Chapter 1 - Super Brother ! - chapter 1 [Alexis#1]

It's been 1 month since my brother was born. During his short lifespan, I noticed many things.

First of all, babies are really, really annoying.

Second, my parents are really busy now. They both took a break from their jobs and are now full-time caretakers! Alexis really takes all of their attention. Not that I'm jealous or anything—I'm not a kid anymore, I turned 15 last week.

Lastly, Alexis is really special, to say the least.

"Johan, did you see Alexis?"

My dad screams that a lot these days.

"Johan!"

Looks like he really can't find him this time.

"Dad, I don't know, I was in my room the whole time! Maybe check in the attic or something!"

My house is pretty big, and Alexis always ends up in the attic. God knows how. The attic is 4 meters up, so you need a ladder to get there, and I've never seen Alexis climb a ladder. Maybe we should just seal it.

"Johan!"

"Dad, what now?"

"Come down and help me, I can't find him!"

I really don't know how it ended up like this, but now I'm helping my dad find my brother, who is hiding somewhere in this house. Once I find him, he will pay for the time I lost!

"Oh, Alexis! You were there the whole time. Oh God, please don't ever do that again. Please, do you know how much your dad was worried?"

"Dad, I don't think he plans on stopping this."

Alexis was sitting on the bed in the guest room. Like always, he was giggling, as if he was amused by this whole situation.

Sometimes, those white eyes of his look very sharp, it looks like he can actually tell what you're thinking.

Sigh.

"Johan, please watch over your brother for the time being. There's an assignment I really have to finish for work tonight."

"Fine, Dad, don't worry, I'll look over him."

As my dad left, Alexis was staring at me like he wanted to tell me something. His gaze is definitely intriguing. He probably can't see my face from that far anyway.

"Hey, Alex."

I went to the bed and leaned over him. He visibly looked very happy. He has that charming smile that every thought-free baby wears.

"Alex, you really have to stop doing this. Dad's really worried, and Mom can't even rest properly," I said calmly.

I mean, what was I expecting? I'm probably too bored. Malik is busy, so I can't hang out with him today, so here I am, speaking to a 1-month-old baby!

"Ahh... If only you were born sooner, I would have someone around my age to talk with right now..."

"O-okay."

"Huh?"

I'm alone in this room with my brother. I am certain that there is no one else here besides us, so who the hell just spoke right now?

"O-oka!"

So he can speak after all. He really is special.

"Alex, did you just speak?"

"..."

"Alex? You can speak? Am I turning insane?"

"Gihihi..."

"Hey! You punk, I just asked you a question!"

I played with him for the following hour. I didn't know it would be this fun to play with a baby.

"Alexis and Johan seem to get along just fine. It looks like I was worried for nothing..."

My name is Anissa Vayeris. Recently, I gave birth to my second child. My eldest son, Johan, always had trouble socializing with other kids, so I thought he wouldn't like his brother.

But I'm glad to see that they are spending time together—it really makes me happy.

"Ah, I should prepare something for them to eat. It's almost 4..."

leaves the living room

Uff—

"Dang it, Alex! Are all newborns supposed to be this big?"

And I definitely heard him talk earlier. It's almost like he ages faster than regular people.

"Ga-ga..!"

"Huh, are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"

"Ga-ga!"

He sounds less calm than earlier. Maybe he really is hungry. I can't really tell what he's thinking.

"Ugh... whatever, I'll just take you to Mom."

...

"Mom? I think Alex is hungry or something."

"Oh dear, I was just about to heat his milk!" She Replied

"Right, his milk... and what about me?"

"Oh sorry, Johan, I'm quite busy. I can't really cook a proper meal right now. I put you a pizza in the oven, be sure to watch the clock. I put it in at :15!"

"Yeah, no problem, Mom. I love pizza!"

I went back to my room and forgot to check the clock. I arrived 15 minutes late, and my mom yelled at me while holding the cremated remains of what seemed to be my pizza.

I don't think I can work as a chef anytime soon...

...

Today's Monday, so I have to wake up early for school. I hate waking up early it puts me in a bad mood.

It's not like I have a choice. I already missed too many classes this semester, and my parents won't let me go off the hook anymore.

This morning, however, I felt strangely good. It was so good that I decided to go to school on foot.

"Hey! Johan!"

Oh, that's Malik. He's pretty tall, so it's easy to see him from afar. I don't really like when he screams my name outside though because people look at us when he does that.

"Hey, Malik, what's up?"

"Hm... I don't know..."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, it's weird. What could have possibly made your lazy ass go to school on foot this early in the morning?"

"Huh? And what about you? Why didn't your dad drop you off? Also, I'm not that lazy."

"Well, first of all, you are lazy. As for my dad, he scolded me yesterday because I didn't do well on my math test, so he decided that he wouldn't be dropping me off today."

"Oh... math test, huh? I have one today actually."

Malik looked at me with a lot of pity in his eyes.

"Don't worry, bro. The hardest part is to attend..."

He's right on that at least, but this heartfelt advice won't help me improve my grade...
