Hey Jasper. You've officially been gone a week and I can confirm I miss you more than I thought possible. Especially the make out sessions. I honestly have no idea how I got through school without them in the morning to perk me up. ... But seriously I miss you, so give me a call and let me know how you're doing and if you guys finished relocating okay? Love you, bye.
Jasper sat on his bed listening to his voice mail, fighting the urge to call her back. He missed her just as desperately and wanted nothing more than to head back to her. To wrap her up in his arms and wipe away the tears he could hear in her voice. To get rid of the awful tugging sensation in his chest that he knew she must also be feeling. But he knew he had to get better control of his gift if he didn't want to have to constantly worry about hurting her if he lost control. Just as he knew that if he picked up and was able to reply when she said she missed him and wanted to see him, he would not be able to stop himself from caving. Telling her "no" when he so desperately wanted his own answer to be "yes" and knowing that he was upsetting her more would be too much for him. He would rush back to her side in an instant and never let her go again. Which would make leaving to gain more control so he did not risk hurting her pointless. So, instead he sat there listening to her voicemail and smiling sadly at what she had said. As the message ended, he could not stop himself from letting out a small "love you" in return.
Hey Jasper. It's me again. Is it sad that I keep calling you just to hear your voice mail? I am totally going through withdrawal symptoms of not hearing your sexy cowboy accent. So ... like ... seriously, PICK UP THE PHONE! I want to hear you say more than 'leave a message at the beep'. I also really want to know that you are okay and if you are, why you are avoiding my calls. Seriously, a text will work, just let me know that you are doing fine, will you? Love you, bye.
He smiled at that, letting out a small laugh. Maya's voicemails had quickly become his favourite part of any day. The only thing that made the pull of the bond lessen for even a moment. When he was struggling with his training he even replayed a few of his favourites if there were no new ones just to hear her voice and to hear her say she still loved him. No matter how terrible he was feeling or how upset he was at his lack of progress, her voice never failed to make him smile.
Hey Jas, Rose and Alice tell me you've been working non-stop since the move to get better control of your gift. I think they're trying to bribe me into forgiving them with pics of you. I must have over a hundred on my phone by now. (laugh) But ya know I would gladly delete them all in exchange for a call from you. Or even just a text. Seriously, even if its super late or whatever, call me whenever, okay? I'm never gonna be too busy for my Cowboy. In the meantime try not to overwork yourself, though I'm not sure that's even possible for a vampire, but whatever, don't prove its possible. Love you, and hopefully I'll hear from you soon.
Jasper sat on his bed laughing, finally figuring out what his sisters had been doing this past week. Every time he turned around it seemed they had been there with their phones out. As the message finished though, he sobered. It was clear from the tone of her voice that his Darlin' was upset and he knew he was the cause of it. Still, he couldn't quite bring himself to call her back. Refusing to allow himself the chance to actually talk to her was his self-imposed punishment. If not for his lack of control Edward wouldn't have insisted they move. He never would have been a danger to his mate. And he wouldn't have had to leave her to learn control so she could be safe with him like she was always supposed to be. So instead of allowing his finger to push the button it was hovering over that would call her back, he gently set his phone down on the bed and headed out to continue working on controlling his gift.
Hey Jas it's official, Emmet is now my favourite and forgiven. I have no idea how he got it, but you can tell him the nude photo of you he sent me looks great and I am keeping it forever. Like seriously, it's inspiring some fantastic fantasies. Tell Rosalie and Alice to step up their game if they want forgiveness! Anyways, just called to pass that on before I have to head out to shop so we can actually eat tonight, but you know the routine by now anyways, don't you? Or at least I should hope you do after 100 calls. So again, call me, I'm worried and want to hear from you and I love you so so much.
Jasper stepped out of the shower to see a new message from Maya. Turning away from his closet he made his way over to grab his phone off the nightstand and hit play, promptly choking on air at what she was saying. What had possessed his brother to send his girlfriend a nude of him?! When had he even gotten the chance to take it?! And just what kind of fantasies was his Darlin' having? He groaned as his cock hardened, images of her laid out on her bed pleasuring herself flashing through his mind. He was so lost in them he actually had to replay the message again to hear the rest and as he listened, he couldn't stop the soft smile that overtook his face. "116 calls Darlin'" he murmured, correcting her. 116 times she had called and a 116 times she had unknowingly kept him going. Even when he felt like he was going nowhere in his training, when he felt weak, her calls reminding him that she loved him kept him from giving up. He was determined to live up to her expectations, to be good enough for her and prove that she did not have to fear for her safety when he was around. That he was in control. But before he could return to his training, he had a brother to hunt down and kill.
Hey Jas, just wanted you to know that when you do come back I am planning killing you so you probably shouldn't. Like seriously I will kill you on sight. How you could you possibly think it was in any way okay to abandon me to suffer through math class on my own?! The next time I see you I am definitely going to kill you! Or worse make you do math problems! Trig is friggen hard you know?! Anyways give me a call to let me know that you are fine, if only so that I know that I am not wasting my time planning a pointless murder, okay? Love you Cowboy and hopefully I will hear from you soon so I can plan your most gruesome murder!
When he had first hit play on this message, he had honestly panicked. For a second, he had thought that maybe she had grown tired of waiting for him or met someone else. Logically he knew that they were mates and that wouldn't happen but that didn't stop the fears. When he had heard the rest however, he had burst out into a roaring laugh. Of course his Darlin' would consider doing math problems a fate worse than death and he could definitely see her trying to force him to sit down and do them once he got home. He thought it would be absolutely adorable to watch her try it. As always he followed her own "love you" with one of his own before getting up to resume his training.
Hey Jas, I am so sorry about that last call. I totally didn't mean it! Please just come back and help me pass math. Or if you can't at least send me the answers to the questions. Seriously, I think this class might just kill me. Save me from it and I promise I will love you forever! So like seriously, if you want love forever reach out so I can give it to you. Love you, bye.
This latest voicemail just had him cracking up. And it wasn't just him either; Emmet and Rose had overheard it and asked him what it was about. After playing the one before it, they had both been roaring with laughter alongside him. When they had finally calmed down, Rose had commented that Maya truly was a unique and amazing person before heading off (Jasper had a sneaking suspicion she was going to find Alice so they could text Maya the answers to her math) and Jasper had silently agreed with her. His Darlin' was truly a wonder and he could not wait to get back to her.
Hey Jasper! I think I officially made progress with my corpse of a sister! Bella's been catatonic ever since you guys left. I can't remember if I told you that before or not. But anyways all she does is sit by her open window and stare and then scream herself, and us, awake at night. So I was in her room like usual, trying to get her to respond and she did! She threw a book at my head and screamed at me to get out! Like in a full sentence! Which is more than I have managed to get out of her in these past two months! So progress has officially been made! Anyways hope your doing well! Cause I sure ain't and give me a call when you can so I know at least one of us is doing fine! Love you!
This latest voicemail had made Jasper in a rage. Bella wasn't even mated to Edward yet she was acting this way. Meanwhile his Maya was being left to deal with her and take care of her. As much as she had tried to hide it in this voicemail and the others behind an upbeat and cheerful tone or jokes, he could tell that she was struggling. Yet her so called sister was forcing his Maya to take care of her on top of it. And she couldn't even be grateful for it! It almost made him wish that he had killed her during the party, just so that his Maya did not have to deal with her now.
Okay seriously Jasper, I am getting really really worried at this point! Please give me a call or text me or email me or mail me a letter. Heck, you can send me smoke signals if you want! Just please please let me know that you're doing alright. And please know that I love you and I will always love you, no matter how long you make me wait.
This last voicemail had broken his heart. Though he had laughed at her humour, he could tell how much she was struggling and that she was really worried about him. It made him hate himself more for putting her through this and the pull to go her reached an almost painful level. Not to mention the fact that he had actually written her a letter. Countless letters in fact. All crumpled or torn up and sitting in the corner of his room. He had finished none of them as every time he sat down to write them he couldn't find the words needed to properly express just how much he loved her and hated himself for putting her through this. He knew she felt the pull the same as him and knowing that, how could he ever apologize to her for making her feel that? For being the reason that she was hurting and sad? He desperately wanted to rush home to her and apologize in person and had on a few occasions found himself running in that direction. But he knew logically that he could not be sure that she would be truly safe around him until he had better control of his gift. So every time he reluctantly turned around, returned to his family and redoubled his efforts as he sent up a silent prayer that it would not be too much longer before they could be together again. And once that happened he promised himself he would never again leave her alone or make her worry about him like this.
Hey Jasper. So I kind of made some new friends which you are totally gonna hate. Spoiler alert: they turn into giant wolves! Anyways, they are kind of fun to hang with and Emily is a fantastic cook! Tell Esme she has competition! But on a serious note, its nice being able to hang out with others like me. I totally still prefer you because you give the best cuddles though, so don't be too mad that I am hanging out with bunch of guys. But give me a call so I can tell you about them and you can yell at me for it or something okay? Love you.
At this voicemail, Jasper just growled and tried to fight off the jealousy boiling through him. Of course his girl just had to go out and make friends with the mutts. Never mind that they were dangerous. And it was just his luck that they were all boys too. Hormonal teenage boys that were now hanging out with his gorgeous Darlin' and apparently giving her cuddles. Another growl escaped him as he crushed the frame of the bed in his grip. He would just have to work harder so that he could return home as soon as possible and make sure that none of those mutts got any ideas about trying to put their hands on his mate.
Hey Cowboy! I totally just discovered the best game ever! I'm calling it 'prank and run'. You prank a werewolf and then when he glares at you in anger, you say something to make him come at you before taking off into the woods! We shift before running of course because it's a lot funnier to have a giant dog chasing a giant cat. And guess what? So far, I have yet to lose! Ha ha ha, those dogs will never be able to catch me! Anyways, give me a call and help me plan my next prank on the wolves, okay? Love you!
Jasper just stood in the living room banging his head against the wall. Why did his Darlin' have to do this to him? Why did she have to worry him like this when he was hundreds of miles away and too far to protect her from the wolves and apparently herself. Though he was glad she had found something to distract herself with and was obviously having fun, he did wish it was a little less dangerous. And if those wolves ever managed to lay one paw on his girl then he would tear the whole pack apart.
Oh my God! Jasper, you have to come save me! My sister has officially been replaced by an alien or something! Dad finally put his foot down on her depression and she said that we planned to go shopping. Which we didn't but whatever. And then while we are heading back to the car Bella gets onto the back of some strange guy's motorcycle! Like what the hell! She has officially gone round the bend! I could really use your input right about now, so please give me a call? It would also be nice to know that the love of my life is not dead. Anyways, I have to go but I love you so so much and I hope you know that.
Jasper rolled his eyes at the human's latest stunt. It appeared as if she was only happy when she was putting herself in danger and making everyone worry. Maya had tried to play it off as a joke, but he could hear the stress in her voice and it killed him to know that there was nothing he could do to comfort her or help her. Not when he knew it would end in him running back to her before he was done getting control of his gift. It especially hurt having to deny her when she was calling specifically to ask for his help. Instead he simply asked his siblings, who he knew had been not so secretly texting her, to reach out more. And if their phones just so happened to fall into his possession so he could read over their texts to better ensure that Maya was okay all the better.
Hey Jas, so my sister is officially an adrenaline junkie now and has talked a minor into helping her fix up two motorcycles for them to ride. I would stop them, but she actually seems to be doing better now so I don't think I will do anything about it. Well, I might figure out how to put an ambulance on speed dial or something. But anyways, I love you and I miss you so so much. I thought it might get easier after I got used to you not being here, but it isn't and I am counting down the days till I can see you again.
Jasper let out a sigh as the message finished, he too had thought that it would get easier, but it really wasn't. With each passing day he just missed her more and wished more than anything that he could have enough control so that he could give into the pull in his chest and rush back to her. But unfortunately, though his training was going well, it was also going slowly. He had marked the day of her graduation as his goal and though he had hoped to be completely in control before then, it looked like it wouldn't be happening. With his goal in mind, he muttered out a "love you" as if she was really there and could hear him before heading off to continue working on his gift.
