Chapter 80 - He was winning

The amusement park had been open for years. It had seen children screaming. Teenagers causing trouble. Families fighting over directions.

But never—

Never had it witnessed this level of chaos.

Five celebrities. One rich heir. And absolutely no adult supervision despite several adults being present.

The first ride was supposed to be simple. A warm-up and a harmless roller coaster between Mo Fei, Xiao Mei and Chen Yu. That was what Sima Li said.

Nobody trusted Sima Li.

They should have listened to their instincts.

"Again!" Mo Fei threw both hands into the air as the roller coaster came to a stop. His violet hair had been completely destroyed by the wind. His eyes shone with excitement. His smile was the kind of smile that made people question whether he understood the concept of fear.

Xiao Mei stumbled out of the exit. She looked like she had just experienced a spiritual awakening and was currently holding onto Chen Yu for emotional support.

Chen Yu followed behind her, one hand gripping the railing. They stood there silently. Two survivors. Two people who had seen things they could never unsee.

Their faces were pale. Their hair was ruined. Their souls had clearly left somewhere halfway through the ride.

Meanwhile—

"Ahhhh!" Mo Fei jumped down from the exit platform and threw his arms into the air. "Wasn't that amazing? Let's go again!"

Xiao Mei slowly pointed at him. "You…"

Chen Yu stared at him. "You enjoyed that?"

Xiao Mei tightened her grip on Chen Yu's arm. "Gege, I think something is wrong with him."

Chen Yu nodded solemnly. "I think his fear system is broken."

Mo Fei shrugged. "Different people have different ways of having fun."

Chen Yu looked at Xiao Mei. "Is he human?"

Xiao Mei shook her head. "I don't think so."

Mo Fei ignored them and headed towards the next attraction. "Come on! The next one looks even better."

"FUCK NO!"

The answer came instantly from both of them.

Mo Fei looked disappointed. Behind them, Zhang Yichen had been quietly watching. His gaze moved towards the ride and back to Mo Fei.

"You want to go again?" Yichen asked, "I'll go with you."

Mo Fei's face immediately lit up. "Really? Come on!" Before Yichen could respond, Mo Fei grabbed his hand and dragged him away.

Chen Yu watched them disappear. "It was nice knowing you, Zhang Yichen."

Xiao Mei sniffed dramatically and wiped an imaginary tear. "He was so young." She leaned against Chen Yu's shoulder.

Together, they silently mourned.

The next attraction was the longest water slide in the park. Naturally, everyone wanted to try it. Naturally, nobody wanted to admit they were nervous.

At the top of the slide, Sima Li and Louis stood side by side, staring down at the endless blue tunnel. Louis crossed his arms.

Sima Li looked far too confident. "This is nothing."

Louis glanced at him. "You said the same thing before the roller coaster."

Below them, Mo Fei and Chen Yu had already transformed the situation into a competition.

Because apparently that was the natural next step.

Chen Yu pulled out his wallet and took out Sima Li's black card. "The loser gets Sima's card for another week."

Mo Fei grinned. "Deal."

The signal sounded. Louis immediately grabbed the edge.

"Wait."

Sima Li looked over. "What? Are you scared now?"

Louis stared down the slide. "I suddenly remembered I have responsibilities."

"Too late." The staff member pressed the button.

Louis cursed and disappeared down the slide.

"SIMA LI!"

His scream echoed through the park. Mo Fei and Chen Yu immediately started cheering.

"COME ON, SIMA LI!"

"LOUIS, DON'T DISAPPOINT ME!"

"FASTER! YOU'RE NOT A LOSER!"

"USE THOSE MANAGER SKILLS!"

Minutes later, Sima Li calmly descended the slide. He emerged with a splash, raised both fists and looked victorious.

"I WIN!"

Mo Fei ran over and high-fived him. "Yes!"

"Nooooo." Chen Yu dropped to the ground dramatically. He looked towards Louis, who came out moments later. "You lost?" Sima Li crossed his arms proudly.

Louis stood there dripping wet. "…Yes."

Chen Yu looked devastated. "To him?" His voice dropped. "How humiliating." He pointed at Louis. "How could you lose to him aren't you ashamed? Just retire. Go back to managing. Clearly your athletic abilities have abandoned you. Hmph, your hips are better suited for sitting in an office chair..."

Nil immediately grabbed him. "Come here. That's enough, calm down."

"Let me go! I haven't said enough!" Chen Yu struggled as Nil dragged him away.

Nil sighed and lifted him over his shoulder. "You're going to get banned from the park."

Louis, "…"

What did I do?

The next game was the test of strength challenge. Xiao Mei stepped forward first.

"I've got this."

Everyone gathered around. She lifted the hammer and swung, the bell shot upwards.

Everyone clapped.

"Not bad," Sima said.

Xiao Mei placed a hand on her waist. "Hmph, obviously." She flipped her hair.

Aria walked forward next.

Unlike Xiao Mei, she looked completely uninterested. She picked up the hammer lazily.

Sima Li glanced towards Yichen. "I bet she doesn't swing past 140."

Yichen looked at him. "160."

Sima raised an eyebrow. "Loser owes the other a wish."

"Deal."

Everyone watched as Aria casually swung.

The machine shot upwards and everyone watched in shock.

130

140

160

180

200

Silence.

It stopped at 230

Xiao Mei immediately ran towards her. "Ariaaaa!" She grabbed Aria's face and kissed both cheeks. "You're amazing!" Aria's ears turned bright red. "You're so cool and stronge! 230? Ya-whoo!"

Mo Fei slowly swallowed. "I will never annoy her again."

Chen Yu crossed his arms. "Same."

Nil nodded. Louis sighed. Sima Li slowly turned towards Yichen. His face had gone pale.

Yichen looked back at him. Quietly, he whispered, "Forget the wish, If she finds out we made a bet about her…" Both men looked at her. "She can kill us."

Sima Li immediately nodded, a chill ran down his spine.

"Wise words, brother."

The next stop was a shooting game.

A simple one. At least, that was what Mo Fei thought as he stood in front of the booth, toy rifle in hand and confidence overflowing.

"Watch this."

Five minutes later— Nothing. Not one target. The worker stared at the untouched board, the silence was painful.

"I was warming up."

Mo Fei tried again.

Miss. Again. Miss. By the thirteenth attempt, even the worker had started looking sympathetic.

Mo Fei slowly lowered the gun. Behind the counter sat a giant teddy bear.

Massive.

Fluffy.

The kind of stuffed animal that looked less like a prize and more like a replacement best friend.

Mo Fei stared at it. His lips pressed together. A tiny tear gathered in the corner of his eye.

Yichen, who had been standing nearby, closed his eyes briefly. He had faced directors. Reporters. Business negotiations.

Nothing had prepared him for Mo Fei looking genuinely heartbroken over a teddy bear.

Mo Fei quickly wiped his eye. "It's fine." His voice was suspiciously calm. "I didn't want it anyway."

The obvious lie hung in the air.

Yichen looked at him. Oh for the love of... "Move aside." Before Mo Fei could react, Yichen took the rifle, lifted it, without preparation or adjustment. He didn't even look particularly interested.

Bang.

The first target fell.

Bang.

The second.

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

Every single target dropped.

The entire booth went silent.

The worker slowly lowered the score card and give him a thumbs up. "...Perfect score."

Yichen placed the rifle down, walked over, picked up the largest teddy bear and handed it to Mo Fei. "Here."

Mo Fei grabbed it. The teddy was almost bigger than him. His eyes immediately lit up. "Yichen gege. You're amazing."

A tiny hint of pride appeared on Yichen's face. He straightened slightly, chest puffing out

"I know."

Everyone else,"…"

Mo Fei hugged the teddy tighter. "I shall name you Sir Teddy the fourth."

Everyone looked at him, the competition had begun.

Ten minutes later, the group had somehow transformed a peaceful amusement park visit into a personal championship.

Nobody knew when it happened, no one questioned it.

They simply accepted the madness.

Sima Li stood at another booth, staring intensely at a tiger plush.

Louis stood beside him. "You know I don't need that."

Sima fired.

Missed. He fired again. Missed. His expression became increasingly serious.

"This tiger represents my feelings."

Louis glanced at him. "What?"

"I need to win it."

After several more attempts, Sima finally hit the target. The tiger dropped. He picked it up proudly and held it towards Louis. "I saw it and thought of you."

Louis stared at the tiger. "So I'm a tiger?"

"Tigers are fierce. Don't underestimate yourself, Louwee."

"That explanation was terrible." Louis sighed. But he still accepted the tiger.

Sima smiled.

At another stall, Nil calmly played ring toss.

Unlike everyone else, he actually looked like a normal person enjoying an amusement park. A few minutes later, he returned holding a snake-shaped teddy.

He quietly held it up.

Chen Yu immediately grabbed it. "Oh my god. For me?"

Nil smiled. "I thought you'd like it."

Chen Yu hugged the snake instantly. "Aww. You shouldn't have. It's perfect."

Mo Fei tilted his head. "You like snakes?"

"Yes." Chen Yu hugged it tighter. "This one is cute."

For Aria, the game looked effortless. Because for Aria, everything looked effortless.

She lifted the hammer and with one hit, the machine screamed as the score climbed again.

Nobody was surprised anymore.

Aria returned carrying a penguin plush.

Xiao Mei immediately ran over. "Mine. Mine. Mine. Give it." Aria handed it over. Xiao Mei hugged it happily. "Aria, you're the best!"

Chen Yu looked at the penguin with disgust. "Hmph. My snake is cuter."

Xiao Mei slowly turned. "Your snake looks like it came from a horror film. My penguin is adorable."

Chen Yu hugged his snake. "My snake has personality."

"My penguin has dignity."

"My snake has emotional depth."

"My penguin wears a bow."

"My snake is prettier than you, bitch."

Xiao Mei gasped. "How dare you!"

That did it, she launched herself at him.

Within seconds, the peaceful amusement park atmosphere was destroyed. Scratching. Hair pulling. Teeth. Everything.

"Ahh. This horrible bitch!" Chen Yu shouted as Xiao Mei bit his arm.

Xiao Mei felt her hair being pulled. "Eeek, my lovely hair, I'll make Nil a widow today!"

"You idiot! It's widower! And we aren't even married yet!"

The group spent the next fifteen minutes separating them.

The rest of the day continued exactly like that. A complete disaster.

Mo Fei wanted a candy. Yichen bought an entire bundle.

Everyone, "…"

Mo Fei happily held the biggest one. Nobody had an answer.

Mo Fei stopped at an ice cream stall. "I want one."

Yichen nodded. A few minutes later, the worker handed Mo Fei a ridiculous cone with mountain of ice cream balanced on top.

Yichen had purchased enough ice cream to supply a small village. The seller stared as Yichen casually handed over a thick bundle of cash.

Mo Fei stood there holding an ice cream cone that looked like it required legal documentation due to its size.

Chen Yu, "…"

Sima Li, "…"

Louis, "…"

Aria, "…"

Xiao Mei, "…"

Nil simply accepted that this was his reality now. The seller quietly looked away and Yichen calmly handed over another stack of money.

Everyone slowly turned towards him. Yichen stood there completely composed while Mo Fei happily ate his giant ice cream.

The answer was obvious.

Yichen wasn't buying snacks anymore. He was competing against the entire amusement park.

And somehow—

He was winning.
