Chapter 83
Seven days into Euphoria's stay with the Pointed-Eared Clan, the sky broke open in a terrifying display of nature's power. It was no ordinary rain; it was a torrential deluge of lightning and howling gales that made the fiercest typhoons she'd ever known feel like a summer breeze.
Frightened by the rattling thunder, the cubs burrowed into Euphoria's arms, blinking their wide, round eyes in search of comfort. She held them close, whispering softly and stroking their backs until the storm finally broke the following morning.
The clear sky revealed a landscape of battered blooms and deep, muddy puddles. Having been cooped up for over twenty-four hours, the cubs were desperate for a walk. After their morning milk, Euphoria gave in and took them out.
