Chapter 22
Euphoria looked at the towering, motionless lion-man, wishing she could bare her fangs at him—if only she had any to speak of.
"I appreciate the medicine, Wayne, but can you please leave now?" she asked, her voice tight with a forced smile.
Wayne's gaze drifted slowly from her face to her pale neck, finally settling on her silhouette just visible beneath the water's surface. He froze, mesmerized.
Euphoria sank lower into the tub, throwing him a sharp glare. "Keep staring and I'll give you an eyeful you won't forget!"
To her surprise, Wayne's ears flushed a deep crimson, and a vivid bloom spread across his face. He looked at her with a sudden, breathless excitement, as if he had taken her sarcastic threat as a genuine promise.
A roguish smirk touched Euphoria's lips. "Are you really that eager to see?"
Wayne stared at her, wide-eyed and looking like an innocent boy caught in a daydream, yet he nodded with absolute conviction.
