Chapter 177
Wayne checked his wounds and touched his face, saying, "These scratches are nothing. As for how I look, I'm glad you don't care."
Euphoria rolled her eyes and went to wash the animal hides.
Wayne slapped his leg and stood up quickly, saying, "I was so busy fighting them that I forgot to catch any prey!"
After saying that, he changed into his animal form and ran out, though he avoided the area where the birds were resting.
Euphoria shook her head with a sigh.
After dinner, Euphoria played with the children for a while and got some fresh air before heading inside.
Just as they fell into a deep sleep, a noise woke them up.
"Is anyone there? Help!" Several voices shouted from outside, calling for assistance.
Euphoria woke up, as did Wayne and the others. Wayne had already stepped out of the house.
Hayes held Euphoria and said, "It's fine, go back to sleep."
Euphoria nodded and closed her eyes, but she kept listening to the commotion outside.
