"Let them run!"
Half the fighters near me still looked ready to chase.
I shifted back to my human form beside the broken eastern barricade, grabbed the nearest radio, and yelled it again.
"Anybody follows them across that border, I'll drag your ass back myself. Hold your position."
The order passed down the line.
Warwick's coalition was finally breaking. Not falling back in formation, and not regrouping, they're breaking.
Fighters were abandoning vehicles in the field. Wolves ran between them, some heading back toward the border, others snapping at anything that got close. The packs that had arrived together weren't even moving together anymore.
Nobody knew who was infected, and that was what had finished them. One minute they'd been attacking Graymoor. Next, they'd started watching each other.
Then the smoke got into more of them, and whatever trust remained disappeared.
