"Get those bastards separated."
I slammed the SUV door shut and looked back toward the camp. Graymoor hunters were already moving. Prisoners were zip-tied and lined up. Half the camp looked like it'd been hit by a freight train.
Good. I hoped Warwick was bleeding all over the fucking forest.
Callum jogged over.
"No sign?" I asked.
He shook his head. "No sign."
"Shit."
"He knew where he was going."
"I know."
I hated that Warwick had slipped away. I hated that after all this time the bastard was still breathing. But Elise was safe. Reid was safe. For now, that had to be enough.
I looked toward the vehicles. Elise was standing beside the first SUV talking to one of the hunters. She looked exhausted, pale, and tired.
My chest loosened a little.
"Ready?" I asked.
She looked at me and nodded. "Ready."
Elise climbed into the passenger seat beside me. Callum took the second vehicle. Reid got in with him.
