I shut the door to my room harder than I meant to and stood there for a second.
"What the hell did they just tell me?" I muttered to the empty space.
My wolf had been leaving the seal. Ten years of those fragmented dream feelings weren't just dreams. It was my wolf slipping out into the world, and every time it did, Rhys's wolf used my body like a temporary ride.
I hadn't known any of that.
The seal leaked.
I dropped onto the edge of the bed and rubbed my face. Simple thought in my head: Ten years and I was still connected. Just not in any way that helped.
I needed to move after a while. I headed down the hall and knocked on Elise's office door before I could talk myself out of it.
She called for me to come in.
I stepped inside and closed the door behind me.
"You okay after that meeting?" I asked directly.
Elise looked up from her papers, trying to keep her face steady. "I'm managing."
"That's not what I asked," I said, staying by the door.
