Chapter 3 - Things That Shouldn’t Stay

🌸 Lina's Mother — The Truth (hidden thread begins)

That night, Lina slept early for once.

Too early.

Darian stood near the door of the room he gave her—watching her sleep like she was something temporary the world might take back at any moment.

And that thought… annoyed him more than it should.

His phone vibrated.

A single encrypted message.

"She is not supposed to exist outside observation."

Darian's eyes narrowed slightly.

So it was true.

Lina wasn't just a lost child.

She was left on purpose.

Not abandoned.

Placed.

🌙 Why Lina's mother left her

Hours earlier… somewhere far away…

A woman stood in a dim facility, watching screens.

On one of them—

Lina, sitting on the roadside talking to a feared man.

The woman whispered:

"…She chose him already."

A man behind her spoke coldly:

"We needed her contained. Not attached."

The woman's fingers trembled.

"She's still my daughter."

No answer.

Just silence.

Then:

"If she stays with him… she becomes unpredictable."

And that was the real reason Lina was left there.

Not because she was unwanted.

But because she was too important to keep close.

🖤 Darian becomes protective (first shift)

Back in the present…

Lina shifted in her sleep.

Darian noticed instantly.

A sound outside.

Too small to be accidental.

His hand moved slightly under his coat.

Not fear.

Preparation.

He stepped out of the room.

The hallway light flickered.

And then—

A shadow outside the window.

⚡ Danger Scene — The First Intrusion

Glass didn't break.

It dissolved quietly.

A blade slipped inside first.

Then a man.

No sound.

Professional.

Darian didn't move.

The intruder did.

Fast.

One strike aimed for Darian's neck—

But Darian caught his wrist mid-air.

A pause.

Then a twist.

Crack.

The man dropped instantly.

Darian leaned down slightly.

"Wrong house."

A second intruder entered.

Then a third.

Lina stirred inside the room.

Darian's expression changed.

Not anger.

Something colder.

They made a mistake.

They came near her.

Seconds later, the hallway was silent again.

No dramatic noise.

No chaos.

Just… absence.

Darian stood there, adjusting his sleeve like nothing happened.

But now—

the rules had changed.

🌸 Lina wakes up (safe again)

She peeked out of the room.

"Did someone knock?"

Darian didn't look at her.

"No."

"…Oh. Okay."

She went back inside.

No fear.

Just trust.

That was worse.

🖤 Darian's protection deepens

He locked every entry point in the house.

Not because he was worried about himself.

But because for the first time—

something inside his territory mattered.

⚡ The Brothers Arrive (chaos begins)

Next evening.

The front door opened loudly.

Too loudly.

"DARIANNNN—"

Two men walked in like they owned oxygen.

Both were clearly not normal civilians.

One tall, loud, smiling.

The other quieter, observant.

They stopped.

Silence.

Then—

"…Who is that?"

Lina was sitting on the sofa, holding a spoon like it was a weapon of fun.

She waved immediately.

"HELLO!"

Darian: "…."

One brother blinked.

"She lives here?"

Darian: "No."

Lina: "Yes."

🌸 Chaos + Bonding Scene

Within ten minutes—

Lina was fully attached to them.

Laughing.

Talking nonstop.

Asking questions.

Explaining imaginary theories about clouds.

The louder brother was laughing.

The quieter one was actually listening carefully.

Darian stood in the kitchen.

Watching.

Silent.

Unmoving.

Something unpleasant formed in his chest.

💀 Male Darian Jealous Moment (subtle but deadly)

Lina pulled one of the brothers' sleeves.

"Do you also have scary face like him?"

The brother laughed.

"No, I'm nicer."

Lina gasped.

"SEE! I TOLD HIM!"

She pointed directly at Darian.

The room went quiet for half a second.

Darian slowly looked over.

"…Told me what."

Lina smiled proudly.

"That you should smile more."

Silence.

The brothers froze.

Because something changed in Darian's eyes.

Not anger.

Worse.

Possessive irritation.

He walked closer.

Picked Lina up without warning.

She blinked.

"Hey—HEY—!"

He carried her away from them.

Straight to the hallway.

Lina laughed the whole time.

"ARE YOU JEALOUS?!"

Darian: "No."

"YOU ARE!"

"I said no."

But he didn't put her down immediately.

Which was… suspicious.

🌑 Ending beat

Behind them, one brother whispered:

"…He's attached."

The other replied:

"…We're all going to die, aren't we?"
