"So... you two really aren't my real parents," Oliver muttered while covering his face with both hands as he leaned backward.
The revelation hit him incredibly hard. For fifteen years, he had been living with surrogate parents.
For Irmine, she could still technically be considered his aunt. But for Arnulf, there was absolutely no blood relation between them whatsoever.
"Then Husk and Flora were indeed correct," Oliver said.
"You two knew? Since when?" Arnulf asked in surprise.
"I knew since the first time we met. Your scent and Oliver's scent are completely different, while Irmine's scent still shares similarities with him." Husk explained.
"I spend my days mixing plants and studying their phenotypes. Oliver doesn't possess any of your physical traits." Flora added.
"But then... what does all of this have to do with you rejecting me from going to the Royal Academy?" Oliver asked. Everything still felt confusing to him.
