Current Mood: Concerned, Dutiful, Slightly Annoyed

Notes: Comes from wealthy family with connections to the Church. Has maintained distant interest in Sean for months but never acted on it. Views romantic pursuit as beneath her public image. Believes in duty over emotion.

32% affection. She's not obsessed with me. She's just... doing her job as class president.

Something loosened in Sean's chest. Relief washed over him.

Not every girl in this world is a psycho. The game description said the girls AROUND the main character are yanderes, but I'm not the main character. I'm just... some random guy who happened to have the same name.

The original Sean probably wasn't anyone special. Just a sick kid with a childhood friend who'd gotten too attached.

Which means I might actually survive this if I play it smart.

The conversation at the door was escalating. Sarah's voice had taken on a dangerous edge.

"...don't care who your family is, Mira. Sean doesn't want visitors right now."

"Did he tell you that himself?"

"He doesn't need to tell me. I know what's best for him."

"That's not your decision to make, Sarah. He's not your—"

Sean made his choice.

"Sarah!" he called out, keeping his voice weak and strained. "Who's at the door?"

Silence.

Then footsteps. The bedroom door opened, and Sarah appeared, her expression carefully neutral.

"It's just Mira from school," she said. "I was telling her you need to rest."

"I'm awake anyway." Sean met her eyes. "It's fine. Let her in. Just for a minute."

Sarah's jaw tightened. For a moment, Sean thought she might refuse.

Then she smiled a brittle, sharp-edged thing.

"Of course. If that's what you want."

She stepped aside.

Mira entered the room, and Sean got his first real look at her.

Tall. Elegant. Long silver-blonde hair pulled back in an intricate braid. Amber eyes that swept over him with clinical assessment. She wore the school uniform, a tailored blazer and skirt that probably cost more than Sean's entire wardrobe back in the real world.

She carried a small wooden box, lacquered and ornate.

"Sean." She inclined her head slightly. "It's good to see you conscious. The entire student council was concerned when you collapsed."

"Thanks for coming," Sean said. He could feel Sarah's eyes boring into the back of his skull from where she stood by the door.

Mira moved closer, setting the box on the nightstand beside the soup bowl. "This is a restorative tonic. My family's physician prepared it specifically for cases of prolonged weakness. It should help rebuild your strength faster than conventional medicine."

She opened the box, revealing a crystal vial filled with softly glowing blue liquid.

ITEM IDENTIFIED:

Lesser Elixir of Vitality

Effect: Restores 50 HP and removes one minor debuff

Note: Will not cure "Chronic Illness (Severe)" but may reduce its effects temporarily

Sean's pulse quickened. This could actually help.

"That's very generous," he said carefully. "How much do I owe you?"

Mira waved a hand dismissively. "Consider it the student council's get-well gift. We need our class representative back in proper form."

Class representative? Original Sean had a position?

"Right," Sean said. "About that. When do you need me back at school?"

Mira pulled out a slim tablet from her bag, tapping through screens with practiced efficiency. "Technically, you're medically excused until the end of the month. However..." She glanced up at him. "The cultural festival planning committee has been struggling without your input. You were heading the event coordination before your collapse."

"I see."

"Additionally, there's the matter of the dungeon practicum next week. All second-years are required to participate." Her expression turned serious. "Given your condition, I can petition for an exemption, but it will affect your final grades significantly."

Dungeon practicum. Right. Fantasy world. Monsters. Combat.

Sean's mind raced. Staying home meant more time alone with Sarah, more chances for her to notice inconsistencies in his behavior, more opportunities for her to realize he wasn't the Sean she'd known.

But going to school meant exposure. More characters. More potential yanderes. More chances to screw up.

Still...

"I'll come back tomorrow," Sean said.

Both girls stared at him.

"Sean, you can barely sit up," Sarah said sharply. "You need at least another week of—"

"I'll be fine." Sean looked at Mira. "I'll take the elixir tonight. Get some rest. I can make it to school for morning classes, at least."

Mira's eyebrows rose slightly. "Are you certain? I can arrange for assignments to be brought to you if—"

"I'm sure."

Sarah's hands clenched into fists at her sides.

"Well," Mira said after a moment. "If you're determined to return, I won't stop you. Though I'd recommend starting with half-days until you've fully recovered." She tapped something into her tablet. "I'll inform the teachers."

She turned toward the door, then paused.

"Sean... it's good to have you back." Her voice was formal, professional. "The school hasn't been the same without you."

AFFECTION EVENT TRIGGERED

Mira's Affection: 32% → 35%

'He's more determined than I expected. Perhaps there's more to him than I thought.' thought Mira

After Mira left, Sarah closed the door with careful, deliberate precision.

Then she turned to face him.

"You want to go to school tomorrow," she said flatly.

"Yeah."

"You can barely walk."

"I'll manage."

Sarah crossed the room slowly, each step measured. She sat on the bed, close enough that he could see the tightness around her eyes.

"Why?" Her voice was barely above a whisper. "You've been unconscious for two weeks. You need to recover. You need..." She swallowed hard. "You need me to take care of you."

Sean recognized the danger. This was a critical moment.

"I do need you," he said carefully. "But I can't stay locked in this room forever, Sarah. I need to get back to normal life. And you need to get back to yours too. You've been here every day, right? You should—"
