Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: The King's Appearance

Inside the reception room, the preliminary exchange was nearing its end.

Fenrir's massive frame leaned against the specially reinforced back of his chair, his dark red eyes scrutinizing the two people opposite him.

After a round of conversation, he had gained a clearer understanding of these two Hunters who had come to him on their own initiative, and this understanding far exceeded his initial expectations.

Before meeting them, he had originally thought the other party would be, at most, two Hunters with S-Level Talents.

He hadn't expected that after making contact, he would find the aura of these two to be different from the aura he and William had when they were still at the level of S-Level Talents.

The young girl, Leah, possessed the SS-Level Talent [Illusionary Eye].

The specific abilities were unknown, but judging by the name, it clearly belonged to the category of illusions or dreamscapes.

This type of talent absolutely involved high-level Spirit domains, making it bizarre and difficult to defend against.

The man called himself Eagle Eye, and like his name suggested, his talent was [Dynamic Vision], also SS-Level.

Although the exact function of this talent was unknown, one could guess its general purpose.

Two SS-Levels, and both with such unique and practical talents.

Fenrir felt a secret joy in his heart; once these two joined, Apocalypse's top-tier combat power would receive a significant boost.

But at the same time, he became more vigilant. Why would such figures choose the seemingly crisis-ridden Apocalypse? Did they truly see Apocalypse's potential and perceive its plans, or did they have ulterior motives?

"If you are joining Apocalypse with sincere intentions,"

Fenrir spoke slowly, his voice deep.

"Then I can guarantee that the resources Apocalypse possesses and the future platform it provides will never fail your expectations. Here, strength and contribution receive the most direct rewards."

Eagle Eye's grayish-blue eyes remained calm and ripple-less as he gave a slight nod. Leah blinked her azure eyes and said with a giggle,

"The Vice Leader looks very reliable! We are being very serious, you know!"

The two clearly showed approval of Apocalypse's current state and the strength and bearing Fenrir displayed.

Just from Fenrir's powerful aura alone, he was among the absolute top-tier of Hunters, even exceeding the intensity an ordinary SS-Level Talent Hunter should possess.

In a situation where Hunters with SSS-Level Talents did not intervene, he alone possessed the strength to keep the entire Apocalypse standing tall.

Just then, the communicator on Fenrir's wrist vibrated slightly.

He lowered his gaze and pulled up the encrypted channel that only core members could receive; it was a short message from William.

[The Leader is prepared to meet in person.]

Fenrir's dark red pupils contracted almost imperceptibly, and then a very subtle, strange expression flashed across his face.

He looked up at the two people opposite him and twitched the corner of his mouth, making an expression that left Eagle Eye and Leah somewhat confused.

"I have some news."

Fenrir cleared his throat, trying to return his expression to normal.

"Apocalypse's true Leader will be coming over in person shortly."

The true Leader?

Eagle Eye and Leah were both startled for a moment, and then a strong light burst into their eyes!

They naturally knew who Fenrir was referring to—not William, who was the face of the organization, but that mysterious existence hidden behind the scenes who possessed an SSS-Level Talent and had single-handedly created Apocalypse!

Were they finally going to meet? That SSS-Level Talent Hunter who was rumored to be god-like, and whose very existence was even questioned by some!

Countless guesses and imaginings instantly flashed through their minds. A middle-aged powerhouse as majestic as a mountain? A cold and aloof expert with a chilling temperament? Or perhaps a domineering, ambitious hero?

In any case, to possess an SSS-Level Talent and lead Apocalypse to rise in such a short time, they must have extraordinary qualities and a powerful aura.

Perhaps they even possessed robust muscles and a tall stature just like the Fenrir before them!

They couldn't help but sit up straight, feeling both expectant and slightly nervous.

Being able to see a powerhouse of this level with their own eyes was an opportunity in itself.

Fenrir saw their reactions, and the strange curve at the corner of his mouth deepened. However, he said nothing more; he simply stood up, walked to the door of the reception room, and stood there quietly, like a guard waiting for the arrival of a king.

Soon, footsteps were heard in the hallway, approaching from a distance.

Unlike Fenrir's heavy and oppressive stride, these footsteps were much lighter and more rhythmic.

It was the crisp sound of hard heels clicking against the floor, steady and clear.

The door curtain was pulled aside by a hand with distinct knuckles, wearing a black leather glove.

The first to walk in was the Blond Man with red eyes.

He was tall, wearing a well-tailored black uniform, with a face so handsome it was almost demonic, and an elegant yet distant smile on his lips.

His aura was completely restrained, but Eagle Eye and Leah could see that beneath that body lay power fluctuations that were more solid and profound than Fenrir's.

Even without using a talent, his physical strength was far higher than Fenrir's.

Is it him? The two speculated, their gazes narrowing slightly.

However, after the Blond Man walked in, he did not head for the main seat. Instead, he stopped by the door, leaned over slightly, and held up the heavy door curtain with one hand.

Immediately after, Fenrir, standing on the other side of the door, also leaned his tall frame forward slightly and lowered his head.

Under the confused and gradually widening gazes of Eagle Eye and Leah...

A foot encased in a black combat boot stepped over the threshold.

Then the other.

A figure walked in.

Petite. That was the unavoidable first impression.

Her height was estimated to be less than one hundred and forty centimeters, and her frame was slender.

Her snow-white long hair was slightly pressed down by a black military cap bearing a silver insignia, with a few strands of hair escaping from under the brim and falling onto her shoulders.

She wore a uniquely designed black and red Gothic-style military uniform, with an exquisite double-layered pleated skirt underneath, and her trench coat swayed slightly with her steps.

Upon seeing the little girl's face, both of them were stunned.

Her skin was so fair it was almost transparent, with a faint hint of color.

What made it most impossible to look away were those eyes like rubies—clear, cold, without any of the ignorance or innocence a child should have, containing only a settled indifference and calm.

She stood in the center of the reception room, her ruby-like eyes calmly sweeping over the dumbfounded Eagle Eye and Leah, and then landing on William and Fenrir at her sides.

William maintained his posture of holding the curtain, and Fenrir remained with his head slightly bowed.

The entire reception room fell into a deathly silence.

Time seemed to freeze for a few seconds.

Then, that petite figure broke the silence with a crisp, flat, child-like voice.

"Is it you two who wish to join Apocalypse?"

The voice wasn't loud, and no pressure was released.

But Eagle Eye and Leah felt as if their hearts were being squeezed by an invisible hand.

Fenrir straightened up and grinned, revealing an almost mischievous smile as he introduced her to the two who had yet to recover from the massive cognitive shock.

"This is the true Leader of our Apocalypse, Lady Lilith."

"However, if you two want to gain the Leader's attention, you'll have to learn Chinese first."

Shopping, turning to look at me, stopping, full-body close-up.

I'm going to take all these snacks! Hehehe~
