Elena stared at Isabelle quietly for several seconds before finally asking the question softly.
"And you had to give in again?"
Isabelle closed her eyes briefly. Then nodded once again. "Yes."
The single word carried years of shame inside it.
"For several years," Isabelle continued shakily, "Victor kept tormenting me whenever he wanted."
Elena's fingers slowly curled against her lap now because suddenly… her father looked even worse than the monster she already knew him to be.
Then finally Isabelle whispered the words that truly shattered the atmosphere completely.
"Until eventually… the video leaked." Elena froze slightly. A tear slid silently down Isabelle's cheek again. "And when it did…" she whispered brokenly, "everything in my world collapsed."
Elena slowly closed her eyes after hearing Isabelle's final confession.
For a few moments, she said absolutely nothing.
