And i did not welcome you inside meaning you should have kept walking!"
"Okay, that's enough the pair of you" Lyra rolled her eyes "I'll see you at Hogwarts Dragon" she leant forward and kissed his cheek "Don't forget to write"
Standing she grabbed Hermione's hand and the pair left to find another carriage "Argh, he is so...Frustrating!"
"He can be but he is just possessive" Lyra grinned "Now tell me, how was skiing?"
Hermione went on to tell Lyra all about her holiday and christmas "Oh and thank you so much for those books, they truly are interesting, my mother and father are going to read them when i'm done"
"You've already thanked me for them Mi, twice" Lyra chuckled.
"I know, i know sorry it's just...When i joined it was so obvious i didn't know the rules to this massive game and the books are helping a lot" The muggleborn girl blushed "You are not betrothed are you? If you are i was looking into the wizarding laws about betrothals and i'm sure we could get you out of it if you wished"
"I am not no, my grandmother tried but no one accepted"
"Why not?" The girl who had just been trying to get her out of an arranged marriage now seemed to be incensed for her that no one seemed to want to marry her, the change of heart was amusing to Lyra.
"Because of what they say my father did" Lyra smiled gently seeing the cogs spinning in Hermione's head.
"Well what do they say he did?"
"No one has told you?" That truly was surprising, she thought everyone would be talking about it.
"Well people have said it might be best for me to stay away from you but you know i don't like being told what to do"
Lyra hummed "Well you know about, you know who right?" the girl nodded "They say my father gave him information that lead to a lot of people dying"
"And what do you think?"
"My father would never betray those closest to him, the place we both grew up? It harbours nothing kind Hermione, my grandmother was not a nice woman at all and she held no restraint casting forbidden spells on her family members...He found his own family at Hogwarts he wouldn't have them killed not after..."
"I believe you" Hermione reached over and grabbed her hand "How did they convict him?"
"They found him at a crime scene crying that it was 'all his fault', and that was it, no trial, no veritaserum, just the words of a distraught man"
 "That's nothing! That can not be right, no trial?"
"Hermione you need to understand the fear and horror they had all experienced at the time, 'you know who' was just called dead and they wanted to imprison as many as possible to give others the feeling of safety"
Hermione scoffed "Safety? Your father is in Azkaban, you were shipped off to a troll who..." the girl started to cry immediately "Where was your safety?"
"The safety of many outweigh the safety of a few Hermione, it's okay i'm trying to get proof that he was innocent but it will take time, i've seen it"
"I will help! We will do this together!" Hermione nodded wiping her face "Wait...What do you mean seen it?"
"Oh!" Lyra allowed her face to heat up as she turned away from Hermione, dropping a small hint, it was time "You mustn't tell anyone okay?"
"I promise"
"I have visions, of both past and future, they call people like me seers but it's very rare" Lyra whispered to emphasise the need for secrecy, she didn't enjoy lying but in a way it wasn't. She knew the past and the future and she was going to try saving a lot of people so what harm was she causing claiming to be a seer?
"I've read about them" Hermione whispered back nodding "That's amazing Lyra"
"Not really, the things i see can be very scary"
"Did you see your father?"
Lyra nodded "It was another man, his name is Peter Pettigrew, they say he was killed by my father but he wasn't he just got away and has been in hiding ever since"
"Do you know where?"
"Not yet, i can't choose what i see and sometimes it changes depending on ones decisions but trust me when i do see where he is, he won't be safe for long"
"What was your father like?" Hermione had shuffled closer both girls not lifting their whispers.
"I can't remember much but from what i've seen he was funny, kind but also trouble. He'd pull pranks like the Weasley twins" Lyra chuckled and watched as Hermione shook her head with a smile.
"I got a letter from Ron about your present to the twins, i didn't know you were close to them?"
"I'm not but i think what they do while maybe being a bit too far is good for the wizarding world, they all need to smile more. Have you seen Diagon Alley, their faces!" Lyra dropped her face into a scowl and Hermione laughed.
"It's awful isn't it!" The two broke out into loud laughter before Hermione sobered up slightly "Did the boys send you letters?"
"Ron didn't but Harry sent me a letter to say thank you for his gift" Lyra nodded, he had also asked how she knew about the mirror which had pushed her into telling Hermione about her being a 'seer'.
~~~

Back at Hogwarts they ate with Gryffindor house before going straight to bed, the next morning after their last class however Hermione dragged all three to the library before she ran off to go get something "I've had you looking in the wrong section, how could i be so stupid?" Hermione slammed the book down on the table and Lyra glared when dust blew up into her face, Ron snickered as Hermione blushed "I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading"

"This is light?" Ron stared at the large book while Lyra grinned at Harry who shook his head.

"Here it is! Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the philosopher stone" Hermione pointed at the writing on the yellowed pages.

"The what?" both boys echoed.

Lyra watched Hermione roll her eyes slightly "Honestly don't you two read? The philosopher stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It will transform any metals into pure gold and produces the elixir of life which will make the drinker immortal"

"Immortal?"

"It means you will never die" Hermione answered simply.

"I know what it means" Ron snapped flushing red but Harry shushed him gently while Lyra snickered earning herself a glare from the Weasley boy.

"The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr Nicolas Flamel the noted alchemist who last year celebrated his 665th birthday...That's what Fluffy's guarding on the third floor, that's what's under the trap door, the Philosopher stone!"

"We need to warn Hagrid!" Harry shot from his seat and the rest followed him as they ran down to Hagrid's hut. Harry knocked on the hut door and it opened "Hagrid!"

"Oh hello, sorry don't wish to be rude but i'm in no state to entertain today" the half giant grinned, Lyra couldn't believe she'd forgotten about the dragon!

"We know about the philosopher stone!" Harry, Ron and Hermione spoke as one while Lyra just grinned, she loved seeing these moments in person but she didn't want to contribute, it was the golden trio after all.

The door that had shut on them opened once more "Oh" Hagrid sighed walking in leaving the door open in a silent welcome, Lyra walked in and looked into the fire first thing, she couldn't believe she'd forgotten about little Norberta.

"We think Snape's trying to steal it" Harry took off his clock and was followed by the others from the pure heat in the hut.

"No all of us" Lyra sing songed and the others frowned at her, she saw the moment Hermione understood and her eyes widened.

"You're not still on about him are you?" Hagrid frowned.

"Hagrid we know he's after the stone, we just don't know why"

Hagrid shook his head "Snape is one of the teachers protecting the stone, not steal it"

"What?" Harry looked at Ron, who also looked confused but Hermione's gaze was fixed onto Lyra who nodded.

"Oh yeah there's six of them not including Hagrid of course" Lyra nodded.

Harry turned to look at her with a look of shock "You knew?"

"That they were protecting it? Yeah although it isn't very secure" she just shrugged him off.

"Come on, i'm a bit preoccupied today" Hagrid tried to wave them off.

"So there are other things defending the stone? Spells, enchantments?" Hermione grinned her little head spinning with all the possibilities.

"That's right, waste of bloody time if you ask me, ain't no one going to get passed Fluffy ain't a soul knows how apart from me and Dumbledore...I shouldn't have told you that, i shouldn't have told you that" Hagrid shook his head.

Lyra winked at Hermione who hid her grin because she knew Lyra knew how as well, Lyra saw Ron shifting away from the massive dog who was slobbering in his ear "Fang" she called gently and the dog jumped off the couch next to Ron and trotted up beside her sitting happily as she gave him some love.

The pot on the fire started going crazy and they all watched as Hagrid pulled an egg out and set it on the table, Lyra stood patting Fangs head once more before she moved for front row seats "Erh Hagrid what is that?" Harry asked.

"I know what that is but Hagrid, how did you get one?" Ron looked away from the dragon egg for a moment to look up at Hagrid.

"I won it off a stranger that i met down at the pub, seemed quite glad to be rid of it as a matter of fact" They all watched as the egg split apart and out crawled a dragon already the size of a cat, it was a little unsteady on it's feet but it was cooing gently and Lyra was transfixed.

"It that...A dragon?" Hermione glanced at her best friend who seemed to be leaning closer to the dragon with a look of awe on her face.

"That's not just a dragon, that's a Norwegian Ridgeback, my brother Charlie works with these in Romania"

"Wicked" Lyra breathed and from the corner of her eye she saw Ron puff up in pride.

"Isn't he beautiful, oh bless him look he knows his mummy" Hagrid cooed at the baby dragon and Lyra smiled "Hello Norbert"

"Norbert?" Harry frowned, she hadn't noticed how judgy the boy was but it was so cute! She'd seen his little eye rolls and twitches of his brows whenever someone said something stupid or he didn't understand but Lyra guessed that's all he could do with the Dursleys.

"Well he has to have a name doesn't he?" Hagrid grinned not taking his eyes off the dragon in front of him.

Ron reached out to stroke the dragon but Lyra slapped his hand away, in the films Ron didn't get bitten but in the books he does she just couldn't remember when "Watch it, venomous fangs"

"Right, right" the Weasley boy nodded and they all watched as Norbert or as Lyra knew her as Norberta coughed and fire spewed from her mouth burning Hagrid's beard.

"He'll have to be trained up a bit of course" Hagrid patted the fire down in his beard quickly and Lyra shot him a sad smile knowing soon he'd realise that just wasn't possible and he'd be needing to give the dragon away "Who's that?"

They all turned and saw Draco in the window, being spotted the Malfoy boy looked absolutely horrified and ran off slipping into the darkness. "Malfoy!" Harry glared at the now empty window but Lyra simply turned back to the dragon, if she didn't die in the war maybe she'd work with them like Charlie, it was a shame the dragon keepers never really rode them.

~~~
"Hagrid's always wanted a dragon, told me so the first time i'd ever met him" Harry spoke as they all walked back into the castle.
Ron rolled his eyes "That's crazy, worst is Malfoy knows"
"I don't understand, is that bad?" Harry asked gently and Lyra looked ahead seeing McGonagall.
"It's bad" Ron having seen what she had looked terrified at.
"Good evening" McGonagall greeted them tensely as Draco moved to stand beside her.
"Good evening Professor, Draco" Lyra greeted them as if it was just another day and watched as McGonagall looked up the the heavens as if praying for strength, just the strength to get through these five years with the Marauders spawn and then she swore she'd quit her job and have a nice retirement.
"Follow me" she ordered and led them to her classroom, they all stood before her "Nothing and i repeat nothing, gives the student the right to walk about at night, therefore as punishment for your actions 50 points will be taken"
"50!" Harry looked outraged.
McGonagall nodded "Each"
"That's 200 points professor!" Lyra frowned, that was not nice at all.
McGonagall looked at her dead on "That is some quick maths Miss Black"
"I thought you'd want us to win the house cup, that's a shocking amount! How are we meant to get all them points back!"
"I'm sure you will figure a way" The professor answered, the girl certainly shared her fathers mischief and quick tongue at that "And to ensure it never happens again all five of you will receive detention"
"Excuse me professor, perhaps i heard you wrong i thought you said the five of us?" Draco stepped closer to the desk where they were all stood.
"Obviously Dragon, you are out of bed too, i'm sure you lost 50 points also" Lyra glared slightly at the boy who frowned turning back to the professor in hopes she had misspoken.
"You heard me correctly Mr Malfoy, Miss Black is correct. Honourable as your intentions were, you too are out of bed after hours, you will join your classmates in detention as well as lose 50 points" Professor McGonagall nodded.
200 points was...Awful and in her own opinion slightly out of order they were only with Hagrid, she was positive there could have been worse things they'd have been doing in fact in years to come she was sure they would do worse.
~~~

They'd been gathered for their detention, Filch had been reaming them for a while now it was disturbing how much he was enjoying this, the fact they could die in the forest seemed to do something to the caretaker, things Lyra didn't even want to imagine.

"A pity they let the old punishments die, was a time detentions found you in the dungeons hanging by your thumbs...God i miss the screaming" Filch spoke with a wistful tone that made the kids cringe.

"Only time you hear screams ayy Filch?" Lyra sneered and the man snarled at her before hurrying up.

"You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight, he's got a little job to do in the dark forest... sorry lot this Hagrid...Good god you're not still on about that bloody dragon are you?" Filch sneered when Hagrid sniffled.

"Norbert's gone, Dumbledore sent him off to Romania to live in a colony" Hagrid answered seeing the confused stares from the group of eleven year olds.

This was what was confusing for Lyra, some scenes followed the books exactly while others followed the books. In the books not only is Neville meant to be in this detention but they were meant to have helped Hagrid send Norberta off with Charlie but it followed the movie scenes where it was Dumbledore who sent the dragon off and Longbottom is no where to be seen.

She was forced to remember both cases and try to work a plot for if either happened, it was tiring.

"That's good isn't it? He will be with his own kind?" Hermione frowned.

"What if he don't like Romania? What if the other dragons are mean to him? He's just a baby after all" Hagrid expressed clearly growing more upset.

"I'm sure he will enjoy Romania but if you are worried i'm sure Ron won't mind giving you Charlie's information, he works in Romania with the dragons you could ask for updates" Lyra grinned happily when the man straightened and looked towards Ron quickly who nodded trying to help.

"Oh for gods sake, pull yourself together you're going into the forest" Filch cut in rolling his eyes.

"You've delivered us now, you may leave" Lyra glared at the caretaker who sneered at her in return.

"The forest? I thought that was joke, we can't go in there! Students aren't allowed and there are...Werewolves" Draco yipped looking panicked.

"Not tonight it's not a full moon" Lyra informed the group trying to be helpful but all three of them glared at her clearly not finding her assessment helpful.

"There's more then werewolves in those woods, you can be sure of that, nighty-night" Filch grinned and walked off.

"What an arse" Lyra whispered shifting when Hermione elbowed her.

"Right let's go" Hagrid waved them on and they followed him into the forest, Lyra looked around in awe it was stunning, spooky but stunning.

They stopped at a small silver puddle with Hagrid and watched as Hagrid gently swiped his fingers into the puddle, his fingers came back coated in a shocking silver liquid "Hagrid, what is that?" Harry asked as the kids watched him closely.

"What we're here for, see that?" he held his silver fingers high "That's unicorn blood, found one dead a few weeks ago...Now this one has been badly hurt by something" Hagrid was cut off by rustling in the bushes, the others kids bristled and tightened up in their circle but Lyra just beamed up at Hagrid.

"So it's our job to find the poor creature?"

"Exactly Lyra" the half giant nodded "Lyra, Ron and Hermione you come with me"

"Okay" Ron whimpered looking sickly.

"Absolutely not!" Draco snarled "Lyra is with me and we get Fang!"

Hagrid sighed and took a moment to collect himself "Fine, You, Lyra and Harry take Fang...Just so you know he's a coward"

This was not fair, why was she being dragged on the dangerous mission? Somewhere beside them Fang whimpered a sound that was a close match to the ones Ron was releasing, Lyra reached down at patted the dogs head gently.

~~~
"Wait until my father hears about this! This is servant stuff" Draco sneered holding onto the lantern tightly.
"If i didn't know any better, i would say you were scared" Harry smirked but even he couldn't hide the slight shake to his hands.
"Of course he is, so are the rest of us. Dumbledore told us this was forbidden for a reason and to then turn back and make us enter especially at night is appalling" Lyra grinned before she got an idea and slowed her steps, both boys looked back at her in confusion.
Draco watched her eyes become dazed, his own widened as he moved to her side grabbing her arm gently as she swayed slightly "What's happening? Is she okay?" Harry moved to her other side but Draco ignored the 'chosen one' instead focusing on Lyra fully.
"In the dark...He is here...Feasting on unicorn blood" they both watched as Lyra shook her head but her eyes stayed dazed "I mustn't run...Help comes from star gazers...Close calls but it will not happen this year"
"Lyra? Come on, come back it's okay" Draco soothed into her ear trying to bring her back, he watched as her hands closed into fists and her eyes became clear.
"What was that?" Harrys frown deepened as he looked her over.
"I...They call witches and wizards like me seers" Lyra whispered "You can not tell anyone, Hermione knows but..."
"Will you explain it to me later?"
She nodded "Of course"
"Lyra you said he's here" Draco had moved so he was all but pinned to her side and his head swivelled to watch around them.
"He is here, in the forest"
"Who?" Harry followed Draco's motion of studying the area around them all.
"Voldemort" she whispered and both boys tensed.
"He is dead" Harry hissed but didn't take his eyes from the trees, it seemed like they were moving in on the group, the moon seemed to lose light and it grew darker around them.
"In a way he is, it's not his original form" she nodded "We need to move, come on Fang" she called the hound and took off further into the woods, the two boys quick to follow after her.
After a while of just mindlessly stumbling through the forest Fangs deep growls brought them all to a stop "What is it Fang?" Harry stared down at the hound but both Draco and Lyra were locked onto the sight of the poor unicorn laid down while a hooded figure hunched over it.
Harry looked up and released a sharp gasp hand flying up to his scar, Lyra reached out and grabbed his empty hand just as the figures head snapped up, the hood covered the upper part of the face only allowing the three eleven year olds to see the silver painted mouth snarling at them.
"Draco, go find Hagrid...NOW!" she yelled and Draco took off remembering the part where she had stated she mustn't run, beside him Fang cantered Draco followed the hound knowing he would find Hagrid must quicker then he'd be able too.
The form turned less solid as it moved like smoke, it lifted off the beast and almost floated towards them, Lyra lifted her wand "Incendio!" she screeched and fire flew out of her wand but the blackened form just danced out of the way before continuing to approached them.
It straightened up and it's form became more solid as it stood taking slow calculated steps forward, using the hand laced with his Harry pulled her backwards as he moved, moving backwards was not an easy feat because his heel caught on something and he tumbled backwards unfortunately pulling Lyra with him.
The air left her in a dramatic puff as her back hit the ground, Harry didn't allow her time to recover as he tugged her arm harshly pulling her up beside him as the figure kept approaching.
A loud sound rang out through the forest and all three paused before a extremely large horse like beast flew over Harry and Lyra, the boy had wrapped his arm around her as he watched with wide eyes the beast fight the shadow like thing, it had flown off like smoke fading into the fog that had built in the forest.
Harry slowly climbed to his feet before gently helping Lyra up as they both faced the beast "Harry Potter, you must leave. You are known to many creatures here" it spoke as it moved passed the unicorn towards them "The forest is not safe at this time, especially for you"
"What was that thing you saved me from?" Harry frowned watching Lyra pass him as she ignored the horse like man to moved towards the unicorn.
"A monstrous creature, it is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn, drinking it's blood will keep you alive even if you are an inch from death but at a terrible price for you have slain something so pure...That from the moment the blood touches your lips you will have a half life, a cursed life...What are you doing Harp?" the beast turned towards Lyra who was knelt beside the unicorn.
"Who would choose such a life?" Harry cut him off, Harp? Was that an insult?
The beast paused before turning from Lyra who pulled several vials out of her robes and started collecting unicorn horn dust as well as some of it's mane, normally a dead unicorn is stripped of everything purely because it is against the law to kill one but it seemed wrong to do so now but a few vials wouldn't hurt anyone.
"Can you not think of anyone?"
Harry peered over at Lyra who was placing vials into her robes before she patted the unicorn gently as if grieving for it, he remembered her words before "You mean to tell me that thing that killed the unicorn that was drinking it's blood was Voldemort?"
"Do you know what is being hidden in Hogwarts at this very moment Mr Potter?"
"The Philosopher stone" Lyra smiled as she joined the pair again, the centaur nodded looking her over.
"Harp" he nodded politely.
"Hello Firenze" she grinned widely as the centaur cocked his head slightly before humming.
"You have a knowledge i have never seen before, the stars changed the night the Black heir was born, we didn't know why but now i think i do" he leaned closer but she stood strong "You will do well here"
"Thank you"
"Lyra!" they all turned at the new voice and saw Hermione stood with the others "Harry"
"Hello there Firenze, see you've met our young Mr Potter and Miss Black...You two alright?" Hagrid greeted the centaur.
Harry nodded "We're perfectly fine thank you Hagrid" Lyra was the one who answered properly "We found your unicorn though, i'm sorry"
"This is where i leave you, you're safe now, good luck" Firenze nodded his farewells as he took his leave.
~~~

"You mean, you-know-who is out there right now in the forest?" Hermione frowned as she looked between Harry and Lyra.

"But he's weak, he's living off unicorns, don't you see we had it wrong. Snape doesn't want the stone for himself he wants it for Voldemort" Harry paced in front of the fire before he stopped and turned to Lyra "Right?"

"Someone does but not Snape" she answered and his eyes narrowed.

"Who?"

"I...I can't say"

"Why, you tryna protect the dark side?" Ronald glared at her, Lyra sprang to her feet.

"Screw you Weasley" with that she turned on her heel and headed to bed, she was quickly followed by Hermione who took a death grip on her hand in silent comfort "Things are not always what they seem to be Hermione, there are light wizards who are actually dark and vies versa, people talk in smoke and mirrors but i know, i've seen it all"

"It will be okay right?" the muggleborn whispered.

"In the end, yeah but i'm going to try to not let it be drawn out like it's meant to be...Soon i will start my plan and hopefully save many in the mean time"

"I will help you"

~~~
Months passed quickly, Ron had apologised swiftly when Lyra had gone to ignoring him completely, in those first few weeks you would have believed the Weasley boy was completely invisible to the Black heir well apart from her huge beast of a cat hissing at him whenever he got close enough which always sent him scurrying away. He tried to speak to her as if nothing happened but she would simply talk over him to other people, it was hurtful but liveable until others thought it was a game and started to copy her.
Seamus and Dean had been the first to start, they thought it was hilarious and would go out of their way to hang around Ron to ignore him. The Weasley twins were next to join in going as far as to pretend he was never born simply because it was a good prank, next had been Lee Jordan and Oliver Wood but that had been the last straw that broke the camels back seeing as Oliver was the quidditch captain, Ron had all but begged her to put an end to his misery. The whole thing once again reminded her how scary pack mentality scared her.
Her birthday had passed and it saw her with a sky high pile of gifts in front of her but the only thing she truly looked for was the familiar white envelop which the moment she saw she snatched it up and opened it gently.
Inside she found a white card which held a magical illustration of a blue butterfly fluttering up to land on top of a full moon, she opened it carefully catching the polaroid that tumbled out. The photo showcased her sat on top of Remus Lupins shoulders while he stood side by side with her father and James Potter who held Harry in his arms.
 The few second clip showed how wide everyone was smiling, she watched her small hands slip into Remus' hair and clutch on but the man didn't wince once instead his smile widened. Her father was holding onto one of her ankles as he looked up at her with a large beaming grin, Harry was snuggled deeply in his fathers arm who was laughing at something someone said out of shot before he reached down stroking Harrys cheek before the photo restarted.
She knew who was sending her these but it finally sunk in that Remus was sending her one of his own personal photos ever year. Every year he would part with one of the last thing he has left to remember his friends just to gift her something to remember them by, the message inside was pretty much the same as every year but this year there was more written inside.
Dear Lyra
Happy birthday pup.
I wish you all the joy and happiness in the world, you deserve it.
I know you will be at Hogwarts this year and i am so proud of you, no matter the house, no matter the grades.
Your mother and father are proud of you no matter what, that i wholly believe.
~~~

"I'd heard Hogwarts final exams were frightful but i found that rather enjoyable" Hermione grinned from beside her.

"Speak for yourself" Ron grumbled and Lyra laughed.

"I'm pretty sure she was"

They all turned when they heard Harry grunt "You alright Harry?" Ron asked gently.

"My scar keeps burning" he grunted clutching his head.

"It's happened before" Hermione frowned looking at Lyra who just stared at Harry.

"You should see the nurse" Ron offered.

Harry shook his head "I think it's a warning, it means danger is coming"

"That's because it is" Lyra nodded allowing her voice to become wistful like Luna's, she had told Ron some months ago which was followed by a more sincere apology for his comments.

"Of course!" Harry whispered staring down at Hagrid's hut.

"What is it?"

"Don't you think it's a bit odd that what Hagrid wants more then anything is a dragon and a stranger just happens to have one?" He spoke all the while speed walking towards Hagrid, both Lyra and Hermione were practically running while Ron looked like he was the only one walking normally at his already stupid height "I mean how many people wander around with eggs?"

"Those who want information, i knew you would get there" Lyra grinned happily.

"Hagrid, who gave you the dragon egg? What did he look like?" Harry demanded the moment they were close enough.

"I don't know i never saw his face, kept his hood up" The grounds keeper frowned but answered the abrupt questions.

"But this stranger, you and he must have talked?"

"Well he wanted to know which creatures i looked after, i told him i said after Fluffy a dragon's gonna be no problem" Hagrid chuckled.

"Did he seem interested in Fluffy?" Harry asked again.

"Well of course he was interested in Fluffy, how often do you come across a three headed dog even if you're in the trade? But i told him, i said 'The trick with any beast is to know how to calm him' take Fluffy for instance, play him music and he falls right to sleep"

All three eleven year olds turn to Lyra who nodded "I shouldn't of told you that" Hagrid frowned before they all took off running.

~~~
All four ran into McGonagall's room seeing her sat marking papers at her desk "We have to see professor Dumbledore immediately!" Harry demanded.
"I'm afraid professor Dumbledore is not here, he received an urgent owl from the ministry of magic and left for London" McGonagall answered.
"He's gone! But it is important this is about the philosopher stone"
"How do you know-"
"Someone's going to steal it!" Harry cut the professor off quickly.
"I don't know how you found out about the stone but i assure you it is well protected, now would you go back to your dormitories quietly"
Walking back out Harry stopped them all "That was no stranger Hagrid met, it was Snape which means he knows how to get passed Fluffy"
"Harry i already told you-"
"Good afternoon" they all froze and turned hearing Snape behind them "Now what would four Gryffindor's such as yourselves be doing inside on a day like this?"
"Weasley burns in the sun sir, red heads you know" Lyra grinned happily and the man fought the urge to roll his eyes, sometimes she embodied her father too much.
"You ought to be careful, people would think you are up to something"
"Us? Pfft no" she shook her head "Sun damage is a very serious thing sir, merely looking after our daywalker friend that's all"
"Daywalker?" Snape sighed as if the question hurt him.
"Ahh yes, the known Gingervitus curse" Lyra shook her head gently "Such a shame" Hermione snickered as Snape just huffed and turned walking off.
"Is that a real thing?" Ron demanded and Lyra burst out in laughter.
"Ahh! Daywalker" she gasped before having to lean on Hermione from her laughter as Ron just grumbled to himself.
"What do we do now?" Hermione looked at Harry who was watching Snape leave.
"We go down the trapdoor, tonight"
