After breakfast, everyone gathered at the training field.
Oscar sauntered over a short while later. He looked groggy, as if he had just crawled out of bed, but he had clearly cleaned himself up—no longer resembling a greasy middle-aged man, he now looked like a proper handsome youth. From time to time, his eyes drifted toward Ning Rongrong in the distance, carrying a distinctly dubious glint.
Since they had already met him yesterday, seeing such a drastic change was still rather surprising.
Before long, Shrek Academy's dean, Flender, arrived.
Zhu Zhuqing was slightly taken aback. She had seen this man before—she and Lin Xian had even tricked a piece of crystal out of him back then.
What followed were the familiar introductions. After that, Flender arranged for Ning Rongrong and Oscar to run together, while the rest of the group's training was scheduled for the evening.
…
Lin Xian genuinely didn't know how to complain.
They had gone through so much trouble, only to come here and stand around.
To use a rather inappropriate analogy—wasn't this just taking off one's pants to fart?
Still, since they were already here, he and Zhu Zhuqing didn't return to the dormitory. Instead, they wandered around the surrounding area.
The place was extremely remote, surrounded by farmland, with a vast mountain range behind it. One could say it was nestled between mountains and water. For training and sparring, though, the space was more than sufficient—quite ideal, really.
"Do you know where Dean Flender is taking us for training tonight?" Zhu Zhuqing asked as they walked hand in hand, strolling aimlessly.
If this were the past, she would have thought such wandering was a waste of time and life itself. But now, slowing down like this and walking calmly together carried a unique sense of charm.
"It's the place we've been to before."
"You mean the Great Soul Arena?"
"Yeah. Where else would we go? Besides, only there can Ma Hongjun deal with his evil fire problem."
Hearing that, Zhu Zhuqing couldn't help rolling her eyes at him.
As they continued wandering, they ran into Ning Rongrong and Oscar, who had just finished their run.
Oscar didn't look too bad, though his complexion was a little off—it was obvious his mood wasn't great. Ning Rongrong, on the other hand, was pale and looked like she was on the verge of collapsing.
That was only natural. As a pampered little princess, how could she possibly be used to this kind of physical exertion?
The two of them also made their way to the back mountain.
Lin Xian remembered this place well. There were traces of past combat on the ground, though they had already been cleaned up. Without careful observation, it would be almost impossible to notice.
"Continue telling me the story about that Lucky Brother," Zhu Zhuqing said. "What happened after he met the Little Medical Fairy?"
Seeing the thirst for knowledge in her eyes, Lin Xian pointed at his own mouth.
Zhu Zhuqing immediately understood. She hurriedly glanced around, and after confirming no one was nearby, leaned in.
A little squirrel collecting pinecones nearby froze when it saw the two of them. It hurriedly dropped the pinecone in its paws, then covered its own eyes.
After a long while, Zhu Zhuqing lay in Lin Xian's arms and slightly raised her head.
"Is it fine now?"
"Of course. I'll tell you right away. It's said that they fell into a cave…"
Ever since hearing a small part of the story from Lin Xian, Zhu Zhuqing had completely fallen in love with it and often pestered him to continue.
Of course, nothing in the world came for free. She had to pay a certain price for these stories.
Fortunately, she could afford it—and was becoming increasingly adept at doing so.
They wandered until around noon before finally returning to the cafeteria area.
By coincidence, Tang San and Xiao Wu also arrived to eat.
The two sides exchanged a glance and nodded, treating it as a greeting.
Lunch was still extremely simple—mostly vegetables. Although the portions were large enough to fill one's stomach, eating without any meat was still deeply unsatisfying.
Lin Xian said nothing. He still had plenty of spicy rabbit heads stored in his card space.
After all, how could a thousand of them be eaten so quickly?
After taking his meal and casually scooping some vegetables, he waved his hand. A plate of neatly arranged spicy rabbit heads appeared on the table.
The aroma immediately spread through the air. Even Tang San couldn't help feeling tempted.
Eating cafeteria food for two straight days was enough to drive anyone mad.
No wonder Dai Mubai and the others didn't come here to eat. Who could endure meals like this over and over?
Seeing Lin Xian take out those terrifying spicy rabbit heads again, Xiao Wu glared at him twice. She hesitated for a moment, said nothing, and instead stared blankly at her own food.
"Tang San, want some?" Lin Xian said with a smile. "This is a local specialty I picked up while traveling outside. It smells amazing, and I've got plenty. Why don't you come over and eat together?"
Tang San hadn't even had time to respond when Xiao Wu slammed the table and stood up.
"We won't eat it!"
Her reaction startled Tang San.
Since his Purple Demon Eye hadn't reached a high enough level, Tang San naturally didn't know Xiao Wu's true identity—but Lin Xian did.
A playful smile appeared on his face.
"Xiao Wu, why such a big reaction?" he teased. "Could you be a rabbit spirit?"
The words were clearly spoken as a joke.
But to Xiao Wu, they sounded like a thunderclap.
She froze completely, then slowly sat back down.
"No… no, that's not it!"
Seeing such an entertaining scene, Lin Xian laughed openly.
"I've got plenty. I'll serve you some too," he said casually. "We're all classmates—let's take care of each other from now on."
With that, he took a clean plate, piled it high with spicy rabbit heads, and placed it in front of Tang San and Xiao Wu.
Tang San didn't think much of it. It was a classmate's goodwill, not some priceless treasure.
More importantly, the cafeteria food was painfully bland.
The aroma from the spicy rabbit heads was irresistible, thoroughly awakening his appetite.
"Then many thanks," Tang San said.
"No need. We already had some yesterday," Lin Xian replied. "They're really fragrant—hurry up and try them."
After speaking, Lin Xian returned to his seat.
Watching Tang San accept the dish, Xiao Wu wanted to say something, but hesitated. Considering her identity, she didn't dare react too strongly.
In truth, Tang San couldn't stand Lin Xian very much. Lin Xian had openly contradicted his teacher's views before, which left him quite displeased.
Still, since Lin Xian had taken the initiative to offer this food, Tang San decided to treat it as an apology.
With that thought, he ate without further concern.
He tried one first—and just as Lin Xian had said, it was unbelievably delicious. He hadn't eaten anything this good in a long time.
The spicy rabbit head seemed to carry a strange magic, making it impossible to stop once you started.
How could he possibly enjoy such good food alone?
"Xiao Wu," Tang San said, turning to her, "come eat this spicy rabbit head with me. It's really delicious. If you don't believe me, just try one."
