Chapter 41
The hatchlings were quick to pick up on their father's sharp mood shift. They finished their meal with hurried caution, then slithered toward Euphoria, hoping for a cuddle. However, a single icy glare from Luce rooted them to the spot. They flicked their tongues longingly at Euphoria but didn't dare cross the boundary their father had set.
"Luce, shouldn't we give them names?" Euphoria asked, gently stroking one of the snakes.
Luce's expression softened as he looked at her. "Not yet. Names come when they reach adulthood." When Euphoria learned that adulthood was only three or four years away, she was stunned. The idea of having five grown sons in such a short time was mind-blowing, but she couldn't help but appreciate the efficiency of beastman biology. Luce reassured her that while they would look similar, she would eventually be able to distinguish their unique features once they transformed.
