The dark sky shifted with the glowing moon, it illuminated many things around, but it could not light up the bony spirit standing nearby.
A white radiance burst from its eyes, this glow was so deep that it had no end.
— So you have come. - the spirit mumbled in a broken but strange voice.
Konstantin recognized him, it was yesterday's spirit... The intelligent spirit!
— I didn't watch that video today, why are you here?
After a pause, the spirit answered slowly but strictly, his teeth, stained with a dark fluid, began to move.
— Y-o-u m-a-y n-o-t k-n-o-w, b-u-t after watching the video, the summoned spirit will keep coming back, until you perform the banishing ritual...
—Get the hell out of my house, I didn't invite you! — Konstantin, his face tensing, took a step forward, trying to hide the rising surge of anxiety.
Seeing that the spirit had seemed friendly at first, but was now just devouring his food, veins bulged on Konstantin's forehead.
He shouldn't have said that.
The spirit's eyes stretched wide open, soon enough they almost fell right out of his face.
— Thud.
The eyes flew out of the spirit, exposing empty sockets; where the eyes should have been, an endless abyss now stretched out.
It stared at me, a cold wind blowing toward Konstantin from the entity.
Its bony appearance shifted into something even more unrecognizable, it was no longer friendly.
The words "It," "The Creature" suited it much better now than Intelligent Spirit.
His heart wept, Konstantin gasped for air without stopping as he stared at its disgusting form; even in his childhood, he had never seen anything that could drive his thoughts into such a frenzy.
The creature wore a long cloak that concealed its arms, legs, and torso, leaving only a lifeless head visible.
The chandelier swayed above the creature, and soon the bony entity, looking down on Konstantin for more than a few seconds, gave an unnatural twitch.
— Crash, crash, CRASH!
The chandelier hanging above the monster shattered, and it was no longer visible, but footsteps could be heard!
The chandeliers and lightbulbs turned off and broke one after another, leaving the room to bathe in a dark tub.
— Oh my god!
Konstantin bolted with all his might to get out of his apartment, his vision quickly adapting to the darkness since he ate a lot of carrots.
This!
The tall creature was blocking the dark hallway that led to the exit, shutting off any path for retreat.
With the bottomless eyes of a bony skull, it stood and stared at Konstantin.
Konstantin analyzed the situation under the sudden pressure and dove into the room where Ruslan usually slept during sleepovers.
Stepping over the threshold, he slammed the door so hard that even the chandelier in the room shook; fortunately, the light in this room was still alive.
—Slam!
— Click!
The light flickered on and instantly filled the entire room, a place that felt to Konstantin like a safe haven in his soul.
The door had a glass pane through which one could vaguely see what was happening outside, and now there was only darkness.
If THIS came after me, what is happening to Misha right now?!
"Now I see why he hasn't answered me for so long..."
—Oooohhh...
A heavy sigh echoed.
The hair on Konstantin's arms stood on end, he could hear his heart pounding.
—SLAM!
With the speed of a wild animal, "something" slammed against the glass of the door!!
A gasp escaped, and the hair on Konstantin's head stood on end.
He heard something pressing against the door. It was a two-meter figure, slamming its hands against the glass.
— My heart!, My heart!! The phone, hurry! — Konstantin dialed Misha's number, his hands shaking violently.
He pulled out his phone in such a sheer panic that he almost dropped it; after tapping a few numbers, he opened his phone and went into his contacts, his hands twitching so much that he had to enter the passcode on the lock screen several times.
"Misha"
«Calling»
He pressed call and began to wait, the atmosphere growing tighter with every passing second; he was spiraling into a deeper state of panic from what he saw through the door, the terror dragging him forcibly into a dark swamp!
– Ring! - "Yes!" Konstantin shouted quietly, raising his fist and clenching it, his wide eyes flashing with joy right under the gaze of the monster.
—Ding!
The call was answered!
Static and white noise filled the line, followed by those same strange sounds coming from Misha's end.
Kostya immediately began to speak with deep concern, but his tone softened as he tried to calm himself.
— Misha, it's here, it gouged out its eyes and it's pressing against the door!
Misha (through static): «Damn it... Kostya! (Static) Don't ask how I know about you or what's happening over there, that's not important right now. (Static) I see what's happening in your room. You need to find [the item] in the room to make it calm again!»
Konstantin was in shock and immediately looked around; there was nothing near him, it was an absolutely empty room!
Misha immediately rushed to explain:
"Right now I'm performing a ritual that will send it into your room, just hold on for a couple more min...!"
After that, massive static cut in! Soon the call disconnected, leaving Konstantin all alone in the bright room; however, the light could not drown out the anxiety in his heart.
Even though he didn't hear the full word, even an idiot would understand that he meant the word "minutes"! He just had to hold on for a few minutes, and he might get out of this difficult situation!
Konstantin stood in the center of the room, watching the bony Creature; its long, wet, skeletal fingers, covered in white moss, touched the doorknob!
—Creeeak.
The door creaked and began to slowly open.
— Th-e r-i-t-u-a-l o-f t-h-e s-p-i-r-i-t s-u-m-m-o-n-e-r...
The creature sensed something, and from what could be heard, it related to the ritual.
— I won't touch you... Come o-u-t.
The entity claimed it wouldn't hurt him, but Konstantin, having watched plenty of horror movies, didn't buy it for a second.
Soon, the creature's patience snapped and it kicked the door open.
—Boom!
The creature looked ahead, its empty, grotesque sockets scanning everywhere, yet it failed to notice Konstantin.
1 minute.
Since the creature was out of its mind, it decided that there really was no one here and moved toward the door of Konstantin's main room.
Konstantin, however, had been behind the door the entire time, hiding in a crouch.
His face was a mask of pain and distress.
When the door had been kicked open, it smashed directly into Konstantin as he hid behind it; his nose was broken, and drops of blood began to spill.
— Drip, drip...
The sound of the dripping was quiet, and the crazed creature didn't notice it.
"What do they even want with me? Just leave me alone!" Konstantin snarled in his thoughts.
His face was as red as a tomato from the impact.
He quietly crawled out from behind the door, the darkness bleeding from the hallway reflecting in his eyes, and saw his room where the spirit was.
Its monstrously tall stature and the white fur on its thin back evoked pure terror.
It stood scanning the room; Konstantin's room had plenty of places to hide, including the closet, under the bed, under the desk, behind the curtains, and so on.
Soon, Konstantin moved silently out of Ruslan's room.
— Step... step... step...
He moved with quiet strides, heading toward the living room hallway, occasionally glancing back while the creature was busy searching the hiding spots.
Soon the dark living room came into view, its lightbulbs shattered; ahead stood the front door, and to the right was the closed bathroom door.
—THUD!
As he drew closer to the living room entrance, he heard a terrifying sound and looked back once more.
There it stood.
With no light in its eyes, thin and elongated, it smiled so wide that you could clearly see its ears lift up.
Konstantin's heart skipped a beat; now his heart not only wept, but ached from pure helplessness.
Konstantin immediately charged toward the front door with every ounce of strength he had!
He burst into the dark living room, and right behind him in the pitch darkness, the monster followed.
—Creeeak - The bathroom door right next to the entrance swung open.
Soon, long, lifeless fingers gripped the doorframe.
It was the same entity he had seen right after watching the video!
The one he had dismissed as just a fantasy of his brain!
The two-meter-tall intelligent spirit behind him was already towering over Konstantin; they were nearing the end of the hall, far from the front door now.
The intelligent spirit also stared at Konstantin with a vacant gaze.
It lunged after Konstantin!
Its unnatural movements suddenly turned into rapid strides; it was scary, terrifyingly scary.
Konstantin didn't just stand there; he threw himself into a dive to the right, then quickly leaped over the nearby sofa and flipped it over, creating a barrier for the phantom.
The spirit began to bypass the couch, and soon a deadly game of tag began as the Monster and Konstantin ran!
Konstantin, unable to think straight in the heat of the moment, scanned the room before a new idea struck him.
—Rip!
He tore the curtains down, then hurled them at the phantom, completely blocking its sight!
"I wonder if it can even see if I throw curtains over it? Its eyes fell out, after all."
The phantom stood frozen in place, stopping.
—THUD, THUD, THUD!
It began to CHARGE even FASTER.
"Is this my end?"
2 minutes.
The climax arrived, and the atmosphere shifted into something more pleasant; the spirit stopped dead in its tracks, as if frozen solid. Its eyes also reflected absolute futility.
Time stopped.
Konstantin saw a figure hovering right above the intelligent spirit, floating while radiating toxic, poison-green vapors; his face was indistinguishable, dressed in a long cloak and a mask, with a black-and-green hood covering his head.
His height was equal to Konstantin's, and a foul, oppressive, toxic aura emanated from him, completely overshadowing even the Intelligent Spirit.
It looked toward Konstantin, stepping back and forth a few times.
In the blink of an eye, he noticed that the floating figure vanished, and now only the spirit stood before him.
The spirit was twenty centimeters taller than Konstantin, and its eyes radiated sheer horror.
Konstantin felt something on his shoulder and turned toward it; the sight he saw did not please him!
A bony hand touched Konstantin; a cold, wet sensation instantly registered, and his shoulder immediately began to twitch and tremble.
Konstantin growled in terror.
— A-A-H!
He moved backward, trying to push away from the spirit, but it didn't budge a single inch.
Konstantin backed off and watched it.
For some reason, "it" ceased its movements and fell into a complete stupor.
"What is going on??" he mumbled, anxious and completely distrusting his own eyes.
– Step.
With a slow pace, the phantom began to walk backward.
Soon, the phantom began to transform; the white fur fell away from its bones, and pale human skin began to grow in its place.
Its eyes transformed too, twisting until they became living human eyes, and white hair grew on its head.
It smiled softly, shaking its head awkwardly.
— I deeply apologize, I completely forgot that my true appearance terrifies people. - it spoke in an almost human voice.
Konstantin stood there with a broken nose, covered in blood and in utter shock.
His face right now expressed something right between "What the hell is this?" and a burning desire to curse the entity out with every profanity in existence.
Konstantin wiped the blood from his face with his sleeve.
