"Oh, Euphoria, what am I supposed to do?" Rose groaned, tugging at her hair in frustration.
Euphoria laughed at her friend's dramatic expression and handed her a piece of fruit. "Just let things happen naturally. There's no point in stressing over it." She took a crisp bite. "I always knew you still had feelings for Dan, so his pursuit doesn't surprise me at all."
Rose paused, looking puzzled. "Why?"
Euphoria just smiled mysteriously, offering no further explanation. Rose looked like she was about to lose her mind at the cryptic response, so Euphoria quickly changed the subject. "Alright, stop overthinking. I'll treat you to a fish dinner tonight."
The mere mention of fish worked like magic; Rose's eyes lit up instantly. She really is a total foodie, Euphoria thought.
Rose wandered over to the cage, peering at the red inhabitant. "By the way, why are you keeping a fox?"
